    Complimentary Chips & Salsa
    Amy P.

De Oro La Puerta has been on my radar to try for authentic Mexican cuisine. Popped in on a Tuesday afternoon and there was a decent lunch crowd - looks like a fairly good customer base from people working close by. Upon seating we were provided with chips and salsa very quickly and asked for drink orders. A few minutes later, our server came to check in on us to order food. Food cooked fresh as it took about 15-20 minutes. Carne Asada ($24.99): Thin flaps of carne asada with grilled jalapeños, pico de gallo, guacamole, rice, beans, and two tortillas of choice. Meat was a tad overcooked / dry. Used the salsa that was provided with the chips to help with moisture. Steak Fajitas ($25.99): Sizzling cast iron of cut steak, peppers and onions served alongside rice, beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, and two tortillas of choice. Really good flavors from the fajitas though some areas were quite burnt. The sizzling plate also came with a knife left on the side of the cast iron which partially melted due to the heat. Decent portion sizes for the price though it would have been great to get three tortillas for the size of the protein instead of just two. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant inside is a bit dark but they've decorated the ceilings nicely with hanging greenery. Since we went during December, there was also lots of Christmas decor around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ample parking in the shared parking lot - no issues with parking.

If I could give 10 stars I would! This is the first time I dined here tonight with some girlfriends, and the only thing I'm mad about, is that I haven't been here sooner. Family owned business, which I love, kitchen ran by just women which I really love, and the food is so delicious and authentic, it's like home cooking from my grandmother. The staff is so nice and friendly, I met Maggie the owner who was very welcoming as we walked in. Mario was our server, and super attentive. I love the attention to detail down to the uniforms, he was dressed in a button up shirt and tie very clean cut. You could tell he was a server, and it just showed me they take pride in their business. The prices are absolutely beyond fair, and the service is first rate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience inside is so so pretty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I just can't say enough about this place. I did tell them to get used to seeing my face, because I'm going to be a regular!!!

Special event hosted at De Oro La Puerta

Had such an incredible experience at De Oro La Puerta! We hosted an event and the staff was SO helpful and attentive! The hospitality was great and everyone was so kind. They helped with set up and attended to our guests. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This hidden gem is the PERFECT place for your special event.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ceiling decor is absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great portions too! I also appreciate how the owners were really flexible and allowed us to bring our own decor, tea set up, desserts, and balloon backdrop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They even let us have a little craft table for the kids.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall I HIGHLY recommend for your special event or for your next meal. Love this place!

Authentic Mexican food here in Brea! Such welcoming and friendly service just like it would be if you were coming over to dinner at a friend's house. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful inside, decorated with lots of flowers and greenery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was delicious and fresh. Can't wait to be back to try more dishes.

    Carne Asada

The food was very delicious. I got the carne asada and it was very tender and flavorful. I would fully recommend the carne asada plate. The service was kind and very responsive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a really nice and warm vibe in the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is cute![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had lunch with my dad here twice, did not disappoint! I got the fajitas & chicken mole. The fajitas was a large portion enough for me to have leftover for a 2nd meal. The chicken mole was a lot of chicken I did bring some home. I placed an additional order of tortillas to bring home with my leftovers. This place is delicious. Highly recommend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun, cute atmosphere[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] .

A must try. We come here often. Love love the cheese enchiladas with green sauce. Also the fajitas are great. Combo burrito delicious. Albodigas is really the best. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have revamped the interior to really reflect a garden flair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They add to it for each holiday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great for families and date nights alike.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The people here are super welcoming. Treat you like old friends and family.

We also got the chicken à la diabla, and I can honestly say I've never had an à la diabla sauce that good at a restaurant. Everything tasted homemade and so comforting that it felt like leaving a friend's house after a meal his mom made. The vibe was fun, the service was great, and we were lucky enough to have the son taking care of us, which made the experience even better. Thank you for an amazing meal and great conversation. They were covered in a red sauce and cheese. They weren't crunchy but more chewy. The rice and beans were delicious. And the plate covered with 2 well fried eggs. The place was clean and the tables spaced to give room for each without being crowded. For me, the food was good but not very memorable. We decided to give it a shot because the menus and pics I was seeing on Yelp looked good. I feel deceived y'all!!! This spot was hyped up as another "Tempo" and I was hoping for a less loud, club-like vibe with good food and drinks. Apparently, they changed owners AGAIN just a few months ago. All of the legit Mexican items- gone! I was really bummed because Orange County really doesn't need yet another mediocre attempt at a vibey sushi spot that serves WARM FISH. * The bartender was great! I honestly felt horrible for the staff. They open at 3:00, and I came in at 4:00 to a literal graveyard. I really hope the guys who waited on us get out fast before this place goes down. I know their tips are probably not even $20/a day. * The sushi items were all warm. I got nauseous within the hour after consuming them. * By 5:00 only one other table had arrived and they were also shocked at the massive disappointment so they spent their time waiting for cocktails, on their phones trying to make arrangements to go to another restaurant. So within two hours, they had two tables. * Yelp is deceiving- their reviews are mostly for the old place. Their menu is a disaster right now. There's limited sushi, brisket sandwich, wings, and other weird hodgepodge selections of oddities. The interior is almost exactly the same as Taps. They kept all of the furniture and decor. Maybe this should be a tear down and star over. It's really sad because we could use an old school Mexican restaurant with mariachi's and Sunday champagne buffet brunch. Just look at how El Torito Grill in Brea kills it on Sundays. Taps used to kill it on Sundays too. Where are the smart investors?! Come save this spot!
