They were open on Memorial Day. Parking is sufficient in the back but it's easy to miss the entrance. There's a restroom outside and you need a key. Inside, it's decorated with only three tables for seating. We got their burritos which are huge for the price. The California burrito comes with carne asada, potatoes, cheese, and grilled pico de gallo. I'll have to say they give a lot of the potatoes and very little meat sadly. As for the fish burrito, the fish is breaded and comes with carrots, rice, and guac. Maybe I'll come back to try a different burrito. Service was not bad. Was craving Mexican food and this place was closed by so I decided to check it out. I went on a Friday night around 10pm and there was no wait. The worker acknowledged me right away and was ready to place my order. The menu was pretty big so it did take me a while to decide what I wanted. I ended up getting the carne asada fries but with tongue instead. The menu stated we can get other meat instead of carne so that's what I did but I didn't know there would be an extra charge of $4 ish. I also ordered a shrimp burrito. I waited probably no more than 12 mins to get my order which wasn't too bad. The thickness of the burrito was average but it was longer than a typical burrito which I was happy about. They put in a decent amount of shrimps. I was able to get a piece of shrimp with almost every other bites. I also like the sauce they used and like how they put bigger chucks of tomato. After a bit of a waste of time at Enchant, we were definitely craving some authentic Mexican food to end the night on a better note. Luckily, this place was open until midnight, which worked out perfectly for us. My wife and I both ordered the Sobe plate with asada for takeout. We brought the food back to the hotel, and it absolutely hit the spot. The asada was flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. They were very generous with the portions, especially the meat, which was a nice surprise and made the meal even more satisfying. I was craving for carne asada fries, and I decided to come by. This is a small restaurant. There is a big parking lot in the back that has plenty of parking. Cashier was very friendly and service was fast. I got an Apple soda, and a cucumber lime aqua Fresca. The aqua Fresca was very refreshing. The portion of the fries was huge. It comes with a lot of meat, bean, cheese, and salsa. I like that the salsa was not too spicy that I can eat it. The fries was very crispy! I enjoyed the food. Had a craving for some quick asada super fries and ordered some for delivery. Alfredo's used to be my usual spot, but after trying the asada fries here, I can confidently say I've been converted! Sorry Alfredo's! Now, is it absolutely AMAZING and a must-try? No. Definitely temper your expectations; it's still a fast food joint. But if you live in the area and are looking for a super fries fix, this place hits the spot! Unlike most Mexican fast food places, their asada was not dry at all and was actually pretty good. Fries held their shape (not soggy) and they were very generous with the toppings! Lots of pico de gallo, guac, sour cream, and cheese. I also liked that they didn't try to cheap out by making it 50% beans- it was the perfect amount. Only thing is that the cheese wasn't melted but that didn't bother me since it was sitting on top of all the other toppings. P.S. Came here when it first opened and again recently. Ordered to go, there are seating available inside but we wanted to order and go back home to eat. The place looks the same, wasn't too busy but slow trickle of customers came in. Fairly clean and the place looked like there was a lot going on at the same time. We ordered a carne asada fries, a California burrito, and fish taco. The fries was as good as before, sometimes soggy in the middle but good amount of meat, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole. California burrito also was filled with fries and salsa. Very filling and refreshing. The fish in the fish taco was really good, unfortunately the corn tortilla was falling apart but the lettuce and salsa on top helped make it taste good. So it's been at least over a year since I have gone back here, but I really wanted some shredded beef tacos so I stopped here after shopping at Albertsons.... well I was so DISAPPOINTED AGAIN. Ordered the 2 beef tacos that came with rice and beans... the shredded beef in the tacos had no taste whatsoever the meat was awful but the rice and beans were good. I even saved one taco for my son and he totally agreed that it had no taste and needed to put seasoning and plenty of salsa on it. So sad to say they really need to step it up and we won't be going ever again... and it's sad because there aren't really any other good taco places around the area.. I love Albertano's! They have an amazing selection of Mexican specialties and I've tried many of them. The burritos are big and stuffed full of deliciousness. Their menudo is excellent, robust broth and clean tasting tripe and come with all the fixins. The rolled taquitos with guacamole are fresh and crunchy. I did have a slight issue trying to cut through the bottom of a sope with a plastic knife but it still tasted great. The ladies that work the cashier are gracious and helpful. Albertano has a really wide menu of offerings. My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast burritos. Sadly we came slightly after their breakfast time. They still offered the breakfast menu, but it costed more. Between 8-11am the breakfast burrito special with one protein is only $5.99/each. What a deal! After 11am, you pay the dumb tax like we did. My boyfriend had the Crazy Burrito ($10.80) which comes with bacon, sausage, egg, potatoes and cheese. I had the Bacon Burrito ($9.99) which comes with bacon, eggs, potatoes and cheese. I also wanted a Horchata ($3.25) which does not qualify for the check in soda deal, so my boyfriend got a Coke (Free check-in deal). My initial reaction was that the burritos were on the pricey side, but they were HUGE. I put my hand in the picture of the burritos so there is scale. It was enough for at least two meals for the average person. I had 3 separate meals out of my burrito. My boyfriend and I really should have shared. This is strictly a food review. I'll start from best to worst, but I left a TLDR at the end. The salsa was the highlight. Red had a peppery taste and green had a taste I can only describe as verde (green). Pretty good when mixed Their supreme asada burrito was nothing special except in size. Ton of beans, falling apart by the end cuz of how full it is. Ingredients are not evenly spread out. Barely any guac. They gave me 3 bitter old lime slices. Visibly yellowing and bruised. Dry af. Worst of all, I specifically mentioned that I cannot have any deep fryer oil due to a skin condition. Lo and behold, my skin reacted to their burrito, which I specifically ordered because it had no deep fried ingredients. Now I have an extremely painful cyst that I have to deal with for the next month that will remind me to I never come back here. TLDR: their burrito is huge but they lied about not using deep fryer oil in their non deep fried options. Red/green salsa are pretty good. read more

First time trying over the weekend and it was a hit. Two adults and three kids and one to-go order. Although the interior seating was small, probably good enough for 12 people, it had plenty of parking in the back. We came after soccer practice with our kiddos, and the pricing was a little higher than expected but, the food was definitely more than what we were expecting. Portion size was great and we had enough leftovers for the kids. We adults got the kids one nacho plate, one chicken nuggets and fries and another chicken burrito with rice and beans on the side. Adult one ordered a fish taco and the other five piece taquitos. The food was hot fresh and delicious. So much so that we had enough to share with everyone and enough to take away. It's a go order was another five piece taquito set, we purposefully asked for all the cool items to be on the side as to not warm up any of the sour cream or guacamole. staff was incredible and gave us great recommendations. I love that they were friendly and patient as we took her time to look over the extensive menu. We will definitely be visiting again! I love fries and compared to Alfredo's which is generally my go to, I would say overall it's slightly better. Comparing to the same super fries with pastor at Alfredo's: Fries- the fries were softer and I may even say that a couple pieces weren't cooked enough. Meanwhile Alfredo's is usually better but can sometimes be overcooked and stale. Al pastor meat- I think Albertano's wins just a bit in this category. The meat is a bit chunkier and more moist than what I remember from Alfredo's. Salsas- the red and green salsas are pretty much the same. I could say that Alfredo's was a bit thinner, but not noticeably. Guac, sour cream, cheese, etc. - Albertano's condiments are much more homogenized, while Alfredo's is a bit chunkier so really depends what you like. Albertano's doesn't seem to use as much condiments so in this area I would give it to Alfredo's. Overall a very decent super fries that I would order again. Maybe around 3.8 since it wouldn't be a go to but occasionally I would prefer it over Alfredo's, especially since I have gotten more stale fries lately from Alfredo's. read more

Their breakfast burrito is huge and does not lack flavor, bacon and potatoes cook to perfection with slight crunch. There was a time in my life when most of what I consume came from restaurants that ended in O's... Alberto's, Roberto's, Humberto's, Rigoberto's, Alfredo's... you get the idea, Mildred. Alas, my trips to places like this are much fewer and farther between, partly because I'm not getting any younger and trying to eat cleaner, and also because the old five dollar Carne Asada burrito is now a $12 investment. Diminishing returns, depending on where you go. But still, when my 14 year old son swims his little heart out at. water polo meet, and just has to eat some kind of monstrosity California burrito afterwards to put back any calories he accidentally burned off, well, I find myself back at those places that end in O, covered in red paint, and generally featuring some small sombrero wearing mascot akin to the Frito Bandito that pushes the boundaries to a simpler time, or at least adds a mild level of discomfort to the floor mats near the doors. When this location opened up near our home, I made a mental note to check it out, but until a couple of days ago, January 2023, I did not have an opportunity. The stars aligned, however, and on the way home from said swimming event, we pulled in front, parked The truck as tight to the curb on busy Live Oak as we could , and walked inside. The menu is lively and varied as you might expect: burritos, tacos, enchiladas, tortas, soups, and other delights that you would expect. Did I mention taquitos? Yes, they got them. Guac and cheese if that's your thing. Rico menudo Sabado y Domingo. My son ordered his usual: a California burrito, not really knowing what to expect from a new restaurant. The young lady behind the counter was attentive, cordial, and intelligent, the trifecta for a fast food Mexican restaurant. Within seconds, his burrito was baged and handed to him along with the requisite to red/2 green hot sauces. When he pulled it out of the bag, even I was surprised: the thing was massive-- long, heavy, and girthy. (Cue Michael Scott?) I did not get a chance to taste it, but based on my son's words and reaction, it was pretty darn good. He offered me a bite, and it was all I could do to stick to my nutrition plan. Summer is coming. In related news, when he weighed himself the next day, he said he had gained 5 pounds. I explained it was all water, and that he was a growing boy, and all that stuff... And like any teenager, he was able to blink a couple of times, and do six jumping jacks, and lose that weight. Remember those days? I sure don't. But as for this restaurant, it is a welcome addition to the neighborhood, in an area where several of the former regular-rotation Mexican restaurants have left us wanting lately. I'm looking forward to coming back here when I can actually drop 20 or 30 bucks and sample of goodly portion of the menu. The dishes are similar to other Alberto's franchises. I ordered carne asada super nachos but felt that the amount of asada wasn't proportionate. I felt I had to ration the carne asada so that each bite had a decent meat to chip ratio. I am comparing to the portions of my usual go-to Abelitos on Peck Rd in El Monte. The super nachos was very HEAVY on the rice and beans and not enough sour cream and guacamole. We also ordered a burrito that was also heavy on the rice and beans, with no meat towards the bottom half of the burrito. I felt I was eating a BRC burrito towards the end. One positive note is the convenience and location. Since there are no similar restaurant in the area and the nearest take out authentic Mexican food is Tacos Ensenada in Monrovia, I can see the locals coming here for a quick meal. Service is 50/50. The short cashier lady with the square glasses in the evening is MUCH nicer and will give you as many sauces as your heart desires. She's seems to keep herself busy always aware of her surroundings. The taller cashier in the afternoon with the fancy nails doesn't know the meaning of service with a smile. I didn't appreciate the eye roll when I asked for more salsa. FYI, the salsa containers are very small and you really need at least 6 to eat with a burrito. Her demeanor was that she didn't want to be there. In summary, I would visit again just for the convenience and short driving distance. I would still prefer the Abelitos on Peck in El Monte just because of the portions and they're open 24/7. I am also not accustomed being charged a surcharge when using a credit card to pay. It's a very minimal cost but most small businesses don't charge. I understand there are merchant fees but 4% is quite steep. Even the Mom & Pop Asian restaurants that were cash only now take card without forwarding the cost to the customer. read more

This small hidden small Mexican restaurant had just recently open and I tried it one night. I got two Al Pastor Tacos and a Mar y Tierra burrito. Holy smokes the size of the burrito was huge and filled to the brim with shrimp, beef, and other toppings. I thought the tacos were expensive but they are huge as well (1.5-2x the size of typical tacos). I love how the prices are very fair and the portions are generous. read more

I decided to just stick with the basics and get a carne asana burrito since there are no reviews yet. The burrito comes pretty simple with some guac and pico de gallo. No weird bells and whistles but sounds way too simple doesn't it? The first bite I had was really nice. Tortilla felt really fresh and flavourful. Finally open!! We've been waiting. Today I ran over and grabbed a few breakfast burritos for myself and my co-workers. They were heavy and a good size (see pic for size comparison).
