I've eaten at the York location a couple times and the Lancaster location at least a dozen now since it opened. They have tasty but standard East Coast Mexican fare and friendly service. The place is cute and the music is fun but not too loud. You could do far worse for an inexpensive lunch. read more

This place is way overpriced, crappy service and small portions for the price! We waited ten min. And had to yell at the seater to sit us while she was flirting with two guys! We then asked for happy hour or specials and said there was none, only later to find out there were some. I ordered a grande margarita on the rocks, came in a small glass with no salt! I was not paying ten dollars for that! Then we ordered the nacho supreme and it came in a small plate with beans slopped on one side, one tomato and was very pitiful looking! I was very upset. There are rarely any good Mexican restaurants in pa and the one we find was overpriced and underwhelming. This is our go to Mexican spot. The service is not always the greatest but they try and the kitchen is always fast and produces hot and delicious food. Our top faves are the shrimp fajitas and chimichangas. Tortilla chips and salsa is always on point and fresh!! Definitely give them a chance despite their overall rating. read more

Finished at the mall, we were starving(myself, husband and 2 teens)and were in the mood for Mexican. El Rodeo was convenient and around the corner. Mistake! Food was edible but definitely didn't excite the taste buds at all...good enough since we were starving. Service was terrible! We could never find our waitress! I'm not a complainer but... had to ask for silverware, beg for a second drink, margaritas bad, only 1 beer option on tap, waited 15 minutes for her to even show up to the table the first time and then who knows where she ended up after she gave our bill. My husband ended up going up front to pay at the carry out counter. We remembered that we said last time we went ( probably 9 months ago) that we would never go back. Go for chips and salsa and maybe drinks then leave. Went last Friday for a date night and we were not impressed. My date had been once before and was giving it another chance. The wait staff was attentive, but when my date left the table for a moment to get something out of the car for me, the waitress came over to take the order. She gave me a really odd look when I said I wanted to wait until he came back to take our order. The salsa was great, but that about it. We found the rest of our food to be tasteless and bland. The staff here is incredibly rude and super unprofessional. I had an issue with my order and I called the restaurant over 10x to rectify the issue prior to my order being completed; no one answered the phone although the business was open and serving customers. When I arrived and tried to fix the issue on my order, the front desk staff and manager was super rude and combative, showing no act of proper customer service. Both the manager and front desk started to argue with me about fixing the correction. The front desk staff even mentioned she didn't answer the phone because she's busy; however we are in the middle of COVID and the restaurant wasn't even 25% full to capacity. The front desk staff also mentioned that I should eat somewhere else. The high level of unprofessionalism and disrespect will have me NEVER eating at this restaurant ever again. Avoid as much as you can; this restaurant is not here to serve the public. read more

El Rodeo is normally a go to Mexican restaurant for my friends and I due to the cheap a la carte menu and pitchers of Margaritas. Despite these two great things, El Rodeo can often fall short due to the lack of knowledge of their wait staff. Our waiter could not tell us the ounces or size of the pitcher in comparison to the jumbo sized Margarita option. We also felt rushed at the end of our meal when our plates were cleared off and we still had half a pitcher left. Hopefully it will be better next time! read more

I had been here a few times over the years and it was great. However, that is not the case anymore. After not going here for several years, I have visited here twice in the last two months. I thought maybe the first time was a fluke so I gave it a second chance but it wasn't any better. Both times I've visited recently the server barely attended to us, we were not offered refills on our drinks, we couldn't find our servers to ask for things like refills or extra napkins either. My food was practically cold both times. In fact, on the first recent visit one member of my party sent her food back because it was cold. She got a replacement within two minutes but it was cold too. The food is very bland and service mediocre at best. read more

Although the sangria lacked any real resemblance of what it should taste like...the food was pretty good. We both had the combo consisting of the ground beef burrito, cheese enchilada and beef taco. Went to El Rodeo with the mrs. for the first time on a whim. It's somewhere between El Serrano and Taco Bell. That's not a bad thing, you get a lot of food for the money. Service was very good and the lady with the fresh guacamole cart was amazing. Food was a little bland, I ended up using about 1/3 bottle of habanero sauce to liven it up. My wife seemed to really enjoy her margarita and my sangria wasn't bad, especially when you consider the price. I was not blown away, but pleasantly surprised and will go back again. read more

I have tried the tacos de carnitas ala carte, the carnitas platter, and the steak fajitas. I loved it all. My favorite is the tacos de carnitas. The pork is very tender and flavorful. I also love the free warm tortilla chips and salsa. A few critiques would be the slow service, and most of the time my side orders have to be asked for twice. Very bad seating service. We requested a table (not a booth) for 7 and waited an hour and a half. The wait itself was not the problem. The issue was, we were given number 25, and the called number 25 three times, but never had a correct table set up for us. They kept thinking there were only 3 in our party. When they finally had a place for us, it was a booth - not an actual table like requested. We ended up leaving. They were just very disorganized. Not a good place to go when it's busy. read more

If I could give this place less then 1 star I would. We ordered there on Saturday 1/13/2017 online. The online order said it would be ready at 7:30 pm, so I arrived around 7:35pm, When I told the girl at the front desk I was picking she asked if I called it in , said "no, I ordered online." She then proceeds to take something off the print and power walk back to the kitchen....I can only assume it was my order. Now I am standing around at the door waiting for my food. As I am standing there, 5 other employees come to the front and stand there staring at me. One of them open mouth stare, like she has never seen a person before. Then they begin speaking Spanish while I am there. So after about 15 minutes of this, my food finally comes out. I ask the manager why it took so long, and if that was the my order that was taken back when I got there. He wouldn't even look me in the eye or answer my question. Now I am home with my order (deep fried chimichanga and soft taco). They got my order wrong....it wasn't even a chimichange and a hard taco. I call the restaurant and speak to the manager (again) who told me I ORDERED IT WRONG. They didn't make it wrong, I ordered it wrong. After about 10 minutes, he said he would refund the cost of my meal since it was wrong. Well, that was 14 days ago and I have yet to see the refund. I waited to do this review for the refund, and now realize I will never see it. The manager is a liar, and does not have good customer service skills. read more

So I've always been a fan of the food here. Simple, fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. Today I placed a carry out order. Drive 45 minutes home only to find the order was wrong. Called the restaurant angry because my pregnant wife's order was wrong. Their solution was to drive a new order down to me!!! Never have I had a restaurant actually go out of its way to correct a problem like this before. Hands down best customer service ever. It's nice to see a restaurant that actually cares. The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because they have cheap margaritas for a pregame. The food selection is SO overwhelming. You have to choose between #1-10987 basically. I would recommend taco bell before i recommend el rodeo's food (and i hate taco bell). Do not get the queso, its a weird white substance that tastes nothing like cheese. If you go on a Saturday night expect a long wait which isn't worth your time. The service is terrible and your meal will most likely get screwed up because the waitress's never write your order down, they rely on their brain to remember 10 orders. All in all terrible experience but drinks aren't bad (if they get your drink order correct). read more

My 4 year old spilled his drink , several of the staff who were doing nothing didn't do anything to help and rolled there eyes. So Let me start by saying EL RODEO had decent Margaritas and they use plenty of alcohol howvever my buddy, she got really sick after eating the chicken taco salad. it looked very unappetizing if i do say so myself. It made her have to poop after about a 5 min car ride and then she threw her guts up. OH Yeah and the floors were sticky and dirty. THE GUAC cart came straight off the street of mexico. I would also recommend wearing an airfreshener under your nose because the outside air smells like sewage and there is no amish farm around. oh and finally make sure you point to the menu what you want because language barriers are present. read more

They serve hot chips and salsa with free refills. Great Mexican Food. Our favorite is La Parrillada Mar y Tierra for two. The best Mexican food you will ever eat. My husband and I eat here frequently. Love the food. read more

Somebody here previously commented that it's (and quite accurately, in my opinion as well) only a tad bit better than Taco Bell. This is a sad but true summary of our experience today. Food was bland, cold and not at all fresh. Vegetable fajitas were not only not sizzling but cold! Chips were good, salsa tasted as if from a rusty WWII tin. Service was inattentive (no refills, had to ask twice for cutlery and napkins, bill would not come until we got up and waited at the cash register). In fairness, it was a Sunday afternoon, so hopefully we didn't get the regular cooks and wait staff. It was a wanting experience overall; given the choice, the Bell might actually have been a better option. A really disappointing third and last visit for our family. read more
