She drove from the West Covina mall all the way up to La puente high school 3 TIMES just to make sure it wasn't there. She's been driving for 30 minutes with my toddler now it is 11:12 PM. Her order was supposed to be ready at 10:41. They must've closed early because they are supposed to close at 11 PM. Bachiyaki is no longer in La puente . March 7th 2026 . There is a new truck that's working with Bachiyaki called Flamin Hibachi . Relatives or pals ? Who knows but from their bold statements on Instagram stating that food is "made to order " it's completely false . This truck is not cooking fresh food . I'm not going to say it was Horrible but being in the food industry myself ; stuff like that stands out as a profit business rather than a people's business . Yea we purchase from these food trucks to support the Owners of the company but to serve the people with premade food that's been sitting out and reheated isn't necessarily for the people . It's just a money grab . We want hot fresh food not left overs from the last batch . Rice was sitting Veggies aren't that flavorful I got more fingers on my hand than I got chicken in my bowl Ontop of the food sitting out ; so was their sauces . They aren't refrigerated in order to preserve its flavor . They just marinate in the hibachi heat the truck produces . I ditched "mihibachi" that's down the street ( by the dmv ) for "Bachiyaki" but after this experience with the new chain "Flamin hibachi" I know if I go to "mihibachi" I'll get some fresh food . Love this place!!! I came here with my bf because he's been wanting Hibachi we haven't came because I tried it once before and I did not like it. I decided to give it a try because we had seen this place when we've came to Aldi. I was a bit unsure at first when I looked them up on Yelp and saw a few bad reviews. Glad we still gave them a chance, Jackie took my order, amazing customer service (: she patiently waited for us to be ready to order and answered all of our questions. Now to the fooodd, Ruben prepared our food and it was fireee, I'm a picky eater, and though I was giving it a chance I was not expecting it to be this good. I'm disgusted by this place. Yesterday I went during the Christmas tree lighting in La puente and the guy who was taking the orders with his hat on backwards was coughing everywhere. The Mrs and I had a chicken plate each, one with fried rice and one with regular rice and an order of noodles. The noodles was, in my humble opinion, a small portion. The plates were filled but mainly with rice. Your get two free choices of sauces, the sauces are EVERYTHING! They literally make the meal. When it comes to flavor though, it's just ok. This place is delicious and affordable for what you get. My husband seen it on Instagram and wanted to try it. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much, I thought it was gonna be like a glorified waba grill but I was wrong! I love Benihana and this tasted soooo much like it. Mostly due to their Garlic butter sauce. I'm not sure if they load it with so much garlic or if it has horseradish in it, but it had the same flavor and heat that benihanas mustard sauce has and that's my favorite! So I was in heaven eating my bowl from here. Also, we ordered it online. Drove 15mins to pick it up, it was ready. Drive 15mins back home and the food was still hot and fresh. CONS: -I wasn't a fan of the type of rice they use, it had the texture of brown rice and was pretty short/thicker grained... but it still tasted delicious. Their veggies were so fresh and cooked perfectly. -there isn't a description of what their sauces taste like so it was like choosing blindly. I'm so glad I chose the garlic though, I will get that every time! -the pieces of steak were cut too big imo, but again that's just my opinion. I'll be coming to this place way more often! read more

The price is debatable since it's a truck but I get it since it's primarily meat and rice. We were told at the window to order online because he was alone. Fried rice was overcooked. Filet Mignon was cooked medium as ordered but lacked any flavor. Portions were good. Came with 2 free sauces for each combo but none of them were labeled. We were supposed to try 4 different kind of sauces but only got 2 kinds. Gimme a break. Ordered 2 steak bowls on DoorDash late at night. Felt like my food came out super half assed. There is no option to customize how the steak is cooked and I prefer mine more rare...the steak literally came black and burnt on a lot of the sides. The plates are stacked up with rice (atleast it good rice) and had a little bit of meat and like 5 pieces of veggie. Or second plate, chicken, fried rice and veggies. Our third plate was a side of noodles. Keep in mind if you order fried rice its an extra fee. The total was over $80. We don't mind the price but the quantity of food we received doesn't make up for it. We had sooo much left over rice that I was able to meal prep my meals for the whole week.
