Super friendly laid back style inside. I felt so comfortable ordering from here. There're inside and outside bench/restroom is inside. I'll be back here again. I had a nice time having pasta. It was my taste :)

Service was great. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Ambiance is good, a place where you can stop by and select from hot food that's already prepared or make your own selection. Food was okay, nothing really stuck out. The rice and chicken was served in a huge portion enough to be able to share. My friend said the mofongo was good but nothing extraordinary. The drinks were mediocre, the hot chocolate was literally made from Swiss miss , only good thing is you can decide if it's made from milk or water. The morir sonando was tang and milk not what it's suppose to be. I wouldn't go back none the less.

Very nice staff and food is authentic and very delicious. Ambiance is like sitting in a Latino home on thanksgiving giving with all of the amazing smells.

Like eating in someone's home, generous portions, affordable prices, lovely staff, clean and charming! Try the Bacalao Stew! Their Grouper w/Coconut Milk! Their 8AM Breakfast Mangu! ALL day/night "Lunch Specials"! Special priced dinners for four! This place is a total winner, come weekdays when it's less busy. Solo? Sit at the Counter. A+++++ Closes at 9PM - don't miss it!

The food is great, and the counter-people wonderful. Ambiance is family-like. I went there today, a very cold February 20, 2025, with the warmth of the people working here. Plus, the arroz con gandules, mofongo and the tostones were superb!

Best Puerto Rican food in New York! My girlfriend is from Cabo Rojo PR, been here 20 years. Never had good comida criolla until now. Mofongo? Unreal. Huge portion, made fresh, 2 types of platanos, pernil, chicharron and delicious sweet prawns. I had the pollo asado, crispy skin, tasty rotisserie chicken w rice n red beans. Empanadas on the side were muyricas! Dinner for two, with tip under $50 Super nice folks working here. Clean space, no waits, they take ccs. Crowd? All locals who know what's up. Go!

Picked by one of my pickiest eater friend, this place felt like home. It was cozy and warm. It felt like we'd gone over to our friend's house for dinner. We ordered the Pollo Al Horno Family combo to share, with a whole chicken, white rice, beans and mixed green salad and a 2 liter soda. The chicken was amazing, it was very very tasty and juice went very well with the green sauce. The beans were well seasoned and paired with the white rice and chicken perfectly! We had to get the maduros in the side to complete the combo! Additionally we also order the a cubano sandwich and the Rinconcito Mofongo and this is A Must! Probably our dish of the night! The cubano was good on its own right but we couldn't enjoy it as we were already stuffed from everything else. Not even dessert. For Latin American food this is a place you must certainly try! Great tasting food and they make you feel like you're being served at a friend's house... what's not to like?

    Alcupurria

Saturday, December 14, 2024 around 2:39ish. Party of 3. We were sat by the door so the persons who sat along the chair side ( not wall/bench side) got a freezing burst of cold air when someone went in or out the door. One of us ordered 2 alcupurrias and a cafe con leche. The Alcypurrias were hard and not fresh and the coffee was weak and watered down as if it were from the bottom of the burnt pot. One ordered the pernil sandwhich which surprisingly lacked flavor and was skimpy on meat and other contents. I ordered the chicken mole with spaghetti. The mole was bland and they gave me 3 nubs from the drumsticks with gravy. The spaghetti lacked flavor. The dish was also Luke warm when I got it and it just came off the steam table. Surprisingly today was not the day to come here. The young waitress was not focused but, was on her phone the whole time we were there. Today is a 2 star day. The food and service is usually good here so, we will be back and hopefully have a 5 star experience.

    Large portions of delish!

Seriously, there has to be something wrong with you. My sister is one of the pickiest eaters that I know. Always has been and always will be. She just started eating raw onions several years ago and still doesn't like cooked onions. Even she was able to find something at Jacob's Pickles and it delicious. With regards to the rest of what we ordered, we ordered the Hog In A Blanket as our appetizer and both my daughter and sister ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad. I ordered the Turkey Leg braised in white wine and served with whipped potatoes, Rosemary Biscuit Stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce and gravy. The Hogs in a Blanket were their version of Pigs In a Blanket. The major difference being that Jacob's Pickles are served in puff pastry and with their own house made pickles. Yummy! The salmon salad was served with baby greens, sliced oranges, red onion, cilantro and a light orange vinaigrette. Everything and I do mean everything was delicious. It was a gut-buster of a meal and everything was perfectly prepared. The salmon was expertly cooked and the turkey literally fell away from the bone and tendons of the turkey leg. Just plain old good food in an attractive homey setting wins out all of the time! It's a must go!

Food: well I don't like pickles but their pickles is good! I would definitely eat it! You can also buy it in a jar! DEVILED EGGS: it was so good, the egg melts in your mouth. HONEY CHICKEN & PICKLES: the bread at the bottom became soggy becauase of the oil from the chicken. But otherwise the chicken was fried into perfection. There is a lot of pickles too! ORIGINAL SMASH BURGER: omg so good as well. The burger itself is not dry and it has hot sour pickles! Price rating: 8/10. Typical price, but buy that jar of pickles! Soo good Will definitely come back here to try other food on the menu, but will definitely get those pickles!

The launch of the sandwich came on May 2nd, I believe - out of reach for attendance for a guy sitting at home in Honolulu, Hawaii. Thankfully someone responded to my comment on one of their videos and confirmed the sandwich would be available for the entire month. Today was the day I snuck out of the conference I came to New York to attend and made my way to Little Kirin for lunch because who wants to eat boring conference-provided lunches anyway? Upon entering the restaurant, I saw that the "special" was to be ordered at the front in person rather than the menu near the entrance - which in turn, actually allows you to interact with the chef of this fantastic dish. Believe me when I say this sandwich was the perfect blend between my childhood and adulthood. You have the classic, quality lap cheong layered with a nicely fried egg and melted cheese - brought together between a ginger scallion sauced "soft bun" as porpor would say. For just $10, you get to experience what is a contemporary twist on the classics. My mouth was met with flavors in a combination that could be featured in a Hong Kong version of Ratatouille. I am thankful to have the opportunity to make the journey to Little Kirin from across the country. There are very few meals in my life that leave a lasting impact and I can only imagine I'll remember this day for years to come or at least until my next visit - armed with wet wipes, of course. Thank you for your collaboration and creation. Truly delicious.

Even better after we added some Sriracha. It was loaded and the meat was tender. When getting this of course I had to get their broth as a dip. I was not aware that I had to purchase that separately but I did anyway. The broth was unfortunately very disappointing. Despite being advertised for being a traditional, aromatic beef broth simmered for hours, it was missing a lot of depth and flavor. It was just salty. I would not get this again. Since I work around a couple vietnamese restaurants, I think I would just opt to purchase one of their broth as a dip next time. We also tried their loaded tots. It was amazing. Looks simple but honestly, it was just simply delish. It was just the right amount of sweet, savory and tangy. I would definitely get their sandwich and tots again but not often because $21+ for a sandwich meal is pretty hefty in my opinion... I'll do more once I win that lottery.

Unlike many places that rely entirely on their famous dishes and let the rest of the menu suffer, every single thing we tried exceeded our expectations. My party enjoyed the Shrimp Parmigiana a la Vodka, the lamb chops and the Patty Melt with a side of asparagus and a small side salad. Everything arrived hot and flavorful, only the asparagus could've used a little something, but it was still good. AMARIS T. was very friendly and welcoming, she was attentive and helpful with the menu. We started with drinks: their versions of a Moscow Mule and Gin & Tonic. Both were cutely presented, well made, generously sized, refreshing, and extremely tasty. For food, we ordered a variety of appetizers to share, including the spinach dip, saucy nuggets, disco tots, Green Goddess salad (their version), and Brussels sprouts. Everything was super tasty with mostly good portions. My only small complaint was that I wished there had been more chips for the dip. Overall, I was impressed and would happily order everything again, with the exception of the nuggets. They were good, but I've had better chicken at plenty of other places. They were a bit dry and slightly less flavorful than I expected, but by no means bad. Unfortunately, the dining experience took a wild turn when a cockroach was crawling on the wall right next to where my friend was sitting. The waiter gasped right along with us and tried to catch it in a cup. It got away and scuttled beneath several tables before ultimately escaping the wrath of humans. While it's certainly not ideal to see in a dining establishment, I was willing to understand it as a hot New York summer day, especially with patrons frequently moving between the indoor and outdoor dining areas. However, before leaving, my friends and I went to use the restroom and while waiting another guest ran out screaming that there were water bugs inside. At that point we very promptly left. I really liked the chill, cute vibe, chatty atmosphere, solid drinks, and good food. Unfortunately, the bugs have left me squirming and reconsidering a return visit. I'm hoping the issue can be addressed and resolved because, aside from that, it's a genuinely fun spot!
