It was really nice to go to a place that serves awesome food takes their time and has great customer service. The setting of the restaurant gave old school vibes. The asada and fried chicken were and another 10 levels above anything else I've had. That's because the quality of the ingredients were top notch. So much flavor I didn't even have to put salt! Another thing to rave was the cafe de olla, algo bueno. The coffee was so rich, better than any Starbucks guaranteed! Don't believe me come check this awesome gem here in Pico! The end of an era. These USED to be my favorite taco spot. If anyone recommended a place, this is where I'd send them. Unfortunately, they've changed recently. The meat isn't the same, it's bland and fatty. The red salsa isn't as good as it used to be. Chefs has been my local favorite. I am glad it still exists keeping a vintage diner/coffee shop style with an American style breakfast with some Mexican dishes to add. The service and hospitality has been great ever since the turn around from Covid. The coffee is great and they usually have daily/weekly specials adding on to the menu. Really good tacos. My wife LOVES the tripas because they fry them to a perfect crispiness. As for the service, well this is a Tacqueria not a full service sit down restaurant. My wife and I had the same experience with the waiters. They took our order from the counter and brought our food to the table but didn't do anything else. If I were to describe the kind of restaraunt I would call it a "self serve sit down restaurant". Not a deal breaker for us. The delicious tacos make up for their lack of service. read more
