Nice find here in La Puente. The building is a little older and I wasn't sure what to expect. Walking in you can see that it's a place that's relaxed and you can stop by anytime to enjoy your meal. The worker was friendly and got us seated quickly and got us our drinks. They have a good selection of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can see and hear that they get lots of telephone orders while they are serving you, a good sign. Food was hot, had good flavor, and we all enjoyed our meals. Food Coma was so worth it!!! Was in the mood for some Crispy Gorditas , and saw Las Palmas was local. Let me tell you this place has pretty much everything you can think of thats delicious!! Quality homemade Agua Frescas! You can taste the rice in the Horchata and see the little cinnamon shavings- super flavorful and not overly sweet. Ordered 2 Gorditas : one of Chicharron and the other was Tinga de Pollo. Definitely the Chicharron was the all-star for me. Also sampled a Pambazo which is like a Torta fried with tasty Carne Asada. Whelp! I gave it a try. Not a fan. Placed an order for takeout. We ordered 2 asada tortas, 1 chicken torta, fries and a kids burrito combo. First impression was on the phone. Lady was rude and sound like she was rushing me to order. My fiancé went to pick up the order and aside from already waiting 25 minutes, he waited an additional 15 at the restaurant. It's cool but it would have been nice if they acknowledged you to inform you of the extra wait. Food was meh. Salsa sucked. But damn those fries were horrible! Jamaica was meh too. Although I didn't like it here and have no idea how they have their 4 stars, I wish them much success to their business. read more

Dirty, unwelcoming and dark not sure how they are still in business. They don't even have a restroom to wash your hands in. They take you to their kitchen sink. I've been to this place three times now and it's definitely my top 3 if not best for mexican food nearby rowland heights. I like that they serve up pambazo which is a torta but with a fried, chili-soaked bun. No one serves this in the area so if you want to try it you have to come here. Another thing is that their birria is with goat not beef like most places and I love me some chivo. I've tried their asada, al pastor, and lengua also; all good. I was thinking of where to eat for dinner and realized that I've never left a good review so I'm writing this before I head there now so that I can try their gorditas and other meats. Some of the food has good flavor like the fried quwsqdilla, but the worst is when you order asada and it's disgustingly unedited because it is mostly fat and nerve and it taste old the whole meal is ruined.So if you can get past that then I guess this place is for you. read more

Love the food here. Tijuana/Rosarito style asada (closest you get without driving across the border). Everything is made fresh even the salsa. The prices are fair, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy and there are no public restrooms. So maybe just get your food to go but you got to try it. I have been to all the mexican food places in town and for taste this is my favorite. I love the Carne Asada Burrito and the Asada quesadillas. read more

When I arrived there was no one there. Shortly after, 6 people arrived for to-go orders. Four of them were served before I received my order. I dont mind waiting if: 1. The food is good and 2. Horrible service. The man that took our order acted as if we knew what they carry already, 2nd he was rushing us to give him our order when there was only 2 other people in the restaurant. When we started to order we asked questions like what comes inside the burrito or what else comes with the quesadillas etc etc and he's reply was like if we should already know. I told him it's our first time here we are not familiar with your restaurant. By this time I was already annoyed so I told him we would be leaving. I always try to give business to local business owners in my neighborhood and this is what we attempted at this locations but turned out to be a fail. I see why this place was empty. Update: I decided to try this place again since the first time was a 5 star review. Well I must say it went down to 2 stars for me. My order was made within 15 mins which was great but I really think it was due to them trying to get my order out without caring for what I ordered. I ordered a red wet burrito with asada meat and a green wet burrito with pork carnitas, 2 cheese fried quesadillas and a kids meal ( chicken nuggets and fries). I should've checked my order before I left well I didn't so I came home with 2 green burritos with pork carnitas ugghh I was really looking forward to trying the red wet burrito because it looks bomb in the picture...the burrito was good they do put a lot of meat and salsa....and well for the nuggets they're ok it's real chicken..the fries were too thin and very oily. The quesadillas were bigger than expected but hardly had any cheese (I had ordered the quesadilla with pork grinds but they were all out) and I had asked with what meats do they sell with and he pointed to all meats then says oh no we ran out ook. I might go again but not too soon I'll have to get over them messing up my order first read more

Everything was delish, the only item that wouldn't recommend are the tortas de milanesa, those were lacking flavor. Service was a bit slow, but I totally understand since they are short staffed. My family and I have been living in La Puente for two years we were not very familiar with the area and we would always stop at the meat market next-door to get our meat and a few other Goodies that we like. the other day we decided to just go in and try their food and I was really spectacle about the restaurant because it needs to be updated so that it can attract more attention but the food is delicious I ordered the Carne Asada gorditas and the fried quesadillas my husband ordered tacos and a wet burrito and We were blown away We felt like We were eating grandmas home cooking. As a caterer my self I really recommend this place I give the food a 4 star if the place would be updated definitely a five star read more

Great food, they have normal sized servings as opposed to those you would normally find at a Mexican restaurant, which I like. The prices match the smaller servings, and I guess if you're still hungry, order a second. It still probably be less money than one dinner at the crappy chain Mexican restaurants. read more
