9-6-2026 I had no idea it was going to be this crowded on a Sunday brun, but it was one of the few deals on UE for burritos. I decided to pick it up myself since it is closeby. Thankfully, one of the two parking spots for 15 minutes loading was free. While it was crowded, I was offered a drink by the entrance! Thank you to the employee who told me I could help myself, since it made my day. I will probably be back for dine-in one day. They even had a band performing today. It's rainy today, but packed inside. Anyway, I gladly tried the Jamaica and liked it. Then, I customized a breakfast burrito. It was hot and made to order, and it came with a salsa. It didn't feel that meaty, since there was so much tortilla, but it was filled. It was one of the better ones I've had.

7/28/26 El Torito Grill Brea CA...Came here to do a Taco Tuesday night dinner and watch the Dodger game! They have Happy Hour appetizers starting at $6. I had the two at that price, the chicken taquitos and fried zucchini. So good! They have 4 kinds of tacos for $3 each. I had Al pastor, carnitas, and pollo. They make their own fresh tortillas in house! Excellent tacos! Love the taco toppings area! Got a refreshing refillable Mr Pibb! This restaurant is hidden and simple, but very clean inside and outside. Service here was good. Love the house made tortillas with the cinnamon butter! Great visit!

This was by far best restaurant I went to so far. They are a local business so go support them! Their staff have been so kind and accommodating. I should have asked for my waitress name but she was very sweet. I ordered the chicken fajita salad and I thought it was just like a regular salad but ordering it was a whole experience, they added the chicken in front of me in this metal bowl it was so cool. I saw someone ordered the fajita plate and I will probably get that next time. My family ordered the churros and when I tell you these are the authentic ones they are they tasted so fresh and the chocolate and caramel dips made it more AMAZING! This place is family friendly and also such a good place for a date. Definitely will come again :)

Our server, Rosa, was absolute perfection--so attentive and warm. She even invited my visiting family from out of the country to help make our tableside guacamole! Talk about an unforgettable core memory for them to take back home. The entire feast was unbelievable. We devoured the ribeye fajitas, combo fajitas, fish tacos, and filet tacos, and every single dish hit the mark. My personal favorite had to be those warm tortillas, butter, and salsa they bring out to start--and we topped the night off with a flan that was absolute heaven. Everyone was already planning our next visit before we even left the table. We'll definitely be back!

Went to the brunch for Sunday and of course the food was amazing and the bottomless mimosas were out of this world!!! Rosa was our waitress and she was perfect!!! She was extremely nice and every time our drinks were low she filled them immediately. Service like that is really hard to come by in today's world. Around 2 which was the closing for the brunch Rosa saved us a little champaign that was awesome. She is the best! Food and drinks were the best.

I had never even heard of an El Torito Grill before, and apparently this is the last one, and wow, it is amazing. The fresh flour tortillas alone are worth the visit. They're so good you could practically make a whole meal out of them. Three of us shared the sampler platter and it was more than enough food. We actually had leftovers, partly because we couldn't stop eating those tortillas and were completely stuffed. Our son ordered the pizza (which he mostly ignored in favor of the fries), but overall it was such a great experience. The ambiance was so fun. They have a sit-down dining area as well as a club-style bar area, which gives it such a lively vibe. And the service was awesome friendly, attentive, and just made the whole experience even better. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. Honestly, every time we go to Knott's Berry Farm, I think this is going to be our new go-to spot. So good. Five stars.

Build your own..grilled fish taco W chicken enchilada w veggies and black beans
    Sunday B.

Our server, Adrian was the best!!! Super friendly and went over and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted. I got the build your own combo - grilled fish taco w a chicken enchilada- veggies and black beans. The fish taco was the standout-soo flavorful...I really enjoyed it. Do yourself a favor and get the handmade flour tortillas!! I had a few w the salsa and after my lunch...I had one with the sweet butter for dessert-sooooooo gooood!!

I've been coming to El torito for decades!! To this particular location only a few times. But we will not be coming back. WE WERE COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED!!! Nothing had flavor. I had a combination plate, green rice, black beans, a chicken corn enchilada and a steak taco. Husband had the Carnitas plate, one of my daughters got the salmon plate and my other one got chicken tenders and fries. I usually eat with my eyes first but that wasn't possible this time it was all just bland looking. My food seemed like it was put in the microwave for a week and that made the green rice extra crunchy and dry along with everything else. My husbands carnitas were NOT carnitas taste but more of a meaty taste (if that makes sense) The salmon plate was the saddest plate I've seen in my life. And last but not least the fries, my little one was bitting a fry and immediately spit it out, unfortunately for her she had already swallowed a tiny piece. She said "it smells like cow poop" to my surprise I HAD to smell it and sure enough, straight up poop!! It was DISGUSTING. After that we had to bring it up to the manager, I didn't catch his name but he took care of us and the waiter was also fantastic. I hope their menu or vendors or whatever it is changes.

They also had all-day Happy Hour deals on Wednesdays. Loved the decor of this restaurant, just an incredibly cool vibe with elaborate Japanese-Mexican fusion art, neon, and even a huge rainbow color-changing tree in the middle of the dining room. We had calamari, corn ribs, steak tacos, king roll, dragon roll, pork belly bowl, and everything was well-cooked and tasty. The hot sauce they give is hot, fair warning! The dishes are complex with lots of varied flavors, which is a good thing because it's not just simple and boring, but it does take time to read the menu carefully. That's probably on us, lol. We will definitely return. Gorgeous restaurant and delicious food, decently priced for what you get.

We visited on a weekday evening for dinner and found that the restaurant had largely retained the same look and layout from its days as TAPS. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only a couple of other occupied tables during our visit. While the menu offered a variety of options, it looked limited and, more importantly, significantly overpriced. Signature rolls ranged from $24 to $26, and even a simple pork-and-rice dish was priced at $25. We ordered the Chicken Tequila Cream Pasta, the Dragon Roll, and two fish tacos. Unfortunately, this is where the experience took a disappointing turn. The Dragon Roll, despite its premium price, looked very basic, consisting mostly of rice with very little filling. The quality and presentation reminded me of sushi from a grocery store counter. The Chicken Tequila Cream Pasta was essentially chicken Alfredo with red bell peppers, served with a slice of basic buttered toast. The fish tacos were another letdown. For $16, the plate included only two small tacos with no rice, beans, or side dishes, just the tacos themselves. To make the experience even more unpleasant, there were no complimentary appetizers, such as bread or edamame, to enjoy while waiting for the meal. The food overall was underwhelming and did not justify the prices being charged. The one bright spot was the service, which was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, Geisha failed to deliver the quality or value its prices suggest. Save yourself the time and money and visit virtually any other restaurant in downtown Brea instead. You'll thank me later.

However, you don't always want to feel like you're trying too hard to change your scenery, bumping you too far out of your comfort zone. The answer my friends, is the good old classic American dive bar. Now, many places like to call themselves a dive bar just because they never clean a single inch of their establishment and have seedy patrons that love to play the more than occasional 80's songs on the jukebox but don't be mistaken, a good dive bar is hard to find. Well, I happen to have found one and it's in Fullerton of all places. That's right, Fullerton, not Los Angeles, nor Hollywood nor some pop-culturally over-hyped city. What makes The Blue Door a good dive bar? First, there's earned consistency & routine. The drinks won't always be made well, or the bartender won't always be attentive but if you come a few times, you'll soon know at what time and day the drinks are made properly by knowing the schedules of the bartenders. Secondly, the drinks are stiff, the service is friendly and nobody bothers you unless you bother them. The atmosphere goes from lively and loud to quiet and solitary, again depending upon when you visit. Lastly, they're open from 6:00AM-2:00AM. They're not just there when the hipsters are around, they're there for you whenever you make the bad decision of using alcohol as an anesthetic.
