We stopped in while on a trip. It was super cold outside and I just wanted a warm bowl of chicken soup. Their soup was amazing!!! Is was very warm an supper flavorful. It definitely hit the spot. Thought we'd give it a try today haven't been there in a while, ordered a combo plate the cheese enchilada was good the chicken enchilada was dry and the chicken was chewy hardly any taste to it, it came with a Chile Relleno which was watery and runny and I didn't get it until I was done with the enchiladas! My new favorite Mexican restaurant. I had the Chimichanga, which was AMAZING!!! My husband had the Tapatia Dinner and he loved everything on it... Food was subpar, tortilla shells for fajitas were hard and cold. Taco salad shell was mush before even eating it. Waited to cash out at register while three ladies sat and rolled silverware and then finally decided to wait on us. Will not return! read more

It is hard to screw up Mexican food and this place delivered the goods. I asked waiter what he recommends and was delivered an awesome meal. He suggested the grilled chicken meal and it was out of this world good. The meal started with chips and salsa, I asked for hotter salsa and that was awesome also. The place was not very busy as season ends here after labor day, but the staff and kitchen did a very good job and I will be back again. The hotel I stayed at suggested this place too. read more

Ate here yesterday while driving through the area. I got the Tequilia Quesadillas and they were excellent. My boyfriend had the Burrito Supreme and said it was great as well! Only downfall, the cheese dip we ordered was not good at all. It tasted like cheesy, warm sour cream. We did sit down around 2pm and the restaurant was completely empty. Not sure if it was just old or what, but gross! Other than that, service was excellent and our meals were hot! read more

Date: 4/1/15. Not April Fool, the best dinner we've had in the area. Whaler's Catch sadly closed due to death of owner and now for sale (in Paducah) so we came to El Tequila across the street from Fort Massac State Park in Metropolis, IL, across the Ohio River from Paducah. We camp here reasonably regularly. Enjoyed our dinners thoroughly! Excellent staff, excellent food, enjoyable evening. We will be back the next time we camp here. A very pleasant evening at a very reasonable price. We are happy campers. No one is perfect so 4 -/2 stars. No negatives noted. Recommend highly. read more

We ate at this restaurant August 2019. We had to wait for 10 minutes even though they were not busy. The service was just ok. The food was horrible. We ordered tacos with refried beans and rice. The tacos were terrible. They didn't have any taste and the meat tasted really really old. We took 3 bites of the tacos and left the rest on our plates. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and will never eat there again read more

I'm not sure how to review this place being from Chicago, I am use to a different kind of Mexican restaurant. The kind of restaurant that serves Horchata and corn tortillas, the kind of restaurant that let's you order a steak taco and doesn't force you to buy whole meal.
