I see the place is closed for "repairs". I think its more for bad service, no air conditioner, Roaches, and dirty place! Although the food is good, the burritos, tacos, nachos, etc the owner was/is too lazy to keep the place clean. He just stands in the front taking orders but would not clean the dining area or take out the trash. Dirty dishes left to sit for hours by the trash area and just as bad too cheap to turn on the air conditioner for his customers and employees. You could see the employees sweating wondering if the sweat dripped on customers food. I have seen roaches crawling by the food prep area I am sure this is the result of his laziness not keeping the place clean. Too bad cause their food was good. read more

Stopped in for lunch the other day because the In-N-Out had a line around the block. I had the super nachos and DH had the wet carne asada burrito. It was ok. Nothing special. The place was clean and service was friendly. DH found a bone in his meat . . . but he gave it 3.5 stars anyway. I would say 2.5, but then again, I ordered nachos, so what do I expect? A bit pricey for what we got - almost $10 with no drinks. And they had no Dr. Pepper which made me sad. Oh well! read more

I come here for the chorizo gorditas. Don't get Asada gorditas. Don't get pastor gorditas. Get chorizo gorditas. They remind me of the gorditas I eat when I go to Zacatecas. This is probably within my top 3 of Mexican food in the city. I think my two favorites are the pastor tacos and the chicken tostadas. Their shells have a pretty good crunch and overall it has good flavor. Prices are super reasonable and you never deal with stupid parking/huge crowds. read more

My parents like going here to buy the gordita special--2 gorditas for $5 something. I remember it being pretty good, especially the gordita with chicharones. However, I went here the other day and did not like this place at all. My husband got the 3 tacos w/small drink for $5 something. There was hardly any meat. The carne asada meat looked burned and did not have flavor. The al pastor meat was way too greasy and also lacked flavor. I ordered a "sope,," and it turned out to be one of the smallest and worst ones I've ever had---It had a few pieces of burned carne asada meat. The gordita I ordered was of al pastor. The grease soaked through the bottom part of the gordita, so I didn't eat the bottom part. To top it off, the place was dirty & empty. Not worth it. I would give it one star, but went with 2 instead considering that I used to really like the gorditas and that others gave pretty good reviews. We kicked ourselves in the butt when we saw Chipotle down the street on our way out. We will not be going here again. Taco Boy in Pico Rivera, off of Slauson, is wayyyyy better. read more

Today was my first time going to this place,,,I had a sope and some tacos ,,, I was blown away by the taste of the sopes they actually made the sopes from scratch they did not use those prefabricated ones and they used Mexican cheese and sour cream it gave it a very good and authentic taste,, the tacos were also very very good these are the closest I have had to home cooked ones,, the service was probably even better the girl in the front Isabel is doing a great job she made me feel very welcome and was very pleasant,, definitely a must try I was totally blown away and I will be going back read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would but since I have to put one l, one is all it will get. Never been to this place, but based on the reviews, we decided to try it out. Got to the location at 7:10 pm, door is open, open sign is lit, posted hours say it's open till 8:00 pm and people are in line ordering. Enter the establishment and we are immediately told that they are closed. We are a bit confused and my wife points out all the above mentioned things and the cashier says "yes we close at 8:00 but we are closing early today"...really?!?...then why is your door still open, sign lit and you are taking the order of the one person in front of us? I am so sad to give this place such a low rating.. Dont get me wrong the food is really good. I've tried the tacos, tortas, enchiladas, taquitos, sopes, burritos. Never had an issue with the taste of the food and the prices are very decent. The issue is with the customer service. I usually come in for lunch during the week. When I walk in I am greeted by a woman with short dark hair and she usually wears some type of beanie/ barrette. She's very nice and polite. I came in this evening to grab some dinner since I was running errands in the area. The cashier at this time was a way younger girl. She did not say hello, did not ask the courteous how can I help you or what would you like to order the way the other girl does. She was taking a phone order got off the phone walked away and began to do some other task behind the register and then decided to take my order by giving a glance and waiting for words to come out of my mouth. Gave my order, paid, was given my receipt. Not even a thank you! I instead told her thank you and she just turned away. This is super rude in my opinion. I don't expect to be treated like royalty but I do expect some manners as a customer. This gesture made me feel uncomfortable as my experience here never goes like this. So I get my food which took about 15 min for 4 tacos and a torta. There was hardly anyone at the time so I assumed it was swamped with phone orders so beware if you come during the dinner hour. I went back for my drink.. I waited as she finished with a customer she glanced over at me again speaking with her eyes and kindly I said I haven't gotten my drinks so when you get a chance can I get those please. Man did she take "when you get a chance" serious. She walked away to the back to grab salsas and what not to refill the salsa bar which at the time she chose to do it seemed unnecessary since no one was getting anything from it. She goes back does some other stuff behind the counter then asks what it was I wanted. Said thank you and went to enjoy my now half cold food. I came back to order a couple more tacos and absolute same thing happened again. I went to ask for a refill on my water she grabbed the cup and just gave it back. I understand we all have bad days. But your bad day should not reflect onto your work ethic and being kind to customers. Therefore this experience is why I chose to give such a low rating. read more

I have been eating at El super for twenty five years when they first opened the food is great the service is always great and the people who work there treat you like family. My favorites are the al pastor and Gorditas but all their food real good home style, so if you're in Pico town i recommend you try them out. read more
