What a wonderful experience! This place has open seating with booths and tables. The interior has colorful murals and there looks like there is live music at night. Our server was great and got us everything we needed. We ordered birria tacos, asada tacos, and a side of rice and beans. The birria came with consume and it was delicious. The asada tacos were even better in my opinion. Their tortillas were made in house and fresh. Their salsas are made in house and are definitely worth trying. This place used to have good food before Covid. 1st time back in 3 years, and food is Horrible. Went in to order take out. The restaurant was completely empty, I should've taken that as the first sign! Quesabirria tacos are dry, tasted like super old tortillas, and the meat was probably not fresh either. They just didn't look appetizing nor tasted good. The consume on the side that came with the quesabirria tacos was warm-cold, not warm-hot. The tamales de elote and pork had simply no flavor what so ever! The pork one's were dry, and they both were even cold in the middle!! I'm pretty sure these were even frozen and then put them in boiling water or microwave. The only food that was a bit decent was the tacos de asada and pastor, and I say this because they had to at least cook the meat... I'm never coming back to eat this restaurant's food every again. I'm giving it 4 stars because the quesa birrias weren't as good as before. The place has changed its name and is no longer El Sinaloense. They now offer a Sunday buffet with a good selection of brunch foods and complimentary mimosas. The staff could be better organized, but they are very nice. I went to this place because someone recommended it to me. I was in the area for the weekend and so I tried it out. A few things, it lacks consistency in the name itself and inside the restaurant as well. Is it El Sinaloense Tacos & Beer or Mariscos & Beer? Name doesn't match at all. Inside the menu says Mariscos & Beer, but it's still labeled as Tacos & Beer. Anyways, we were the first one there and it smelled nasty as hell. It smelled like rotten eggs and honestly I don't know what else but it wasn't pleasant at all. We almost left. Lady sprayed a good amount of something in the air and the smell neutralized. Food-wise, we ordered two white menudos, with Hominy. I will be brutally honest. Menudo was a major upset. Like I almost returned the food. Why? Well let me tell you that it had no flavor. Like I took a sip and it was just water. A good menudo will taste amazing without anything added. I added almost a whole spoonful of salt, so much oregano, onions, a lot of lime and sauce. I put so much of everything I got annoyed because I kept adding more and more of stuff throughout my meal telling my lady "why is it not getting any flavor!?!?" The tortillas hechas a mano or homemade tortillas are fire. They slap but I cannot sit here and say the menudo was good. I was lowkey mad. The Michelada was a let down as well. Every restaurant have their own way of making a michelada, but man I felt like they put ice, clamato, lime & beer. I didn't finish it. I was annoyed. The food was okay. I thought their main red and green hot sauce were water down or didn't taste good. I ended up using Tapatio and the other bottled hot sauces they had on the tray. The services was good. She was nice and we were served within a reasonable time from the time we sat down. The problem I had with this restaurant was the 3% transaction fee for using a credit card. I've never paid a a transaction fee for any establishment unless the owner is greedy and passes the business expense to the consumer. I don't do business with businesses who charge a fees for buying their product/service. They are lucky to have my business, so they they should pay the business expense for accepting credit cards! It should never be a consumer expense. Stay away from businesses that charge a fee for doing business with them. It's just ridiculous. The least they could have done is announce or post information about the 3% fee for using credit card. At least, a customer has the choice to stay or leave. Surprising you with a transaction fee of 3% after finishing the meal appears to be a forced fee since there is nothing you can do, but pay it! A 3% fee of your total purchase can be costly. Think about it! They lost me and my friend has customers, so I'll never go back and pay a 3% fee for dinning at their restaurant. The food is okay, nothing outstanding. Food and ambiance are great. When I've dined in they have karaoke and it's a nice vibe, if you don't mind hearing people sing , some great and others not so great , still a great show ! Talk about a difference in opinions! My wife liked a couple of items and I didn't. We found this place on yelp since my wife was in the mood for some birria and they were open til 10 pm. When we got there the dining room had a few occupants but had plenty of tables. The dining room was nice and clean, and they had some music playing but it wasn't loud. The birria was pretty good in my opinion, my wife agreed on that. On the side I ordered a taco de birria that was also a quesadilla. The taco had a lot of birria with melted cheese and it was seared on the flat top in the birria juice. I had never had anything so damn delicious! I had 2 of those but could have easily gone for like 6 more. Where my wife and I disagree is on the tacos. We had tacos de asada and carnitas on the side and we felt totally different about them. I felt that both the asada and carnitas lacked flavor, she felt like they were good. My only other dilemma was that they don't have fountain drinks, only a few bottled beverages. Before covid, this place was pretty good. During covid I picked up a Menudo to because indoor dining wasn't allowed. Got it home and it was only a few pieces of meat and no hominy. Today I ordered 2 Pizoles via Post Mates. My wife's order was decent. Even though I ordered it with Hominy, they didn't add any. My order was terrible. Came with a ton of bones and very little meat. Way too much many bones for an order as seen on this picture. It seems that they're very stingy serving the food that you're actually paying for. Other items came out ok and seem to taste great but they're always forgetting or omitting something. The guy was pressing down RAW chicken on the grill then with the same gloves on he grabbed tortillas and cheese from the packages and started making quesadillas....contaminating everything. I tried the tacos before watching this... they were BARELY seasoned and the meat was cut in large pieces instead of chopped...poor quality and lots of fat. Five Stars field excellent food. The food was delicious! Great music! Zero Stars for cleanliness. Costumers had to eat on unwiped tables and with plates still on them. Someone did come and clean but was real slow about it. Taking back one or two plates at a time. Worst yet, they bussed the empty tables first and ignored a dirty table if a new costumer claimed that spot. Worst yet. They do not wipe the tables off. As for the floors there was food and paper plates. The floors were not swept. Even if there was a large pile of garbage on the floor. I will try this place one more time. The line at my favorite taco spot was ridiculous. So I left and started driving to another spot when I seen the "Tacos and Beer" sign on Sierra Ave. On a whim, I stopped in and ordered a few different things. I was really impressed in the quality and taste of their asada. The al pastor wasn't bad either. They also got some really good and really hot salsa. I thought King Taco red salsa was hot, but what they have here is, well, wow. I stick to the green salsa here now. I also tried their house melon drink. Sorry I forget the name. First time trying this drink anywhere. Wasn't sure what to expect. Although, I'm not a fan of pulp in my drinks, the taste was really really good and very refreshing. Like a non citrus lemonade is the best way I can describe it. Since my first visit I've came back here close to a dozen times. They've only been open for about a month. Haha. What can I say. The quality is consistent. And from what I've seen they aren't very busy. Feels like a hidden gem that few know about. I think it's just a matter of time before word gets out. P.S. I don't speak Spanish so sometimes theirs a minor language barrier with some of the staff at the register (very common in this area). The tacos carne asada a really good as well they come with avocado sauce which elevates them. And beans are delicious they have a special flavor something like chorizo inside them but it is so good you have to try them they aren't your ordinary beans. Weds. Is $1 taco day & the deal for THESE tacos CAN'T be beat. Everyday they have other specials as well such as BOGO beer & others also. We had them cater my daughters birthday party. Saw all the popping reviews, so I wanted to try this place out. Wasn't all that. There were plates there covered with flies coming in and out of the dining area. I ordered 2 tacos of asada and 1 of al pastor. I thought they got my order wrong at first too. I thought they gave me a taco of chicharrón with how hard and dry the pastor taco was. Hand made tortillas... Yea, okay, they weren't that good at all. Best part of my whole experience was their spicy salsa with no flavor. It really made my tounge numb so I wouldn't taste the rest of my meal. It was a godsend. Maybe I'll give it another try in the future, perhaps at a different time. Decided to try this place out yesterday.Based on the pictures and reviews I was hoping for a great place but it ended being very disappointing. I ordered 2 alpastor mulitas ,6 alpastor tacos and 4 chorizo tacos. The chorizo tacos were ok no complains there but the al pastor tacos and mulitas were super salty I was unable to even eat them. The mulita was very hard like over cooked tortilla and the green sauce it's pretty much water. The service was quick but they dont even provide me with napkins or anything on you to go order. I paid a total of 28 and some change so I wish it would of been worth my money read more
