I went here with a friend. Staff is friendly and the food came relatively quickly. I ordered an elote as an appetizer which was delicious (I was surprised they provide a whole corn as I've ordered this from another Mexican restaurant and they only give you half). For my main dish I got a chicken quesadilla which were larger than average and very tasty. Would come back again.

Went here for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. We had the greatest time. The food was so good and the hospitality was amazing. Everyone was on point. I really enjoyed my time here and I will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

This place makes the best guacamole I've ever had! Tastes better than when I was in Mexico! And you know they were making it fresh because my boyfriend are the only ones in here and it took some time. While the carne asada tacos could use more seasoning the quesadilla was delicious. Beware though, this restaurant is pretty cold. The hot sauce on my tacos warmed me up but otherwise it doesn't feel like they put on the heat. Nonetheless, we will def come back, I think this place is a hidden gem. Authentic Mexican even with the loud Spanish music playing in the background.

I've ordered from here twice. First time I placed an order for pick up and it was ready in a timely manner. However the second time I chose delivery and it took longer then expected. The al pastor tacos were great!! Perfect amount of meat and chunky pineapple slices. The empanadas were dry. They stuff it with meat - that's it, no sauce, no onions, no veggies. Chicken quesadilla was another good dish, big enough for 2 people. Overall, it's a decent Mexican spot with good prices.

The tacos are the best! I also like the tostadas but with a lot of red salsa. The empanadas are okay. Everything is better with the salsas.

I cannot stress enough how delicious the food is here! Firstly, the chips and salsa is so good, the salsa is a little different that what I've had in the past, it has just a hint of sweetness that makes it really stand out. The chips were also very good, just salty enough and they complimented the delicious guacamole. We tried a variety of things: burritos, shrimp quesadillas, enchiladas and tacos. Everyone at the table was very happy with their food and left feeling pleasantly stuffed. The service was good and the food came out quick and was served hot and fresh. We were a larger party and we ended up hanging out there for sometime and they were not rude or tried to push us out, which was greatly appreciated. I will return the next time I'm in the city - they also do take out as well! Seriously, eat here!

When I walked in they may have just opened. Seems like they were cleaning from the night before. Upon arrival I greeted the waitress and she just sat the menu down. I ordered pancakes with bacon and eggs, tequilazo breakfast, and a passion fruit & strawberry smoothie (not pictured the presentation was bleh, in a quart container) The pancakes and bacon and eggs are not pictured because she never put the order in. (Yikes) The way the joint was running I thought maybe they just were going to run the food one plate at a time. Maybe if she didn't keep asking if our food was to go and focused more on what I was actually saying she wouldn't have missed that because there's no way my daughter would let me forget to order her food. Anyway, the salsa was sweet and my daughter insisted it was ketchup. I kinda liked it though. She is also 5 but I didn't feel like she was wrong. And I hate ketchup haha. The chips were stale! The food clearly died in the window while waiting to be ran. We clearly came at the wrong time!!! Toast had no butter, we weren't able to ask because the waitress did no check back. The potatoes were decent. Eggs were okay. The sausage inedible but I have a love/hate relationship with pork. The best part of the meal was the smoothie. The most she spoke was when she realized she got a tip and at that point I was sincerely over it.

The "literal" embodiment of IYKYK, this classic old school neighborhood institution, the type of…read morewhich are becoming increasingly rare to the point of near extinction, is certainly on my shortlist of the best bars in the city, let alone the borough. The gorgeous, ancient building, Fillmores for close to 50 years now but home to a bar for many years prior to that, is perennially packed with a cross section of local regulars representing many eras of the neighborhoods varied history and populations, from old school working class joes in Union Jackets and hardhats to more recent immigrants from every corner of the world befitting it's location smack in the center of the worlds borough. They're all most definitely having a great time, soaking up the fantastic atmosphere and character and being served by seasoned pros with a level of old school care and camaraderie, and focus on loyalty to the regulars that is also sadly rapidly fading away (how many other places in this town still know the meaning of the words "buy back?") Where the place really sets itself apart from all the other local watering holes however charming they might be on their own right however, is the food. Its lives up to the original designation of a tavern as a place that places a priority on the cuisine, and indeed the offerings rise far far above the bar-food norm. This is the type of spot that not only serves one of the great, deeply satisfying under-the radar burgers, non nonsense but deeply meaty uniquely presented on a long hero-type roll, but also one of the best, and cheapest NY Strips in town and a killer prime rib special. Also has some of the most reliably crispy wings, even if the propriety house sauce is just a tad sweet for my tastes, and a rotating list of delicious house made soups (particularly a marvelous lobster bisque) that can be paired with said wings or most other options as part of the wonderful lunch specials. I've heard many other patrons praise the grilled chicken wrap but have never had the chance to give it a try as of yet. I'll have many more chances because I plan on continuing to visit the place often for years to come, and here's to hoping that this place remains a constant in the ever changing borough as it's miraculously been able to all these many many years.

This is the kind of place that works well as a neighborhood hangout, but I wouldn't consider it a…read moredestination restaurant. I'd seen it on Yelp for quite a while, and the food in the photos looked really promising. Unfortunately, when we pulled up and saw the location, I had a feeling it wasn't going to live up to my expectations. I was hungry enough that I decided to give it a chance anyway. If you're coming strictly for the food, I'd probably skip it. But if you're looking for a casual spot to relax with a beer and grab a bite, it does the job. Although the meal wasn't what I had hoped for, I do think the kitchen made the best of the ingredients they had. My husband ordered the steak sandwich, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tender the meat was, even though it clearly wasn't an expensive cut. I ordered the French onion soup, which lacked depth of flavor, had very few onions, and the bread was really soggy. My Caesar salad, on the other hand, was dressed and tossed perfectly, but the dressing tasted like it came straight from a bottle. If they made their own dressing, or even used a higher-quality one, it could have been an excellent salad. Our server was friendly and attentive, though she didn't seem very familiar with food terminology. I asked whether the onion rings were made fresh or frozen, and she replied, "They always taste fresh when I've had them." That pretty much answered my question, I'm guessing they were frozen. Overall, it wasn't a satisfying meal for me. Then again, I came for the food. If your goal is simply to unwind with a drink and some casual bar food, you'll probably have a much better experience than I did.
