I am loyal to Jesse's TDM, but I came here because they were closed around midnight when I had a craving. I thought the food was good, but it's not Jesse's. and That's what I was expecting. I will try this place again with more open expectations and maybe I can raise it so they can get that 5th star. On a side note: I don't recommend coming here too late. Ordered doordash on recommendation of a friend. That being said, you probably just need to come in. doordash does not allow you to get some of the delicious meats that are available, so I had to put that in the special notes which Doordash then called me over the phone to ensure that I wanted to pay more. overall, it wasn't bad for Mexican food, and it wasn't overly greasy which was good. There burrito literally could have fed like five people! See the pics! It was pretty good but with something that huge, the meat to tortilla ratio was so lopsided that I literally did not know how to handle that bastard! I also ordered the taquitos which were just okay, and I also had a quesadilla which was okay, the thing from me is that there's not a spicy enough salsa that would go perfect with it! I also ordered a Chorizo burrito which NOTE: is almost purely made out of Tony so so that is like a heart attack in a tortilla, nonetheless still delicious. The most delicious of all of what I ordered, was the lengua tacos which was amazing and of all of those things I ordered two and only got one through doordash, thank you for hosing me, I think I'm going back to Uber Eats! all in all, I would say this is pretty delicious food after you've been drinking and since they're open till 3 a.m., I may end up finding that out! read more

This is suppose to be one of my favorite places but EVERYTIME we go our order always gets fucked up. This is suppose to have extra of everything, (crema, guac and asada). And by the looks of it as you can see, it has just fries, cheese and asada with maybe a quarter scoop of beans. To top it off the fries are soggy and stale. Also my tacos were burnt and has little to no asada in them along with little to no cheese or lettuce and did not include tomatoes or anything that it said it did. My fiancé and I used to eat here a couple times out of the week and became cool with one of the employees so when our order would go wrong we didn't complain because we thought maybe we side tracked him by talking. Obviously that isn't the case, they don't work well at all under pressure. And to add on this issue, we saw the employee that made our food along with a couple of others go outside smoke a cigarette and then come back in DID NOT wash his hands and started handling the orders. This place has made us so disgusted. Won't be coming back here, EVER. Yelp you really need to make a 0 star option because it's what they truly deserve. read more

I've been eating here for longer then I can remember. The people who work here are so friendly and sweet and I love the food! I always order a burrito, usually beans, rice and cheese (easy on the rice but heavy on the cheese). It's my go to but I switch it up with asada or chorizo and I always do hot sauce on the side so I can put it on every single bite. Taco D is the best tacos and all of oxnard and ventura county. Where to start. You've got to try the wet burrito. This thing is like 5 pounds. Nothing else compares to this in the area. I've got to update my review. 4 stars for the food because I keep coming back, but I just want to let you know to never call ahead. I come here at LEAST twice a week and I call ahead every single time and every single time she tells me that it'll be ready when I come to get it. She even asks me how long I'll be and yet when I arrive, they JUST start to make it. So not only do I have to wait in line to tell her I called in, my food isn't even started. It literally never ever fails. The food is good so I keep coming, but don't waste your time and effort calling because trust me, you'll still be waiting when you get there. I have been going to this restaurant for nearly 30 years. Most of the time after 7pm. But this last 2 times I went due to Covid19 I went in the afternoon and boy I would never go at that time anymore. My food was very poorly prepared. Best beans and rice I've ever tasted. Literally life changing. Got 3 carne asada soft tacos, 2 carnitas soft tacos and a bean cheese and rice burrito to share between my boyfriend and I. The tacos were good but the tortilla was a little soggy from wrapping it in the foil but still very good. Better than being dry. Saved the bean cheese and rice burrito for home because we got super full off the tacos. This place is a must to try. And get the beans and rice. Soooooo good!!! read more

I'm not sure how long TDM has been around but my wife and I use to eat there at least twenty years ago. Not much has changed. Still the best burritos we have ever eaten. We now live in the Seattle area and came to visit family during Christmas. One of the highlights of our trip was the stop at TDM. Been coming to this place at least a couple times a month since I was a kid. The food almost never fails. I was once accidentally given an asada with relleno burrito, it's been my go to ever since. Burritos are good size and are delicious! They've been skimping on the tacos de papa lately so I haven't gotten them AS much. Never really felt compelled to write a review about TDM until last night. Never have I walked away from this place overly disappointed. Have there been times when my experience here has been less pleasant than others? Yes. But it's never been enough to consider not wanting to come back. Sadly enough it has NOTHING to do with the food and EVERYTHING to do with the poor attitude woman that was taking the orders. Acted as though she couldn't be bothered while we were giving her our order. We asked for the salsa and sour cream on the side, when we got our food we realized we needed the sour cream for the tacos de papa, my friend walked up asked one of the guys for sour cream, he was more than happy to get it for us, he walked over and already had it poured in a little container and the woman darn near shouts that we can't just have sour cream. My friend told her it was supposed to come with the tacos de papa she said you can't just have sour cream for free you have to pay $0.76 for it. and then rolled her eyes. My friend said "Ok that's fine if I have to pay for it then ok." but asked if she could use her card since she didn't have any cash, AGAIN this woman rolls her eyes, with hands on her hips and says "UGH! That's fine!" All the while the poor guy was standing there with the sour cream in hand looking like he didn't know what to do. Now, don't get me wrong my issue isn't that we had to pay $0.76 for sour cream (even though the tacos de papa have always come with it in the countless times I've ordered it before). My issue is with an employee unnecessarily giving me AND her fellow employees attitude and rolling her eyes. We don't go to a restaurant to be treated poorly simply for asking for sour cream. So, again my 3 stars is NOT for the food, but for the poor service from a disgruntled employee. read more

I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews. We were in town for a wedding and wanted a late night meal. A large group of us went and all left unsatisfied. The food is really really good here, but the customer service is the reason I have zero trouble coming here. There is a lady here that takes orders and she always has a smile on and treats you kindly. These days, that's all it takes to get a repeat customer. The asada here is better than anywhere I've had in Oxnard, it always has the perfect taste. Consistency is key. Carnitas is the second best, very juicy, very flavorful. The food is always piping hot and gets out to you quick. This place is always open, hours are awesome. Tons of tables inside of you want to sit and eat. While waiting in line, I was daydreaming and looking at the counter where they prepare the burritos. As the man finished and walked away, a damn roach crawled out of a gap in the counter and crawled over the area the cook was preparing the burritos. I've been coming here almost all my life and I always order the quesadilla con carne asada. The portions of meat and cheese is random though since sometimes they give you three really big tortillas filled with cheese and meat or sometimes really small pieces with a little bit of meat and cheese. Disclaimer the quesadilla itself is pretty greasy but really good. As for looks in the inside it's pretty outdated but that gives it the 90s feel in fact back then they had a arcade machine which they should bring back. The only thing I would change are the chairs there really worn down after all the years. Overall solid Mexican food and have to thank my dad for bringing me here he's been coming here since the 90s. read more
