Frantically looking for a taco truck before an alcohol-fueled party, this was what came up a few blocks away from my friend's house. What a goldmine. Besides the 20 minute (!) wait, the burritos and salsa were delicious. Mind you, we bought these burritos before going to a big party so we'd have something to immediately munch on afterwards. These burritos held their own for 4 freakin' hours! I had an asada burrito with everything but no rice and every bite was just packed with flavor. The green salsa was excellent and perfectly spicy, at least for me. If you only have a mild tolerance for spice, I'd avoid it. My buddy had a chicken burrito and she was very satisfied. She worked thru the burrito and salsa like a champ while mouth breathing (spicy!!). I'd recommend avoiding the rice, as it kinda dries up the burrito. Again, if you only have a mild tolerance for spice, avoid using too much of the green salsa. Good shit. read more

Glad I found the newer location; actually just a few blocks from the Original (to me). Truck is newer & larger than my first encounter several years ago. The food and service IS STILL as I remember from the past. Great Asada, Carnitas etc; all seasoned to perfection. Limited days at this location is the Only negative thing I can offer. Coming from Paramount (562 area), where you can find a taco spot on every other block, it was very hard for me to find good Mexican food once I moved to SGV. Until I found this hidden gem. I stop by this truck twice a week, at least. The Carne asada is REALLY good! For those complaining that the food is too greasy, it's real Mexican food. If that's your concern, go to Chipotle. And if you haven't tried the vampiros, try them you won't regret it. Not very many taco places make them. As long as their food stays the way it is, I'm a customer for life. read more

The Tacos here are decent, a bit on the smalls side but cheap. The green sauce is delicious but beware, it is really spicy. The service is VERY slow. This taco truck was a favorite for our family. The food was good and the service friendly enough. Because of this, we have been loyal customers. The biggest issue that we encountered was that their distribution of salsa became more and more scarce as time went by. It got to the point where the cashier would be dismissive of inquiries regarding the ratio of salsa per food item by directing us to the cooks preparing the food as if he didn't have anything to do do with it. Now, we understand that the business needs to manage the cost of what they make and still set a profitable price point, but nothing leaves a sour flavor in a customer's mouth more than receiving only 4 salsas for an order of 14 tacos, and 2 burritos. Our tolerance has been withered away over time as the service we receive has been less than friendly, our orders have been done wrong-only to have us drive back to have them corrected, the sides (rabanos and salsa) have been more and more scarce, the truck not adhering to the advertised business hours, and the phone number for phone orders being a hit and miss as it often went straight to voice mail. The final straw was that the last time we went our phone order was not honord-we were quoted 20 minutes for delivery but when we arrived 25 minutes later we're still had to wait an additional 15 minutes as they continue to bring out walk on orders. Not sure that at this point it would have mattered, but when we finally received our order, we didn't even receive any acknowledgment or apology for our long wait. It's a shame that we have had to venture elsewhere to get out fix for Mexican tacos. It was a shock to find a small operation like El Taco Taco act like a large chain like King Taco without the reputation and great food taste to back it up. Don't get me wrong, I do root for the little guy and that's why we continue to go for a long time to El Taco Taco. If I could leave them with a bit of advice it is to never forget the importance customer service. A business needs to not only supply the product it sells, but needs to also conduct itself in a professional and customer friendly manner. After all, it's not like their aren't many other taco trucks out there! read more

Super cool taco truck with really good food. I was impressed with the quality of the carne asada meat. The whole pinto beans inside the burrito were really good too. The rice inside the burrito was nicely cooked as well. Decent prices for the items and jaritos or mexican bottle sodas are offered of course. read more

Ok i decided to go back again to see if any improvements on lack of customer service, well let me tell you i decided to try to engaged in a conversation with the man that takes orders and it was like talking to myself well that didn't work, next after they called my number and receiving 2 small salsas on my order i decided to ask for 2 additional salsas big deal right, the young guy that works there was about to get them but the old man mumbled something and the young guy told me he could only give me 1 more lol, my goodness gracious are you serious come on this is ridiculous, the damm salsa they give is barely enough for 1 taco, anyways i found a new taco truck on Myrtle between Las Tunas and Duarte great customer service and the girl that works there actually talks and smiles and the food is fantastic not like this Robots!!!!! This place has decent food. It's ok for the area since there isn't much to choose from. Their service is terrible the old man and the young lady that take your order have a poor sad and disgusting attitude. It almost seems like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to buy food from them. Once you get your order you damn near have to beg for salsa lemon and radishes. This place would be so much better if they cleaned up their attitude. I don't know what they do during the day but hopefully it brings them more joy than serving tacos at night. They really think that their shit doesn't stink but they really need to humble themselves and realize that they aren't anything but servants to the community. If they don't like it they should pack up and get on. Oh and their new truck isn't anything to phone home about. I've been to a lot more humble places with amazing service. Their tacos are alright and overpriced, they were better before. Their service is not that great anymore. One time when I called to place an order the older man did mess up my order and when I went back to tell them he blamed me for giving him the "wrong" order. The girl is rude and never smiles she gives attitude to the customers. I went this past Saturday night because I did not feel like driving all the way to San Gabriel and I was not even greeted by the older man who takes the order. He was rude and gave me attitude as well. Like what's up with giving your customers attitude. Good luck with having your customers come back after that. Saturday was my last day there. Worst place I've been to. Full of grease old guy who takes order messed up my order and tried to charge me more when I got back for their mess up?? Like this is crazy. I usually don't complain but they tried to charge me more. They grabbed the order they messed up and slammed it in the trash and then shoved my food at me. I know they spat in it with that kind of attitude. I'll make sure everyone I know doesn't waste their time and money here. I'd rather pay more money else where for at least decent customer service. It is not often that I actually have to have Mexican food, but when it comes to this place we have to have it at least once a week, the tacos are amazing, nachos are the bomb, but their salsas are what give them that extra kick that puts them at the top of the taco places! We have had these tacos now for the kast 2 years and at least once a week, they are always consistently delicious the service is super friendly and you can call in your order and come by and pick it up when it's ready , so convenient! Best taco spot in the San Gabriel Valley that I had and I have had several taco spots. People here are nice and the tacos are very good. Sometimes they can be a bit to greasy but its rare, but they are juicy tacos with not a lot of fat in them the meat is finely chopped. Went here last time to get some tacos & a burrito for my brother and I and it was somewhat a hidden gem only because it was on the other side of the street. Parking is open season, pretty much can park where ever you want, just have to be quite reasonable. Prices are decent, same as most places but tacos here are not a dollar unfortunately so that's something to reconsider if you're use to the dollar tacos. Overall though, the tacos were pretty good, you could tell its fresh rather than frozen, my brother had the carne asada burrito and said it was pretty solid. Also, they have tables & chairs outside for people who feel like eating there so that's a bonus, but it's limited. Overall I would say it's a 4.2 / 5 but rounding down to 4. read more
