so i was driving on the 605 and i was craving tacos... luckily this place wasn't too far. its very close by the 10 & 605 interchange. waze took me through a shady looking neighborhood and i was highly reconsidering going to this place, but i'm glad i stuck it though. i got a few tacos with different types of meats, and i was torn between the potato tacos and the fried quesadilla. i asked the lady working there, and she said get the fried quesadilla, but she warns me that they are extremely heavy. so only get them if you're really hungry. I'm glad, i opted for the quesadilla vs. the potato tacos... they lived up to their hype. this place doesn't have a lot of seating nor does it have any restrooms, so its best to take and go. for a place that changes ~1.25 for tacos, its not bad. and i didn't expect anything less coming from a place with taco in its name... well, i guess taco bell is the only exception. wtf are they thinking with their sad attempts at tacos. :( read more

I love their lengua (tongue) tacos!! Every time I get them they're always super tender and juicy whenever I order them and for only $1.25 each w/no tax. As for the carne asada, I've had better but the lengua tacos w/some horchata is definitely worth the trip over :) read more

I found this place searching yelp to satisfy my taco cravings. It's a bit out of the way for me but I'm so glad I found it. I've tried all their different fillings and my favorites are the carnitas, buche and cabeza. I went back 2 more times within a week and have told some friends about it who also agrees. Prices are amazing and quality is superb. Had the lengua, barbacoa, and asada tacos. Barbacoa had very nice subtle heat to it, asada was savory, and lengua was succulent and flavorful. Carnitas have a nice crunch to it and overall its good. But nothing too special. The chicken tasted different because you could actually taste the marinade. Unlike other taco places you just taste the bland chicken. At el taco man you can actually taste the delicious flavors it was marinated in. Good quality meat not that cheap stuff. I am a huge Mexican food connoisseur. I think I eat more Mexican food than Asian food and am always trying to find the next best taco location. Found this gem on yelp while debating what to grab for dinner. Small walk up window restaurant. Ordered the carne asada tostada, chicken taco and a carne asada taco. The carne asada was cooked perfectly! The tostada was still crispy even with my 6 min drive home. The chicken taco didn't wow me. I'll definitely stick to carne asada or try another type of meat. My biggest fear when it comes to Mexican food is.... The hot sauces. I always like to try the food without the sauce first to make sure it is good without condiments--and it sure was. The only reason this is getting a 3-star is because of the service during lunch. I understand that they love to prepare their food when you order, but during lunch time it's not a great idea. We had to wait 35mins for our food.during rush hour nobody really has time to wait that long for food. Something needs to be changed during lunch. Also another bad thing is if u order a meat they should be able to tell you when you order that they have ran out of that meat or Agua Fresca. The food and service here was great. I went here with my cousin on Sunday at dinner time. I ordered a beef quesadilla and my cousin ordered a burrito. The food came out promptly and was made fresh. My quesadilla came with pico de gallo and sour cream on the side and the portion size was pretty generous. My cousin also enjoyed his burrito. The service was friendly and polite and also pretty knowledgable as far as what was in their food and gave good recommendations. I also ordered an horchata which they said was home made. This is an okay place the food was okay, for a basic torta we paid a dollar more for guacamole and we basically barely got any the meat tasted old the ladies were rude and they don't have indoor dining so all the flies are getting a taste of your food. It was around closing time and the cashier was extremely friendly I assumed he was the owner because he was curious of our opinions. We had the Carne Asada Tacos, Lengua Tacos, and Fish Tacos. All the tacos were delicious and best of all cheap!! Unfortunately the second time we had a bad experience with the server. My sister and I had both ordered salsa on the side as we usually do. My order came up first and I saw that there was salsa on the taco I told the server politely that I asked for the salsa on the side, he got angry and accused me of not telling him that I wanted to salsa on the side. I just apologized because I did not want them to do anything sketchy with my food my sister reminded him that on her order she wanted salsa on the side too and he seemed irritated by our requests. Carne Asada is one of the popular meats to choose from, but I like to try other things when I go. Their kitchen is always clean which I really respect.
