For the most part you are seated 6 feet apart but if you reallly don't like to be next to anyone I would sit in a booth. Our server was a little slow and didn't seem to know much about the menu or alcohol beverages. We had the mixed protein fajitas, veggie fajitas and a tapatio chicken plate and it was DELICIOUS! We also ordered traditional Mexican waters ... Jamaica (hibiscus) and tamarindo. I finished my huge cup they were well made. I ordered a margarita and she came back saying "we are out of mix". I moved back to this side of town recently and wanted to try out some of the Mexican restaurants in the area. Overall, it's pretty meh. The decor inside is nice and I liked the ambiance of the live music. Our waitress was nice and attentive but not too pushy. What I was mostly disappointed in was the food, which was our main reason for coming here. In my opinion, the salsa was too watery. The chips they brought to the table were fine. We ordered an appetizer to start "Tapatio Sampler". My husband and I found the chicken taquitos to be bland. We also tried the guacamole it came with, which also was not the best. It was very bland as well. It wasn't on the table that long and it browned quickly. I ordered chicken fajitas and my husband ordered the chimichanga. Both were quite lackluster. The rice lacked flavor. The chicken that came with the fajitas were probably the best thing I had during that meal. Overall, not the worst. But not good enough to make me want to return. Do not go with a service dog. The people who work there have never heard of ADA! They do not understand it is a federal law. They demand to see my service fogsID. Then went on to state we need ID in case he is aggressive! Are you kidding me ... Its a service dog! Again asked what ID needed the "manager" kept saying dog ID. This restaurant has no clue they broke every federal ADA law. As a person with a disability And should not get harassed at a restaurant! The employees should know THE LAW!!! This place is still new and learning, other than some minor disappointments the food is affordable and delicious just like the original restaurant location in Kissimmee. The last 2 times the service has been very poor. Yesterday, our server brought us drinks and she didn't come back at all after that, not even to bring the check. The runner brought our fajitas (no plates or tortillas). Our food sat there for a while before we asked a random server that was walking by for tortillas and plates. Then we had to ask a runner for more tortillas as they were passing by. And we had to ask the hostess for drink refills as she was walking back to the front. At the end, we had to ask a server (again, not our server) for the check. The entire time we kept apologizing to the other people (I'm sorry, I know you're not our server but....). We moved here from California and have been looking for good Mexican food. We visited the location is near Target and Cracker Barrell. The night we were there was very busy. They had a Mariachi band and they were very loud. The service was not very good as the young waitress did not speak good English and could not explain the menu to us. My new favorite American Mexican. It's off the 417 not far from lake Nona VA medical center. I have not had Mexican rice this good in years. Flavorful hot and moist. I got the bean dip and lunch chimichanga $10.99 I got ground beef as I always start with the basics when checking bout a New Mexican joint. Was up for a couple days with the family. Just happened upon El Tapatio, VERY,VERY authentic Mexican food. As a greengo I ate the tacos mexicano,with rice and refried beans. This is serious Mexican food you won't forget. And the price WOW, CHEAP! I also suggest their home made drinks, I had the pineapple which was super fresh, not too sweet. I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, but this place was pretty good! I had the costillas de res (beef ribs), which was two fairly thin slices through four neighboring ribs (rather than the whole ribs which I had been expecting), nicely seasoned and cooked, served on a bed of sauteed onions and peppers in a sizzling hot iron skillet, with rice, refried beans, sour cream, guac and salsa on the side. One of ny favorite mexican foods in the Orlando Area. The flavors are the closest to authentic mexican food and you get great food at a good price. Now I've heard this is the newer location for the restaurant as they have another restaurant location in Kissimmee. When I first walked in I must say I was very drawn in by the colorful and tasteful interior design of the restaurant. I loved all of the art and decor displayed on the walls and furniture. We were greeted almost immediately and our server was FANTASTIC. He was so attentive and was very knowledgeable of the menu items which I truly appreciated. For drinks we had decided to go with the house margarita. Now I must say even though it was a bargain for the amount of margarita they give you in their huge cups, I wish that the margarita was a bit stronger as I mostly tasted the margarita mix. They provided us with chips and salsa as a starter and I must say that it was very tasty as we finished the whole basket before our entrees even came out. For our meals we got the caldo de res soup and the tapatio salad with steak. The caldo de res soup was nice and comforting as always as I order that soup every time I go to a Mexican restaurant. I thought the soup was flavored good, and enjoyed the fact that it came with a side of rice. The tapatio salad was just alright, just a normal salad nothing extravagant. The steak on top was a thinner cut and was a bit tough. We probably won't be ordering the salad again the next time we come back. In town for business and went out for a late lunch/early dinner with friends who are local. We had about a 30 minute wait for a table, which wasn't bad and probably was closer to 20 minutes. They do have a sign on the door that asks for patience as they are understaffed right now - which most restaurants in the area are. Our server was great and kept our drinks refilled without us having to wait or even ask. We ordered their queso, guacamole and a queso fundito. The queso was just ok - not the best I've had - but the guacamole and fundito was delicious. The chorizo in the fundito was drained well (not greasy!!) and was delicious. The guacamole was absolutely outstanding! My friends had strawberry margaritas and they were excellent. For meals, we ordered the molcajete, steak & shrimp and a Pollo Tapatio. The steak on the steak & shrimp meal was more well done than the medium rare that was ordered, but it was seasoned well and tasted good. The single order of molcajete could have fed all of us - it's huge and packed with different proteins. The pollo was flavorful & the veggies were in a light buttery & cheesy sauce. No one got rice - we all opted for double refried beans - and they are delicious. Everything we had was great and I would definitely Recommend this place. Told by our server they didn't have any but the table behind us got juice. Wanted to order chicken fajitas for two. Server told us we had to do the combo of beef, chicken and shrimp to do that. Got charged for lettuce when I shared with waiter I couldn't eat the lettuce because the sour cream was on it. Our waiter, Carlos S., was missing for long periods of time and didn't refill our drinks. He struggled with English. At the end, he awkwardly asked us how we would rate his service 1-10. Super friendly service and a clean, pretty interior with lots of seating make it a welcome place for families and small groups. The menu is HUGE, almost too big, which is a culinary pet peeve of mine. I was impressed that they have freshly made aquas frescas - perhaps 6 or 7 varieties - including a delicious horchata which I loved. Had lunch at El Tapatio. The restaurant has great decor. The food was pretty good (Beef Tacos & Chicken Fajitas). The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived. We were shown to a table in the back of the restaurant seated next to a table of employees. The employees began talking and laughing loudly during our meal.
