It was me and my friend's first time ever walking into the restaurant and it gave me the authentic Mexican restaurant vibe. The service was absolutely amazing, chilled, and the waiter that served me and my friend was very attentive and willing to help us whatever our taste buds needed at the moment. The food was absolutely delicious, especially my own meal, as it was my first time having shrimps within tacos or seafood in a taco and I must admit that it was rather delicious (something that a seafood or a burrito enthusiast would love to put their taste buds to). The yellow rice was tasteful and a rice enthusiast would fall in love with it. We have been going to El Tejado for about 20yrs or more. We moved from Macon in 1996 and they were here then. Their food has always been great! We didn't eat out a lot in the early years but we ate there when we did go out. Their food has always been consistent with good service and knowledge about the food and drinks. Driving through Forsythe, hungry. Looked at a few restaurant reviews but most offerings were fast food. Drive by this parking lot and it was full - that is a good sign. Seated right away. I ordered the steak chimichanga dinner that comes with rice, beans and a guacamole salad. It was nice and crispy and the steak was nice and tender. Good flavor! The chips and salsa weren't so good but it was 9pm so they probably been there for a while. We've eaten here several times but never in this section of the dining room. I was surprised to see a family restroom tucked in the corner of this dining room. Very strange place for a restroom. Also there was a TV directly behind my head with the sound on at first playing baby TV and then they switched it to Cartoon Network. That was annoying! Holy Nachos. After ordering bean and cheese nachos for $11.99 I was beyond surprised when my plate came with 10, yes 10, chips and a spoonful of beans on top. Baskets of free chips are flowing in the place but when you order you get 10? Good thing Forsyth is the law enforcement capitol of the state, it should be easy to get a robbery warrant for the rip-off that just occurred. Buyer beware. read more

I was in town for a few days and tried this place out. This is one of the few sit down restaurants in Forsyth where it opens past 9pm. I believe their hours are M-Thur until 10pm and Weekends until 11pm. I got some grilled steak with bacon and cheese on it. It came with fajita wraps and refried beans and rice. Guacamole and sour cream. It was really tasty. Service was good as well. I definitely will come back and recommend this place to anybody in town. read more

Great stop on a road trip. Fresh ingredients to include beens, guacamole and marinated meets. Rice was good but nothing special. Table salsa had just enough kick. Friend had the carne Asada with corn tortillas. Myself, the chicken chimichanga. We both cleared our plates. We were in the area for Thanksgiving and needed a good meal on Black Friday. We did not have to go far to find this yummy food. As you can see by my pictures, we were given lots of food. The chips were fresh and crisp. I think we had the cheese dip on everything. The grilled chicken was cooked perfect and no fat. My husband had a dish with beef and green peppets, onions and cheese and he rolled it up in soft shells. Our service was great and everyone was friendly. They do have big TV'S to watch football. I came to Georgia for a week vacation with my family. We wanted to eat Mexican food. The Mexican Restaurant that was next to our hotel was closed. So, we went to one that was 5 minutes away. We thought it wouldn't be the best but boy were we wrong. Our Venezuelan server and her service was the best I've experienced. My family and I ordered 2 Chicken Quesadillas, Carne Asada Tacos and Chicken Fajitas. The food was delicious! We got a box of food to-go and it was perfectly packaged. They were so good. I had the enchiladas and they were some of the best I've ever had anywhere. I had 2 chicken and 2 cheese enchiladas and if I wasn't full I would have ordered another meal. Food portion were plentiful and I had more than enough to eat. My server could have been more attentive but he was polite and personable when he was bringing something to the table or checking on me.
