Saw doctor Christine Kim just a few months ago and she prescribed me Acezone. For some unknown reason, she didn't put any refills on it but told me to take it regularly. For other topical medications, she's always written refills. Figuring it was an oversight, I called them on Feb 19, and the idiot who answered promised a call back same day. Two days later? Nothing. Crickets. This is the 2nd time I've called for something important only to never receive any call back. I conveyed the urgency in my call but once again, my message went into a black hole. El Segundo derm, you just lost 2 customers due to your incompetence. I will return to me west LA derm even if its further away. At least they answer calls and don't shady back bill like you guys. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Javahery for a few years (I've followed her from Long Beach) for my acne and microneedling treatments--she's made such a difference in my skin, I feel like a new person. Almost like her new office! It's is so new, clean, and beautiful (I always feel like dermatologists have the nicest offices, but wow!). I can tell Dr. Javahery really cares about me, listens to my concerns, and never rushes me. I feel like a human being instead of a patient. She is very knowledgeable and kind. I rarely yelp, but my experience with Dr. Javahery was nothing short of traumatizing. I came here for Botox because I was tired of driving two hours to see my fancy Beverly Hills dermatologist. My friend referred me to Dr. Javahery, and I figured Botox can't be that hard. I booked a 9:30am appointment, which I was told was her first of the day. Day of appointment. After waiting 20 minutes, I see Dr. Javahery. She was pleasant, professional, and appeared competent. I tell her where I want Botox: forehead, crows feet, in between my eyebrows. She starts with my crows feet. I notice she appears to be trembling, but I think, "I'm probably just being anxious." She moves on to my forehead, and it's clear her hand is shaking. I still don't say anything, thinking it will be okay. Then, SHE STOPS THE PROCEDURE AND SAYS SHE CANNOT FINISH. She says she had too much coffee and no food. I wonder if she has a drug or alcohol problem. She then tells me her PA Christina will have to finish. What?! Christina was fine. This was the 20th time I've had botox and the first time someone who wasn't a doctor did it. She finished my forehead and in between my brow. It's not as natural looking as my previous doctor's work, but I don't feel self conscious about it. Checkout. Here comes Dr. Javahery again. She apologizes, then says how bad she feels and, "I feel like we need to give you something for free." She then proceeds to look at me with her head tilted like a dog you've asked who's a good boy. Nothing. She does nothing. Feeling so upset about the whole thing, I can't bring myself to ask this chick what she plans to do. She offers nothing but empty-headed stares. Two hours after the appointment. Dr. Javahery and her shaky hands clearly screwed up my eyes. My face is now asymmetrical. I'm very upset and can't stop staring in the mirror. Reminding you, this is the 20th time I've had Botox, and I've NEVER looked distorted. I call the office and make an appointment with Christina for a few days later, hoping she can fix this botched job. Later, I get a call from Christina saying she won't do any injections because it's too soon. Okay, whatever. That's probably a good idea, but I felt so eager to have my face fixed. I book another appointment the following week. The day of the appointment, I woke up and could not bring myself to go back there. I call 15 minutes after they open. No answer. I left a message cancelling my 4pm appointment. Guess what happened at 4:15? They call and ask where I am. In conclusion, while doctors are also imperfect human beings, Dr. Javahery should be enough of a grownup to eat before work. Moreover, she should have been professional enough to realize she couldn't perform the task instead of starting something she lacked the competency to finish. I can't imagine having her perform surgery with a scalpel on someone, and that's why I posted this. I'll never complain about the long drive to see my dermatologist in Beverly Hills ever again. read more

I wish I can give them zero star. First of all, they have very unprofessional accounting department and management. They have no idea how to bill your insurance company or how to code the bill right to your insurance, so they end up sending the bill to you. The doctors want you to come back 20 times for simple procedure, so that they can bill you 20 times. Just save your time and your money, see another clinic, instead of this nightmare and unprofessional clinic. Very disappointed!! read more

Dr. Javahery is excellent. Her attention to detail, knowledge, and her focus while listening to my concerns are truly above and beyond. She is a true professional. I have seen her for years and have had skin checks, acne treatments, laser and cool sculpting, and fillers and Botox. Needless to say, I've seen a lot of her work and she's excellent. I have always walked out feeling like I've been put back together. She uses fillers and Botox with such skill that she's able to keep it so natural-looking, which is truly an art. (I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting the 10ish days for my Botox to fully kick in.) She's just awesome. She has also been great with my young kids. My daughter, at 3 years old, needed to have bumps removed from the back of her leg. I thought it might be kind of traumatizing but Dr. Javahery was so calm and gentle and explained everything to my daughter with such patience and care that my daughter didn't shed a single tear during the entire procedure. And when the bumps showed up again months later, my daughter didn't even mind returning to the office for another procedure. She was 3 1/2. Dr. Javahery also removed something precancerous from the side of my husband's face and I can't even see where she did it. Other than that, the office is immaculately clean and very well run. The staff is friendly and professional. I haven't seen the other doctors in the practice because I always wait for an opening with Dr. Javahery but I've heard they're also excellent. This practice is truly top-notch. read more

Dr. Phillip & the staff at this location are incredible!! They are very sweet. I took my mom there twice and both time they were very nice and took care of her. So thank you guys! So I took my mom back today (04/05/19) to get her stitches out and the girl that helped was ehh. She didn't smile or anything. Dr. Christine Kim and the El Segundo Derm staff are seriously the best! All of my experiences with Dr. Kim have been nothing short of great so far -- I've found her to be very attentive in her patient care with me, addressing each of my skin concerns and questions (no matter how big or small), tailoring her recommendations for treatment to my specific skin type, and overall was very informative and educational about skin and skincare in the process. I had come in for a preventative skin screening to make sure some of my new moles and freckles were not cancerous. Fortunate for me, the screening was quick and everything checked out fine. But it was during this first visit, that Dr. Kim really turned things around for me and helped give me back my confidence. While my appointment was not initially for an acne consult, Dr. Kim took that time to address the painful cystic acne breakouts that were clearly all over my face that day (adult acne, ugh!) I appreciate that she took the time to evaluate my skin type and skin tendencies, and then tailored her recommended treatment to my tricky Asian skin. Finally after 3 months of a topical regimental treatment, I can now say I no longer wake up to new cystic breakouts and am nearly acne free! Now that the acne is out of the way, I'm considering treatments to improve my skin discoloration from the old acne scars, for which Dr. Kim also provided me with multiple options for treatment (all without ever once being aggressive or pushily upselling their other services and products) and even walked me through the considerations and details for each of the recommended treatments. So far I'm very happy with my skin results and I would absolutely recommend Dr. Kim and the El Segundo team for all your dermatological needs! I'm sure when it comes to cosmetic treatment stuff, this place is probably good for that. But if you're looking for medical treatment, I'm not sure if I'd recommend it. Like other people, I always look for Yelp reviews before going places. I saw good reviews about dermatologists here and Dr Kim stood out. Unfortunately Dr Kim didn't take new patients at the time so I had to go with Dr Tran who was the only one available at the time. I was disappointed of how I was being treated, her poor decision, her manner, and the way she talked to me. She barely took time to talk to me. I talked to her assistant even more than I talked to her. It's funny that one of her assistant seemed to be even more experienced and was more professional. I was surprised that my Derm never knew about my problems and acted like it was the first time she ever heard anything like that when I'd been telling her assistant about it. I mean why would she know when she barely spent time talking to me. I just don't think it was a good fit and I felt very uncomfortable every time I went there. Some front desk staff had a very poor manner too. Maybe it's something to do with a bad management? I dunno. I'd been going there for 3 months and decided to look for somewhere else to go where they don't treat patients as a joke. Earlier this week I asked for my medical record from the office on the phone in order to bring to my new dermatologist. The same day at 6 pm, I was in the meeting, I got a call from dr Tran, asking how I was doing. I bet she knew I was going to leave. It's just really weirded me out getting a call after business hour, hearing excuses. Everything she said came off really awkward and insincere. Perhaps Yelp bad reviews made her uneasy. Now I already found a legit doctor who is really nice, more competent and actually takes his time to listen and talk to me more than 2-3 minutes. read more

I recently visited El Segundo Dermatology for the first time and had an appointment with Dr. Camouse. We arrived on time and only had to wait about 5 minutes, which was great! While we waited, the office receptionist was kind enough to put on some cartoons for my 3 year old, and they even have snacks and water. Plus the office is beautiful- its rare you see a doctor's office this nice! Dr. Camouse was great as well, super friendly and was able to help me with my skin issue right away. Glad to have found a new dermatologist I like, its never easy finding a good doctor. read more

If you're looking for a new dermatology office THIS IS IT! I have seen Dr Javahery for years so when my 11 year old girl started having acne I called El Segundo Dermo. Sofia, the office manager recommended Christina Beck the PA (physicians assistant) and said how good she was I jumped all over that. In the appointment Christina spent a lot time teaching my daughter HOW to take care of her young skin with nutrition and washing. When to wash and how. My daughter plays sports and she told her to make sure she's washing right after either with wiped or water. Within 3 DAYS my daughters skin was visibly better. I would highly recommend Christina Beck for both teens and adults. So happy we found her! Also, great office and super nice office staff! Paper work can all be done by email which I love. read more

While I hate their hours and their lack of weekend openings, this place is great. The place is state of the art and everyone is super friendly. They have netflix available in the rooms while you wait or get your treatments and they have snacks if you're going to be there a while as well. I will give 2 stars instead of 1 because my son actually liked the practitioner he was seeing. I use to go to this location myself, but left due to the lack of communication/ inability to talk to anyone in the office. I was once again reminded today why I left, and will now be finding a different doctor for my son. When a simple request to have a doctor call you back to discuss some issues, is met with the receptionist calling you back 10 minutes before closing, with no more of an answer than you had earlier , nor the ability to answer any of the questions you had earlier... there is an issue. read more

This first visit I had here was great. The doctor and nurse were both lovely. I had a second appointment to follow up and I had to cancel because a work meeting was scheduled on that day. I called two weeks in advance to cancel my appointment and the office person told me that there was no problem with that. The day after the appointment I was charged $90 dollars for an undisclosed reason. I paid for my first appointment right after it so there is absolutely no reason I should have been charged $90. I have been to many Dermatologist and have spent thousands on skin care, facials and products in an effort to control my on again and off again hormonal acne. I lost faith in dermatologist because they would rush the appointment, not examine your skin, and always prescribe medicines that would make things a lot worst and I would just give up. This resulted in me relying on holistic skin care and going to skin spas for facials, and avoiding dermatologist all together. Facials provide a quick fix but they rarely address the source of the problem. I had a terrible break out in November 2017 and after spending hundreds on facials and store brought mask without any results, I was desperate and went to yelp to try to find a skilled and competent dermatologist . That is when I found El Segundo Dermatology and decided to give them a try. I booked an appointment with Dr. Ashley Magovern and this decision was the best thing that EVER happened to my skin. Dr. Magovern and the entire staff there are amazing at what they do! She actually listened to my concerns and the history of my skin issues. She asked questions to understand what was going on and thoroughly examined my skin. She put me on a detailed step by step regimen, and gave me a realistic timeline on when I would see improvement. This is part of the reason the treatment is so successful because they actually give you written instructions and encourage you not to give up if things get worst before they get better. In my case, the regimen that I was placed on has me with beautiful glowing skin and I never went through a rough stage before it got better. Even with my skin looking and feeling its best in less than 4 months of starting treatment, I will continue to see Dr. Magovern to ensure I will always have beautiful and youthful skin. My daughter has been going to the ES Dermatology for about a year and a half for her acne. Her first doctor, Dr. Wang, helped tremendously. Unfortunately, He left the practice and she was assigned to Dr. Tran who she saw just once. Dr. Tran soon left and then was assigned to Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim seems good and she suggested a 40 minute medical facial for $80. Last Friday, she had a 4:00 pm appointment and at 4:25 pm, she was texting me to pick her up. $80 for a 25 minute facial is kind of a rip off. The "facialist" said her acne wasn't that bad and she could have left her steaming her face but that could have dried her skin out. Still a bit much, some businesses take advantage of kids thinking that they are not paying attention. Bottom line...don't do facials there. read more

Five stars for El Segundo Derm, specifically Christina, Dr Kim, and Alicia! I have major skin damage from years of fake baking and laying out, which causes me extreme anxiety. I'd been seeing a different derm for several years and he is fine...but I felt like I needed someone who was a little more thorough with my skin checks to alleviate some of my stress about skin cancer (I've had many biopsies and several basal cell carcinomas in the last 3 years). I'd heard great things about Dr. Camouse and Dr. McGovern so I thought I'd give El Segundo Derm a try. I wasn't able to get in to either doctor, and I was a little concerned about one spot on my leg, so they offered me an appointment with Dr. Kim for a few days after my call. I gladly accepted. Dr Kim was prompt in seeing me on the day of my appointment. She spent 10 minutes with me, listening to my history and my concerns before starting the skin check. During out time, she suggested alternating dermatologists to help ease my mind about my skin checks - which I greatly appreciated. I'd asked my other derm about this and he sort of rolled his eyes. She was very patient and diligent during the full body check, explaining why she was looking at a few 'things' in more detail, and removed one 'thing' on my back, with explanation of why she was doing so. Very favorable experience. Fast forward about three months - I'm almost due for another skin check, and I found a spot in a 'weird' place. Given my skin anxiety, I called the office immediately and shared my angst - with tears. They fit me in the following day, and Dr Kim was wonderful. She was patient and kind, and helped quell my anxiety immediately. Christina and Alicia did the same, both sharing experiences that made me feel I wasn't alone or crazy with my concerns. I'll definitely be back in a few weeks for my next full body scan. read more

What a bunch of crooked medical professionals! Came here because I had a random breakout for about 2 weeks when I have stopped having acne for some time now (24 years old). The doctor diagnosed me and said I needed to get on Accutane, one of the most powerful drugs in the acne space. It costs thousands of dollars and your tied up into the whole thing of getting blood work, prescriptions all that each month. I'll fully listen to medical professionals so I went to go pickup the prescription in which the pharmacist asked why I needed such a drug. She said its for very severe acne, its super expensive, and super strong causing lots of side effects. Its not for a mere breakout. I quickly called to complain and they had "promised to remove my claim through insurance and the charge for my shitty consultation". This was in February. Its August and im receiving collections in the mail and phone calls from collection bureaus! What crooked "medical professionals". I cant imagine how many people they have scammed into thinking they needed a thousand dollar drug they dont need. If my claim is not removed, i will report this business and have people look into how many in total "accutane prescriptions" are written from your office. If its an absurd amount you guys are in for a treat. My face alone in court is proof you guys demonstrated malpractice and are trying to make money off an innocent patient read more
