Great Taco place... but... I ordered the Chilaquiles and got dry chilaquiles. Looked like they just put the tortilla chips in a smidge of sauce on a pan and then put them on a plate. I had been craving chilaquiles for a few weeks but too lazy to make them so I said "let's try them"... I will not be back until this change is made. Also, I would have a serious conversation and retraining with the cook staff. If I could I would give this place a negative 1 star. Food was horrible, over cooked, under cooked, no flavor, chewy, and tasted old. I got 5 meals and 5 drinks in total and the best thing was plain water. That tasted like tap water. Camarones a la Diablo where plain and honestly just like a red stew of nothing, shrimp cocktail tasted like off brand ketchup with no texture, burrito de asada was over soggy and dry and the meat tasted like rubber. Fish tacos tasted like over fried fish with no flavor except for old oil, and the burger was stiff and tasted like it freezer burned. I had just recently gotten a shrimp taco plate with an horchata & a burrito. The girl forgot to charge me for the horchata, so she had to charge me again separately, & it was more than what it would've been if it would've come with the meal; her coworker just said to give it to me for free right in front of me, but she still charged me right after, which is fine, but it just sucked I had to pay extra for a drink when it would've been less with the meal. The food was okay, the shrimp could've been seasoned a little better, but the way she had put it in the bag (on top of the burrito) caused everything to move to one side of the to go box, so when I opened it, the rice & beans were all mixed with my tacos, so it was just one big mess & I couldn't eat everything separately. The carne asada had a lot of fat in it and the meat doesn't taste fresh. Not sure if they mixed old and fresh meat together but the burrito doesn't taste like other places. The chef were nice but the order taker, young lady had major attitude and doesn't smile at all and you ask her something and she just gives you a mad face. Not sure what that is about. We shared two great burritos, the asada and the carnitas. Both were very well filled with tasty stuff. The red sauce is fiery. Chips were good, too, crunchy and not greasy. Currently it's all takeout. This is not elegant dining during usual times, but the food is good and plentiful. read more

Great place and the only place to go in Filmore after 8 p.m. Huge menu. Price range 10-15 dollars per plate. Fountain sodas are 2-4 dollars and no free refills. They use plastic and paper products. Extremely simple setting. Thankful the food was good. Perfect late night grub. read more

This restaurant is by far the worst Mexican food I've had and I normally do not post negative reviews I just go with the positive because I want people to enjoy a meal and not read about experience or the negative experience I have encountered. My wife ordered three rolled tacos for $6.50 they were burnt and they had other stuff besides meat inside the guacamole was disgusting I ordered a chill relleno and meat only burrito but they messed that up and put rice and beans so I sent it back. The cook was upset and what I got served I could not eat so I left it at the table. read more

The food at this restaurant was good about two years ago. Last Saturday, I ordered two breakfast burritos and two carne asada tacos. The food was BAD! No flavor and DRY tacos. Four people in the kitchen and no one knew what they were doing. Beware of the posted sign at the counter, "During busy times your order can take up to 15 minutes". El Taco Llama is your typical Mexican fast food joint serving decent chips, spicy salsa and wet burritos drowning in ranchero sauce and cheese. The prices are cheap and the food filling. I've never had anything that I didn't like here, but everything is basically "average." Although there are definitely better Mexican food restaurants out there (especially in this neck of the county), Taco Llama isn't a bad fast-food place to settle on if you're in the area. read more

I ordered two Menudos and one Posole to go with two flour tortillas and one corn to go. When I got home, the cup of "Posole" was just the broth with all the fixings in a separate container. It had lettuce and shredded pork instead of cabbage and chicken. Now for the Menudo, combine, there was barely enough for one serving, that's because both containers had two big bones which happened to be pork instead of beef. As for the tortillas, two packages, both corn. I will never go back to this place again!!! read more

I love this place the food is amazing the owner is nice. The place is open late which is super convenient because I work late and it's seems that everything in Fillmore closes at 9:00pm. My favorite item on the menu is ceviche and the chile verde. But everything I have ever tried has been off the charts authentic Mexican food. So if you have never tried this place or you are passing thru pull off of the highway not too far down the road on A st and try Taco Llama you will not be disappointed read more

Honestly, this place is the jam! If you're driving through Fillmore and in need of tasty Mexican cuisine... Do yourself a favor and stop at El Taco Llama. The service is exceptional and the food is legit. We got breakfast burritos, one ham/egg/potato/cheese/onions/cilantro/salsa - and one veggie burrito with eggs for me. Also got a scrambled egg on the side for the baby, because he should get to experience this delightful food as well. I know give this great little whole in the wall 5 stars simply because they now have Carne Asada fries AKA California fries and they are BOMB!!!!!!! Great authentic Mexican food! Very straight forward. Food is fresh and hot! Awesome salsa bar just how I like it. Fresh cut lemons, cut up jalapeños onions and carrots drowned in homemade vinager and lemon juice, sliced radish, green and red salsas, all self serve! I always get tacos de asada with everything and a bag of extra chips. If your going for take out on a Friday night, I recommend calling it in ahead of time, they get crazy busy on Friday nights! I also recommend their catering for parties. I booked them for my kids birthday and OMG!!! The food it's self was a show stopper! My guests were so happy and satisfied! They made everything to order. The biggest table they have seats four, and they're all booths, so no pushing tables together. Their Asada tacos are my favorite. The steak and cheese quesadilla is also a great choice. Horrible customer service. The cashier girl never smiled, was incredibly rude, and had a huge attitude. I had ordered a plate of tacos that came back with a huge amount of hot sauce on top. I can't eat that way too spicy. I tried explaining that to the cashier and return them for a new plate with NO hot sauce, but she refused to take them back and their was no manager at the moment for me to speak to. I was forced into buying an entire new plate of tacos if I was to eat there that night with the rest of my family. I was pissed. I think it's wrong what this place did and I was very disappointed, mad, and dissatisfied with how they treat their paying customers.
