    Breakfast burrito with potatoes

I lived in Arizona for many years and were craving an excellent breakfast burrito that was just impossible to find in this area until el sol came. The breakfast burrito with chorizo and potatoes is incredible and the best outside of AZ we've had. Also the empanada tacos and just general burritos all amazing

Incredible food, kind service, a perfect spot for lunch! I was blown away by the empanada tacos, and their guacamole is amazing. Portions were more than generous for a great price point! I tell all my friends to check this place out

First time there and the food is amazing , had one of the lunch specials (stew) and it was soo good, and not only was the food great but the service was also on point

Chorizo burrito, El Pastor burrito, and salsas (avocado, mango, green, and red).

Absolutely phenomenal hidden gem here in Stratford. Have driven by it a hundred times and never would have thought to stop. Was looking for a deli and most spots close early, but not El Sol! They have a really wide array of sandwiches, Mexican food items, and desserts. My wife and I got burritos (chorizo and el pastor) and we both agree this spot is our new favorite place in town.

Great food awesome prices! The steak taco was delicious and filling. Mango salsa was good and kind of spicy. I will definitely be back.

A Rooster metal art piece outside the establishment in Covid times as it hit eateries hard.

Great breakfast and lunches. Always good choices and tasty. Quaint little shop with full of brightness and a country feel. Great place for a quick take out, so delicious.

I work in Bridgeport and I'm always looking for new places to try. I came across this deli on my route to work. SO GOOD! yesterday I had carnitas tacos & today I had the beef empanadas. The tacos were STUFFED and the meat was fresh and tasty. The empanadas were also STUFFED! So good and such home cooked feel. Highly recommend! Definitely full and satisfied.

Great people and amazing food. Glad I found this place. More of a takeout spot not a lot of seating but we enjoyed the food!

So Acapulcos appeared to be easy-on/easy-off from the interstate (and it was), parking was ample, and we entered a cheery and colorful interior. We were greeted by the pleasant and friendly proprietor and served promptly. The complimentary chips and salsa were quite good ( is there anything better than warm, thin tortilla chips and a spanking bright salsa?). I had a combination plate, choosing a pork tamale and a chile rellano which also came with refried beans and Mexican-style rice. The chile rellano was excellent, fried nicely with a light batter and not excessively cheesy or heavy; the tamale was also very good, again not smothered in cheese or other extraneous toppings like big dollops of sour cream. Instead, you could really taste the tamale! My wife had a shrimp and avocado salad which she said was very good. Service was attentive and we loved the vibe of the place with its great music selection!

For small plates, we got the esquites and sweet plantains. The esquites was delicious. For the sweet plantains, they asked if we wanted the crema + queso fresco on the side but it still came on top. Plantains were alright, wasn't loving them though because they were drenched in the toppings. Kale salad was huge! Yummy and fresh. The food came out so quick. I love that they use corn tortillas for the tacos. The pork belly taco was drenched in kimchi, not my favorite but a good cut of pork belly. I like the lamb taco tasted just like a mini lamb gyro. The baja fish taco was my favorite though, it's comes in a huge slab. it was so good I ordered another. I love the chipotle sauce the Baja fish taco comes with too. The music was awesome too, such a vibe. A lot of EDM, felt like all they were missing was a disco ball. Very delicious, would come back.

Convenient for dine in or take out. We found the plantains to be well fried and deliciously sweet. The ribeye quesadilla was good chunks of beef, but while good quality, seemed to lack seasoning. Service was friendly but missed several things in our order. Had to catch before we left we had ordered a drink. Unfortunately did not find out until we got home they had not bagged the dipping sauce for the birria tacos.

I was having issues with the site, so I just called in my order, and was told they should be ready in 30 minutes. Alas, I was not, so pizzas ended up getting picked up maybe 60-90 minutes later. They were luckily still warm. And overall quite good! The birria was the instant hit and the first one that quickly went. We also loved the consume! Other flavors included a meats one, Buffalo chicken, and spinach and broccoli added on cheese. Being able to feed and satisfy a 9 person group for slightly more than $100 was great! I may add that I live 90 minutes from here and only come to this town 1-3 times a year. So, my friends usually take my suggestions and a group of eight of us showed up on a Saturday night with no reservation, and somehow the universe blessed us with a table. The place was packed, even the bar had people standing around it; so we knew we were in for a good night. One thing I loved about Cibus that night, is the crowd. It's a great mix of Hispanic and non‑Hispanic diners, which tells you the food speaks to everyone. The décor is warm and inviting, and the dimmed evening lighting gives it that cozy, "we're about to eat well" vibe. Parking was easy too. I have to admit I thought it may be harder to find parking but we found a spot right behind the restaurant, though street parking is also an option, but was packed. Our server, David, deserves his own shout‑out. Super patient, friendly, and ready with answers for every question we threw at him. He checked on us often without hovering, and everyone at the table agreed he did an excellent job. Now, the food...my favorite part. If you've read my reviews before, you know I eat everything but have a soft spot for Asian cuisine. And even though I'm Hispanic, I rarely go out for Hispanic food because I cook it well at home and most places don't impress me. Cibus, however, did not disappoint. Not one dish missed the mark, and the whole table agreed. We even ordered extra food to take home. We started with the Garlic Shrimp with Mofongo. The creamy orange sauce caught me off guard because it's not the usual style, but it worked beautifully. The flavors were balanced, the mofongo wasn't dry (thank you!), and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. We liked it so much we ordered multiple plates of this one; plus two Cuban sandwiches to go. The Cuban was tasty, though it could use a little more meat and sauce. The Ropa Vieja was another hit. Plenty of meat, plenty of sauce, and the black beans were flavorful. A sprinkle of fresh cilantro on top would have made it perfect, but that's just me being picky with my extra flavors and aroma. We also had the ceviche, the trio of little mofongos, and the Chips and Guacamole -- and yes, they make their tortilla and plantain chips in‑house. Not a single crumb survived. I tried the Tostones Sliders with pork, and I wouldn't change a thing. They were loaded with meat, had the right amount of veggies and sauce, and were just delicious. The only dish that didn't wow me was the Maduro with cheese. I love maduros, but the melted mozzarella felt a little plain. There's so much potential here, instead of Mozart maybe try some queso Mexicano, a small side of meat sauce, chimichurri sauce, or even a spicy drizzle could take it to the next level. Speaking of spice, I asked for hot sauce and was surprised to get a watered‑down Frank's RedHot. For a Latin fusion restaurant, something like Cholula, El Yucateco, or Tapatío would fit the Latin fusion theme so much better and elevate the dishes. But overall, Cibus is doing so many things right -- great service, great food, great atmosphere. I'm already planning my next visit and bringing new people with me at end of May.

The restaurant midsized, it's nicely decorated, clean, and good for groups too. The staff were very friendly, food was good, however the waitress was ok. She forgot to bring my appetizer and forgot to place my to-go meal in time of the kitchen closing. The waitress was apologetic and I understand humans forget things from time to time when you're busy. However, this evening was less than half full and when we left it was near closing time...only a couple tables were still there. The least they could have done was comp my meal or have the manager stop by to apologize. But that didn't happen, I just didn't want to make a fuss...so I paid the bill and time will tell if there is another visit in the future.
