Brunch! Brunch! Brunch! Sunday brunch was an amazing experience. Highly recommended!! Reservations were quick and easy. Plenty of parking at this location with an upper and lower parking lot and a structure just steps away. The brunch buffet spread had all the traditional favorites and then some. My favorites were the tamales, enchiladas and tender beef birria. You will love the freshly made tortillas at the taco station. The ribs and tri-tip were a delicious surprise. Dessert selection was filled with choices but I liked the flan and churros. The staff were busy but the hostess was friendly and our server (Cameron) was super polite and attentive. The food here is good and the home made tortillas keep me coming back but the service in the bar area is always terrible. It seems like they are ALWAYS short staffed. The waiters appear overwhelmed and unhappy. We have to ask for everything from utensils and napkins to refills. We were there Sunday March17, 2024, to celebrate a special occasion. The wait was a little long . Once we sat down-The waitress came over got our drinks. We live near West Covina and I thought most El Torito have the same service and menu. I wanted a beef enchilada a La cart and she said no beef , steak only, and it has to be a meal. Ok, I ordered the meal, and my wife and daughter ordered the fajita plate , she said you only get one side with the fajita plate. Ok. So far unlike West Covina, ,where you can ordered a La cart beef enchilada and you get two sides with the fajita plate. Ok, not a good start-we got our drinks and ordered the meals. We drank our drinks and the waitress was MIA, we finally saw her and said can we have a refilled, she said no problem. She got our drinks. At least, an hour later, we got finally got our meals. Our meals honestly it did not look appetizing , they put some vomitatious pink sauce on everything, the streaks, on my enchilada, and my rice was green. I tried the pink sauce ,it had a cheesy ,buttery taste. i didn't like it. I scraped it off and my wife refused to taste it, my daughter wind up eating most of it. Once we're done ,the waitress was MIA again and we finally flagged her down. The whole meal took two hours. The check came and it was close to hundred dollars . Asked me if we had a good time celebrating and spending $100?. Hell no, it really sour the celebration occasion and mood. Such a massive disappointment. Last time, I set foot in Brea El Torito. Update: I was surprised the manager replied, thank you manager for that. There is nothing you can do. Btw, My wife is allergic to mayonnaise, in the future if there any sauces added to the entree, you might let your staff know, to comment there is a sauce of whatever the sauce is, is that ok? The restaurant was very busy on the 4th of July and there restaurant was short handed because they where thinking it would not be busy. But violet came to the rescue. She went back to the kitchen and helped make food for my brother that is handicap made him his potato tacos. Everyone got what they needed. I do not usually do reviews. I had to rave about our family dinner experience we had last night at El Torito Grill, Brea. We hit up the El Torito Grill on our way back to LA. The hostess Yvette was so attentive and welcoming. After hearing the wonderful specials Yvette shared I went with my favorite dishes, Carne Asada Y Camarones and and Chicken Tortilla Soup. Not to mention Chris made some excellent drinks. Another awesome memory for the books. We will be back! read more

Shocking disappointment. Ordered the salmon entree, however, the description created an image that failed to match the plate I received. The salmon was cooked at an inconsistent temperature. The description failed to mention how little asparagus would be on the plate. No fingerling potatoes unless you consider a SINGLE cross-section circle to be plural. I expected 3-4 asparagus spears and got maybe one to one-and-a-half asparagus pieces chopped & overcooked with that one slice of fingerling potato and an abundance of other veg. It was all overcooked (nearly burnt) which left all but the red and green pepper it in the unknown category. Essentially what I was served as a good portion of poorly cooked salmon on a bed of overcooked, nearly burnt veg medley. Oh brother. Not eating here again. read more

We had the Grilled chicken Tacos and a chicken fajita burrito and shrimp enchiladas. All of the items were wonderful and tasty! It was a Friday night so it took a bit of time to get served but the chips and salsa and the tortillas took care of us while we waited.
