Azteca D'Oro is one of my favorite places to eat Mexican food. I checked out this location after spending a long day at the theme parks. It was on the way back to my house so we stopped there. This is a big location, it even has outdoor seating. We were greeted and seated in 5 minutes. We sat in the main dining area since the bar area was a little loud. We ordered our food and it came out fairly quickly. I usually order the fajita quesadillas but this time I wanted to order something different, so I decided on the carnitas. Michoacanas. They were so good! It came with black beans, sweet plantains, pickled onions and guacamole. Other people in my party ordered fajitas and a burrito. Overall, we had a good experience and service was great. The only downsize is that they have Pepsi products. I don't order soda often but I was craving a cold bubbly Coke Zero. We don't make it out this way too often and were looking for a good spot for dinner after spending the day at Gatorland. Mexican never lets us down and there are a variety of Mexican restaurants on this side of town. We decided on Azteca and are glad we did. Service was excellent, the hostess, server, and food runners were so friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is really beautiful inside, well maintained and clean. It was happy hour so I was able to score two margaritas for the price of one ($10). I chose the D'oro Rita, which is a mix of Pueblo Viejo Reposado, Mango, Passion Fruit, Strawberry, and lime - Very refreshing and delicious! The chips and salsa were great; fresh warm chips and medium heat salsa hit the spot. We also ordered the Guacamole ($15.95), which is prepared at the table in front of you; this was above and beyond what we are used to. I usually only see this at very $$$$ restaurants, I would love to see other restaurants follow suit and offer a table-side service like this for select items to boost customer experience, great job! Our food was ready about 10-minutes after our table-side service. Nancy and I shared the Chicken Fajitas ($24.95) which was plenty after eating both the salsa and guacamole. The Fajitas came out sizzling hot and had a great flavor. I wish they would have had some more veggies mixed in with the platter but it was still delicious nonetheless. Nancy's sister ordered the fish tacos ($21.95), which looked amazing, she said they were excellent. We never felt rushed, if anything they wanted us to stay longer to have more drinks. If we didn't have to get back home to our dog we would have obliged that offer. All-in-all, we had an exceptional experience, I highly recommend them and we will be back! read more

Excellent food. My sister got fish tacos and we shared the fajitas. We also got a avocado appetizer which was delicious. Margaritas for two for one today the cost for one was $10. However we did not know this. My husband ordered two margaritas and then noticed on the bill it was two for one so make sure you ask your server because she never told us of the special. Tonight we were craving Mexican food and a solid happy hour, and Azteca Mexican Restaurant on OBT delivered as always. This location never disappoints, and somehow it just keeps getting better every time we visit. We started with the street corn -- and WOW. It came out fast, hot, and perfectly dressed in their signature sauce with all the right toppings. Every bite was creamy, flavorful, and addictive. Honestly, it set the tone for the entire meal. For our main course, we ordered the chicken fajitas, and they were absolutely phenomenal. The chicken was tender and juicy, grilled to perfection alongside fresh vegetables. Everything arrived sizzling and loaded with guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and mild salsa fresh, vibrant, and incredibly satisfying. You can taste the quality. The service? Impeccable. We were greeted the moment we found our table, and the hospitality continued throughout the night. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and we were welcomed with two generous baskets of warm chips and fresh salsa right away, always a great sign. And let's talk about the real MVP of the night: the 2-for-1 margaritas. We both went with raspberry, one on the rocks and one frozen and they were perfectly balanced, refreshing, and dangerously good. Happy hour done right. This is easily one of our favorite Sunday spots, especially since they always have the big games on. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere it's the full package. Also, the renovations over the years have transformed this location into something truly beautiful. The space feels modern, clean, and inviting while still keeping that warm Mexican restaurant charm. We arrived, seated promptly, discovered happy hour is actually 4-6pm :(. We arrived at 6:30 thinking it was 4-7 as other helpers stayed. Anyhow, the chips and salsa were served promptly, hot and just made with delicious salsa! The ambiance was also nice - good music, lighting, decor, and friendly service. So my mom, sister and I were looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat and this place looked like an amazing option and I was right. The service was a little shaky at first because it took a while for us to be seated even though the restaurant was nowhere near capacity. Once seated we ordered and the server helped guide my mom and sister through a few options to ensure they got something they would enjoy. I was fully locked in on getting the lamb shank. The food was amazing. My lamb was flavorful and tender. My mom tried some and wanted more. I also tried some of her food and it was delicious. I have never eaten at Azteca before and I am very surprised and very happy that I did. The other night my friend Chris and I ate here for dinner. I got the steak with the side of rice and for a drink I got one of their drinks on their featured cocktail menu. Our food came rather quickly possibly around her after 15 minutes of ordering; my friend Chris got a Horchata and an ice water; and I got a cocktail and an ice water with lemon. The gentleman serving our food was very very kind and very helpful. The inside of this one in particular reminds me of a mom and Pop style eatery with lavish Decour and beautiful paintings. The total bill was $73 that includes two entrées a Horchata and two and waters; Plus a $14 cocktail. I tipped him approximately $10 for service so our total bill for the evening was $83. Met some friends for dinner and drinks on a Friday evening and had a great time. I originally ordered the Cadillac margarita and did not like it at all. It tasted like dish water. I asked my server if I could switch and got the sangria instead. Is that was good! One of my friends got the macho burrito, dear lord was it good. I had the combo meal with a tamale and chimichanga, goodness even better. We were taken care of by Paola Theresa, she was wonderful and kept a good eye on the drinks and chips/salsa. Very pleasantly surprised at the interior size. There is really two halves with a large bar area with a lighted wall of bottles and a seated dining half that is also quite large. The walls are filled with very colorful paintings and the music is at conversation level. This time I placed a ToGo order but will come back with family and sit down and eat. The food did take a moment to come out but to me that means it wasn't pre-prepared. I do suggest eating there because the ride home made the food only barely warm BUT it was delicious. I always check for saltiness and neither the nacho azteca nor the tacos birria were salty. They were both well seasoned and the ToGo portions were a decent size. Now, I'm not a taco fan, but these were excellent. The accompanying rice and beans were delicious and the rice well done ( no hard kernels). My only negative this time is that they are very pricey and I was taken aback at the price for 3 taco meals. Would the price prohibit me from returning? Probably not. The young lady at the welcome podium was very nice and even brought my food out to my car so I could wait in comfort. She was also very patient as I perused the extensive menu and could not make up my mind. Yes I recommend to others. Yes, I would return to try another dish. read more

Food was decent, nothing crazy. The $30 carne asada should have been a larger cut of meat for the price. My issue was: my elderly grandparents took myself and my family out for dinner. At the end of the meal they left a cash tip like anyone would only to realize the next day our server "Jose" had already added 20% gratuity. Although im sure it happens all the time I think its wrong to add a service charge without saying anything. Especially 20%. Usually the gratuity for a larger group is 18%. read more

I've been going to this Mexican place for about a year or so now and had some issues but it was usually a okay experience over a year but I recently went here with my family and friends and I had ordered a burrito blanco and had the longest most disgusting hair in my food I've ever seen and honestly consider it a hate crime because of how noticeable it was in a WHITE RICE burrito. Black hair in a white rice burrito which was blatantly noticeable as it was about 8 inches long and wrapped around the inside of the burrito and was honestly disturbing how blatantly obvious it was I just had taken the top off the burrito to start cutting and I saw this keep in mind I didn't get a video but the manager came over and not only saw the hair and proceeded to look up at everyone at the table to check if we had black colored hair and we did NOT, she then proceeded to use a fork and pull it out and it was like a magic trick from how long it was it just kept being pulled out and it was disgusting and huge I ended up losing my appetite and we will never be coming back for the way they handled it, a hair that size is intentional and they only gave a 25% discount on the meal and argued with me acting like I was ungrateful for the compensation when I spend about 10,000 a year eating there 2 times a week with my family with the bill being 200$ each time. I've lived in Orlando for years and I have never gone to this restaurant. I always used to see it packed and all parking spaces taken around the restaurant, but today was the day I needed to try it! For starters, parking is easy since they have multiple spots surrounding the franchise. Very simple and decent crowd for a Wednesday. Service was great from the beginning and the whole design from inside is beautiful and very appealing. Waitresses were very friendly and very attentive to all of our wants and needs. Tonight I ordered the Carne Asada which came with Mexican rice , beans, and guac for about $28. Great size, taste, and very flavorful. It was sooo good and I really enjoyed it since it came out nice and hot and straight out the kitchen. I can definitely see why they have the crowd because this skirt steak was delicious ! As for dessert , my family ordered the Cheesecake and ice cream. Both of these combined had a nice sweet pairing and never really expected it to go so well together. It's always a delicious pleasure to eat here. It's probably one of the closest places to real Mexican in the area. I love their happy hour that runs all of Sunday and 3-6 on other days. It's bogo on a few drinks that are huge. The food is always fresh and tasty. Service is always great. It's a staple restaurant for us for past decade and continues to be. i've ordered many times and although the good and I enjoy I ordered to go when the order came missing one of the girl who answered the put the blame on us for not checking the order before we left. Then she claimed that they all of the calls and that she repeated the order twice and tried to take her position. She hung up on us when I returned the call. They ignored it so I called from a different phone number and the was picked up. I asked for the assistant manager or the manager on duty and spoke to who admitted to me that they do not record the messages so I said basically she lied. Still instead of correcting their error they put to put the blame on the saying why didn't you check the order before you left I send somebody to pick up food it's not my responsibility to check their job and make sure they're doing it correctly. which I was I can come by tomorrow morning and speak to the general manager so not only do they not want to fix their errors or admit their mistakes but then I have to go my way just to make it right. read more

Since they did a remodel the bar and restaurant looks great. Our server was awesome she recommended all of her favorites. We shared a platter with chicken, steak, and shrimp. We also had some chorizo, chicken, and shrimp tacos. I had an Agua Fresca made with flowers that was awesome. Can't wait to come back and try more food and drinks. Went here on a last minute whim and they immediately sat us down, no reservation on a Saturday night. Off to a great start right off the bat. The hostess was very polite with her greeting and even asked us if we preferred a booth or high chair (recommended for faster service). We got seated and immediately were greeted by our server (Carol) who was also a very kind young lady with AMAZING service. We had not been here in so long, it was nice to see a menu and Carol was very patient with us and really knowledgeable with giving us recommendations. Food was a good bang for your buck in value. I had the D'Oro Burger (bring your appetite) and my friend had the Carne Asada. Both very delicious high quality dishes, very filling, and we needed to-go boxes otherwise we would be sleeping there from eating so good. Our server Carol was constantly attentive to check on us from time to time making sure we were good. Very much appreciated. The atmosphere made it all even better. Great selection of shows on the tv's (Miss Universe was on and so was boxing). There were nice paintings and the ambiance was great. Such a nice restaurant with beautiful lights. Not to mention an entire Mariachi Band that sang/played so beautifully! Highly recommend coming here for some good Mexican dishes and a feel of being treated at an authentic Mexican restaurant!
