Cute little Mexican restaurant. I ordered a regular lime margarita on the rocks and a chimichanga dinner. Great service until after I ate my meal, I had to go to the counter to pay because I had to leave but it was one server to many tables so I don't hold it against him. The chimichanga and rice and beans was I think the best I've ever had. The margarita didn't disappoint either. Don't order a water here though it taste gross. I would go back most definitely. I paid 18$ including tip for my meal so comparable to most other mexican restaurants. I will say they have a lot more menu items to choose from than most mexican restaurants. read more

The only redeeming factor of this restaurant was the attentive, professional and positive waitress (Nat)! The chips were stale, the enchilada and chili relleno was topped with tomato sauce. You know a place has to be good when on a Thursday at lunch 10 of 12 tables are taken. On a quick shopping trip to the Williamsburg Premium Outlets, stopped in here for lunch and enjoyed our meals, both being off the lunch special menu. First, ownership is strong; must be family owned, so they're on point with everything. You can get as much salsa as you like and it's solid. We ordered a guacamole appetizer. It's not all that big, but also cost $3.50. My order was a small quesadilla, enchilada and chalupa. Partner had a chimichanga that came with rice and beans, and the lunch sizes were enough. I believe the whole bill with tip was $21. This is clearly a place I'd like to sample more to see if the rating holds up. We've read the reviews and thought to give a go, well let me start off with the host: looked unpleasant, then when asked if we can sit outside as stated on website, he reluctantly sat us outside. The table was dirty (but then cleaned after we asked, the menus were super old and sticky!! The food was: t-bone steak thin and overdone! My husband ordered the Mexican hamburger and there was nothing Mexican about it- it was a regular plain beef cheeseburger!!! Our granddaughter ordered chicken fingers and got chicken nuggets instead!! Andddd the Bathroom toilet seat was cracked and taped up with black electrical tape!!! While it looks like a total dive from the outside, it's really not. The interior was bright and clean with tile floor. I came solo on a Friday night and had a seat at the bar next to two other single diners who were eating. Our bartender was friendly and was comfortable conversing with us. I had initially planned on getting some pork tacos, but decided on shrimp and rice. The shrimp was nice and plump and was served with cooked onions, tomatoes and peppers. It was pretty good, perhaps a bit greasier than I would have preferred, but that's Mexican for ya. The chips were warm and the salsa was fresh. I ordered mega 32 oz Modelo Especial to go with the food. Hit the spot. The space is tight, especially at the bar, which is crammed in right at the entrance (the cold air kept hitting me when patrons were entering/exiting which was kind of annoying). Overall, I would definitely come here again and feel very comfortable dining solo. I thought it was cool that they were playing Food Network on the TV. read more

This place is a family favorite, and we highly recommend it to anyone who asks. The food is inexpensive but remarkably good quality, with generous portions. The guacamole is delicious, and the service is outstanding. We particularly love Gabby and Oscar, but Imelda and her boys are awesome too. Drinks are good, and everything usually comes out quickly. (There are nights when they are slammed when it takes a bit, but that's to be expected at any busy restaurant). What. The. Hell. There have only been three times that I have been so grossly misled by Yelp reviews- and this takes the cake. They got one extra star for the cheap beer, free chips and kind, hard-working staff; the food, however, was nauseating (could not finish plate, and not because we were full). If it says "beef" on the menu, expect some form of extruded meat paste, with almost no consistency, and questionable origin. Perhaps if I bought bulk, bottom-of-the-line hamburg from Cosco, or liked taco bars at dive bars*, I may have developed a callous for this sort of fare, but I have not. Hopefully the steak is better- if you, for some reason, find yourself here. Also, if the menu doesn't explicitly state an ingredient, do not expect to find it on your plate: even if every other mexican place you have ever been to would have included it. For example, the beef and cheese nachos were just that- chips, beef paste and cheese- no spices, no onions, peppers, sour cream, guac or tomatoes- nada. Chips. Paste. Cheese. Now we are sitting at home and waiting to see if dinner will be "revisiting" us before the night is out. It's too close to bet on. I am at a real loss to explain the other reviews here. I hate to give poor reviews, especially when I like the staff, but our meal was just dreadful. Steak was tender, shrimps on both dishes were delicious and they came with guacamole salad, rice and beans.
