Picadillo taco, black beans, and esquites
Robin R.

We were greeted as soon as we arrived even with the late lunch hour (3pm). Other than a group at the bar, we were the only ones there (but at 3pm, that is not surprising). Our server was cheerful and quick with getting our drinks and food. The guacamole and picadillo taco were the highlights of our meal. The meat on the taco was very well seasoned - yummy! Our sides (refried beans, Mexican rice, black beans, and esquites) were all just barely room temperature which seemed really strange because the entrees came out "hot." All in all, we enjoyed our late afternoon lunch as we passed through Forsyth.

Homemade tamales? Yes, please! What a fun, festively decorated Mexican restaurant on the town square of Forsyth, Ga. I was seated immediately, and Cassidy was super quick and efficient! Complimentary chips and salsa arrived immediaas did my water and iced tea. The Burria taco was beautifully presented and very good with braised tender beef, fresh cilantro and cheese with garnishes of lime and radish slices. The two pork tamale plate was a winner! I opted for the black beans side rather than refried beans and skipped out on the rice side. Their tamales are made in house and your choice of chicken or pork. So glad I happened upon this spot!

My husband and I have dubbed Sol's as "OUR SPOT" after finding it a few years ago. We intentionally leave Atlanta early to make sure it's open and we have time to sit inside. The staff Id polite and professional. The food! OMG: Deliciousness In Every Bite. Sidebar: I'm always busy stuffing my face that I didn't pay attention to the decor: the pictures are historic Forsyth. Here's my Facebook post: If you're passing through Forsyth, do yourself a favor and stop by Sol Tacos & Tequila Favorite menus item(s): Everything, but especially the elote corn and and shrimp tacos You're welcome

Traveling home from Perry Ga to Canton Ga, we stopped off in Forsyth Ga for a bite to eat. Sol Tacos and Tequila hit the spot. A very adorable spot right on the town square. The decor is very cool. It used to be and old mercantile building called BlueTick that was refurbished but left a lot of the old charm. The guacamole was made fresh and chunky, just the way I like it and the chips were fresh and warm. The food came out quickly which was nice because I was traveling and wanted to get home. Lol All the dishes were tasty and portions were filling. The best dish was the Burrito De carne Asada. Huge and chalked full of delicious beef and lots of other goodness! And the roasted corn with sour cream and salsa was amazing. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. I would definitely stop here again if I'm ever traveling through Forsyth Ga.

We have visited Sol Tacos about 5 times since moving to the area in July 2021. The food has always been prepared in an excellent manner and perfectly cooked. The flavors are on the mild side, vs a robust flavor. The staff have been helpful and knowledgeable on most visits. There was a visit about a month ago, where a younger female waitress just didn't seem interested at all in working that day, nor in returning to the table for follow-up after the meal was brought out for our party. I do wish they would include more 9nions on the fajita platter. I ordered extra onions on 2 occasions and on both occasions there couldn't have been more than 5 tablespoons of finely shaved onion. On one visit I even requested a whole onion be grilled and brought out with the fajita, but it never made it out to the table. We will continue to return here because the food is very good. But until the requested meal items are brought as requested, I can't bump my review up past a 3 since it has happened on 3 ocassions of 5 visits.

This is a fantastic spot for good food. It was a good-sized restaurant with plenty of seating. We were sat quickly, and our server came right over. We started with the guacamole, and it was amazing. It was very fresh with large chunks of avocado. We got the large and the portion size was big enough for four people to eat on it generously. We went on taco Tuesday, which was reduced price for the tacos. I had the street style tacos, one pollo, one carne asada, and one al pastor. These tacos were on par with some of the best whole in the wall taco places that I have had for great street tacos. I had to order a side of salsa verde with my tacos as it did not come with salsa. The salsa was also fantastic. Our server was on point the whole time and were able to have a fantastic meal! I highly recommend trying this place if you are in the area.

Had a great experience! Stopped in after my husband and I landed and just took a random chance off road and saw pictures of the food which drew us to make a late dinner stop. We sat at the bar and the bartender was really nice and attentive. But let's talk about the food. Great sizes for their premium tacos. The flavor was great. Not super greasy. The al pastor, carne asada, and their special chicken swarma. Would reorder the Al pastor and carne asada again. Oh but the star were the sauces. There was a pineapple habanero, a morado pepper olive oil garlic dip (lovely smoky flavor), and their range of mild to spicy salsa was fabulous. It was great that the manager/owner was so friendly and spent time chatting and introducing his food. The ambiance is loud so it's hard to have an intimate chat but if you're looking for a fun place with good food, this definitely hits the spot! If we lived close by, would probably be regular customers!

Great prices, great location, great service....great everything. I'm shocked this rated higher. Parking is on the street but there's plenty. It's not your average refried, cheese smothered mess. I promise. I walked in and was treated happily by hostesses that were actively cleaning/sanitizing menus. They treated me like I'd been there a million times. So sweet. I was seated immediately and my order was taken promptly. My waiter was really attentive and overall a very hard worker. The salsa, this is 5 stars by itself. I've eaten a lot of salsas in many places but this was the best I've ever had. And yes, like one other review said, it has horseradish. That's the beauty of it. It's like nothing I've ever had before. I ordered the pollo findido and wow. It was a huge plate with tons of freshly cooked veggies, actual cheese on top of queso. The chicken under all of it took up half the plate! I worked for a while but still couldn't get to the last few bites. Now the extra cherry on top....my bill was a little over $15! All that food and great service in the best decorated place in town. Love love love. I'll be back very soon!

Great selection of Jarritos -- corn salad, I think canned corn, but still a nice side.

Large, clean and spacious. Good vibes about staff. TV at the bar which is a nice spot. Food was fresh and plentiful. House salsa tastes like it has horseradish in it, kind of odd, but we liked the spicier selections. It's fresh Mexican, clean, nonfussy environment, paying homage to Georgia with wall decor. Hard to find Mexican sodas, barría and ceviche. Well done.

My wife got the steak burrito bowl and I got the fried pork burrito. For drinks we tried the horchata and picked up a slice of their Tres Leche cake. We also tried all of their sauces, queso, and salsa. The sauces weren't that great in my opinion and the salsa didn't have good flavor and was a little watered down. The queso was pretty good though and i recommend that to go with their chips. The steak in the bowl tasted decent and the whole bowl together was really good. It was presented in the to go container really well. We recommend trying this. The fried pork tasted really good in the burrito. It was a little sweet but also a little crunchy and I was addicted to it. The whole burrito was delicious, only downside was it got really greasy by the time we got home to eat. I still highly recommend this but have plenty of napkins lol. The horchata was top tier. You could taste the rice a bit and it was a little sweet, really well balanced flavors. The tres leches cake tasted a little generic. The cake itself was a little moist but not fully like it should be. Overall, we definitely want to go back and try other things they had on their menu and other proteins. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in town.

In all fairness my review is based on Valentine's Day...which fell on a Monday...and basically half…read morethe town is closed on Mondays and these poor people were NOT prepared for the on slot. Staff was polite and did their best, but the place was packed and there were two of them and one additional lady that didn't speak much English...everyone was in the weeds. A couple of additional employees did eventually show up, that were clearly not supposed to be there and were probably bribed in order to do so. We went long stretches without seeing our server and had to ask for most of what we wanted/needed twice. Salsa is blended super smooth and on the runny side. It has decent flavor and a slight kick to it...chips were standard but not stale-like some places close by. Margarita mix is standard and nothing to write home about, little on the flat side and light on the tequila...but far from the worst I've ever had...so I'll give it a fair rating. Our food was hot, but some parts were a little over cooked and some parts were a little under seasoned. The brown sauce on California burrito was the highlight of it all. I'm guessing it's a pre-made attempt at a mole ::shrugs:: but it was really tasty, whatever it was trying to be. Positives: They tried and we would give them another chance They are not stingy with the sour cream Every employee was nice
