Most recently, it's been here for me when I come back from NYC and just want to get some shots up alone. Nothing as cathartic as grabbing the new basketball my Granny just got me, popping my airpods in, and doing the basketball workouts I used to do as a kid when hoop dreams were all I cared about. Something about reconnecting with that part of myself just eases the stresses that come with adulthood. I think that chubby insecure kid would be proud of who I am today, and that makes me smile. It's good to look back at your past and appreciate who you've become... But don't stare at it, or you'll end up staying there. Look back, smile, and keep pushing forward. People in this community are friendly.Park is clean and safe for children and families. No homeless or trouble makers lurking around here because Manhattan Beach also have a wonderful Police Station as well not far by. I like this park when coming to the South Bay.

There's also plenty of shade, lots of benches, and spots to sit. The only downside is that the bathrooms are usually closed, and the park itself is sometimes locked without any explanation. We went this Saturday with the kids and found it closed, with no sign saying why or when it would reopen. That was really disappointing.

The entire park, including the library building, covers only one square block, but what a lovely space it is. So, in this town square with old shade trees and a band stand are benches with dedication/memorial plaques. This is just a simple nice/clean park. The concert series was really fun.

When was the last time you saw a park with a band stand? How very cool. It's Library Park's crowning glory, as there are no sports facilities.......just beautiful areas designed to be eye candy. Like the rose garden. The entire park, including the library building, covers only one square block, but what a lovely space it is. The sports fields, basketball courts, and playground are behind the school just west of Library Park (see photo), allowing the central park to remain pristine. So, in this town square with old shade trees and a band stand are benches with dedication/memorial plaques. As I review more and more parks, I find myself pausing to read the words. And I have discovered that beautiful sentiments are found in parks. Such as the one on the bench in Library Park that reads "Meet me in the garden, Gardener Bob". Who knew that reviewing parks would become a spiritual journey? I thought I was just out seeking exercise. I found much, much more. And I have only just begun.

The Fiesta La Ballona event is hosting at Veterans Memorial Park, which is located at the…read moreintersection of Overland Ave and Culver Blvd. The event has a lot to explore, live music and performance, rides and games, vendors from small business, community and public service departments, food trucks, and a beer garden near the entrance and the exit. There's a lot of fun, but you'll expect it's crowded and lack of shade, the limited covered seating area got occupied quickly, and obviously overpriced food and drinks.

Unfortunately, I witnessed an employee deny access to an attraction to a special needs child. The…read morechild had gone on the attraction prior with no incidents. He decided to go back with an adult and was denied access. The employee didn't even have a reason why on why he was denying access to the child. The employee was asked multiple times for his reasoning but he just didn't have one. The employee was ableist towards a small child and the supervisors did nothing to rectify the situation. I wouldn't bring your family here because they're discriminatory and ableist towards children with special needs!

Great place to take the family and check out the spheres at MacArthur Park. Yes it is a little…read moresmelly and dirty but it's just beautiful when the sun is setting. But yes the water is very dirty dark and make sure your cell phone or you don't fall in. Love how the water fountain may hit the spheres make that awesome sound. Love the colors of the sphere and design. Parking is in the street. They maybe another around the corner but we came from 6th street. Bring some snack or buy some stuff there.

I highly recommend Beach City Baseball Academy to any athlete with a desire to learn how to play the game the right way, and who has a drive to improve and grow as an athlete. I needed to tire a couple of kids out and get them out and about on a beautiful summer day. Kids…read moreare into technology way too much but not on my watch. We packed the wagon with snacks and water, put on the sunblock and off we went as the 5 year old told me exactly where to go. This park is huge. Has plenty of grass and hills to roll down, a softball field to run on. Plenty of ladybugs to catch, bees to watch out for and dandelions galore. There is also plenty of swings, random play things, serious climbing equipment and long slides that I thought were outlawed. The monkey bars are suitable for kids even though they look gianormous and that slide? It's like a mini splash Mountain drop. They blocked off the adjoining mini structure to the date devil one so the little ones dont get access to something to big for them. However your little ones may just want to climb up to the top anyway. Just let them do it. You know you climbed higher than them when you were young. Bathrooms were clean. The park is well kept. I saw city employees doing their thing when we were there.
