This place is my hidden gem for authentic Tex Mex food! I found it from the RI Food Fights Tacomania and haven't looked back since. It's a little drive out from Providence, but there's so much ample parking, and once you get inside, you are transported to the Tex Mex world. Chips and dip are great, and all the tacos we tried are great. It is a bit on the pricier end, but a price I will pay for delicious food! Service is quick and attentive. Great spot to hang out with friends over a bite :)

If you haven't tried, I recommend you do. Food is good, service great and has a great vibe.

New restaurant alert! Thanks to RI Food Fights, we are hot on the #TacoMania trail this month. Last night, it took us to a new restaurant in Cumberland: El Rodeo Mexican Bar and Grill. Their tag line is "Come Hungry, Leave Amazed". And that we were!!! It is a large restaurant with two bars & numerous dining areas. We sat at the back bar & one of the owners was bartending. He was so excited to have such passionate eaters to chat with - he even gave us more chips so I could make chilaquiles for breakfast this weekend! The ultimate margarita was on point & hubby is always happy to have a chilled glass with his Modelo Especial. Tortilla chips came out with a delicious salsa & amazing refried beans sprinkled with Cotija cheese & pico de gallo. I literally could have made a meal of that! We only ordered tacos since that is what we were there to do. I went with the Tacos Jalisco & hubby selected the Tacos de Birria. Both were outstanding! The housemade hot sauce/salsa was kickin'. We watched one plate after another of delicious looking food come out of the kitchen. They have a tableside guacamole cart. The menu is extensive & we can't wait to go back to try other items! We are excited about El Rodeo! Opening weekend. Impressed with the changes they made inside to make it Mexican. Love that they are dressed western and are sticking with the theme. The employees were supper attentive and friendly. The free chips and salsa also came with a plate of refried beam with some ctija cheese in it. Tasty! My blackberry margarita, jumbo and flavorful! Just wish it was a sugar rim vs. Salt (that's just my preference.) I went with steak fajitas. Great seasoning on the meet. I appreciate the size of all the fixings and 4 tortillas instead of three. Salt in needed int which refried beans and as a white girl, i like the basic tortillas as opposed to traditional (its just my preference.) Overall our family was happy with the experience and rooting for this place!

Excited to see this new happening spot in Cumberland! It's been packed every time we have been! Service has been awesome! Super attentive - even when super busy! LOVE that there are pictures of everything on the menu!!!!! Fajitas were good! Everyone loved their food! The margaritas tend to be a bit sweet, and their mojitos could maybe use a little more consistency....I had a few and some were good while others weren't as good! Either way - this new spot has a vibrant and fun atmosphere!

I live close to El Rodeo, so when it opened, I wanted to try it out. The group I was with was familiar with Authentic Mexican food and described what we had as "Tex-Mex" I enjoyed my meal and the service was good (largely bilingual staff). Others at the table liked their meals. I would rate the overall experience a Flat 4.0.....

Stopped in for RI Food Fights Taco Mania! I wanted to love this place, but it fell a little short of my expectations. The only options for Taco Mania! were ground beef or chicken tacos, which weren't bad, but something I could have made at home. The service was just okay as we received two orders of the tacos when we only ordered one. And I also ordered a draft Guinness which arrived as a bottle with a glass which was a little disappointing. The atmosphere was good on a busy Saturday evening. I will say that the taco selections that were on the menu did sound very interesting. So maybe we'll have to stop back to give it another try.

We visited El Rodeo for the first time tonight and really enjoyed the food and ambiance. There are two bars here and a few different seating areas. We were seated at a booth in the dining room, which was very attractive with dark wood and colorful murals. We ordered house margaritas to start, and they were large and flavorful. A basket of complimentary warm tortilla chips, delicious bean dip with cotija cheese, and salsa were brought to our table, and they were all devoured immediately. For food we ordered the birria tacos, tacos al carbon (steak, onions & cotija cheese), and a pork tamale with beans and rice. The tacos were all flavorful and so good, as were the beans and rice. The pork tamale was very good as well. Service was great at El Rodeo and all of the staff members we encountered were polite, pleasant, and helpful. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a good Mexican Restaurant in Cumberland, and I hope we'll be able to return to El Rodeo soon!

Food was delish margaritas were perfect. And the service was outstanding. In a very rustic Mexican setting.

The tacos and burritos are small, and while they're good, they're not at a level where the cost makes sense. At this price point, I expected either noticeably higher-end ingredients or something that really stands out beyond a solid taco/burrito. It ends up feeling like you're paying premium prices for a pretty standard portion and experience. Not bad food at all, just not a place I'd go to regularly given the value

This past Saturday- it was the day. First and foremost I grew up in Pawtucket and if memory serves me correctly this used to be a drive thru photo hut? Pawtucket tap water out of crate and barrel glasses. Lipstick on a pig! Thick chips (needs salt), super fresh guacamole. Win for the guac! 2 tacos. 1. Birria: it's a dirty taco. It's $3 and change for the consomme! (What?!) Lacked flavor. Needs a little something. I added lime and sour cream. 2. Asada: again, missing flavor. I did have 2 bites of their $18 cheese quesadilla (totally overpriced) I did like their cheese but it sat in a small puddle of liquid. Refried beans were very creamy but needed salt. I was left confused over the nomination...

Inside is small with only a few tables, and a counter front with a large menu displaying the food options in Spanish. They provided menus that had options in both English and Spanish (but it was obvious the restaurant catered more to a Spanish speaking audience). That being said, the staff was extremely friendly and had no problem communicating in English. Food selection included tacos, quesadillas, nachos, burritos, and other Mexican fare. Most everything had significant choices as to what protein type you might want on it. Foot quality was amazing. We had only a small variety of food choices in our party of 6, but everyone agreed their food was high quality and tasted great. Overall, if you want a no frills option for high quality Mexican food at a good price, I don't think you're going to find much better.

This place is small and does fill up but seems like most do take out. Parking is a bit tight and limited to street parking, but on a rainy day, there was plenty available. Staff was very friendly and attentive to getting us drinks, more tacos, and checking in on us~ my family speaks Spanish, and staff are fluent and native speakers of Spanish. Central fall caters to a mostly Hispanic population, so it's very welcoming. My partner speaks english, and with his limited Spanish, he ordered with no issue and the staff understood him well. My burrito was customized to my preference which had the cheese, rice, avocado, and no crema. Sounds very restrictive if that's just how my diet is, and I'm so glad they complied and gave me a delicious burrito! The meat was savory and tasty and the table had a container with three different sauces. The hottest was the dark red, and it was super good! I actually finished the whole meal and didn't feel too heavy. It was satisfying. The tacos were tasty, messy, but good. My partner ordered two more and he was too focused on his food to take a picture. For drinks, I got a seasonal drink called Atole Chanpurrado, which is made from corn flour, corn starch, and milk along with cinnamon. There are many versions, but this restaurant had the traditional one. It was super tasty and warm, very enjoyable on a cold rainy day. It was very homey!
