The ONLY reason that they're getting two stars is because our Waitress was the sweetest most amazing person we've encountered. First of all, they water down drinks and shots. I ordered a Margarita with a shot of tequila and you couldn't taste ANY alcohol in the drink. You know that famous little bite you get from taking a shot of tequila? Yeah you won't get that here because most of it is water. Super disappointing. Secondly the food is just meh. Not worth the price. I ordered a Salad and it had way too much vinaigrette. I was there Saturday about 2 o'clock. It wasn't very crowded which was nice as it is. Great to get a seat right away. Surface wasn't as great as the seating. We had somebody who was extremely slow and couldn't find his way. We ordered a sampler tray of margaritas. Very disappointing as they were only each 2 1/2 ounces which meant you didn't get any liquor and it was all ice for $17. I will never ever buy them again. They didn't even equal one double margarita that you would normally get if you ordered one buy itself. One server brought an extremely hot plate, and as she was setting it down, never expressed that it was hot, And one of our guests burnt his fingers. And she laughed. The plate was so hot, but our food was so cold. As we received our bill looking at our charges, our bill was $87. Which wasn't the problem but there was an added charge of $2.70 and it was considered a surcharge which had absolutely nothing to do with our tip nor the cost of what we ordered. When we asked what it was for the waiter said, would you like me to get the manager and we said yes. Instead he comes back to the table with a one by three plaque that is located at the front of the desk telling that there is going to be a service charge. But at the same time we still wanted to know what it was for. We could not get a manager to our table, even though there was two of them standing at the front counter where they were doing absolutely nothing. Upon leaving we stopped and we asked and we got a snotty remark. We informed them that it was not told to us as we were being seated, nor was it on their menu that we were going to be charged the extra fee. So therefore, we asked for our money back, for the service charge only which took an act of Congress to do so. Because of the way we were treated, not because of the food we will not be back. I think it's hard enough for people to get a family of five together to have a nice lunch let alone be charged for something and then be treated like crap because of it. read more

Gave this place another chance because everywhere else had a waiting list. I got the 3 choice plate ..... The only thing worth eating on there was the Beef Enchilada. The Tamale taste bland and the chicken inside was dried out and the masa was like thick grits. The Beef taco was gross oily and deep fried YUCK. However, most of the food taste seasoned. Been coming here for years. It has it's good and bad just like any other restaurant out there. My visit today I ordered a spinach enchilada plate. It came with green sauce, bean soup, rice, and that little spit full of corn bread you get. The enchiladas were actually pretty good. Our food today was very fresh and hot. Customer service was ok nothing impressive. My reason for 3 stars is the wait is always long. The restaurant can be dead and you sit there wondering if they killed the cow yet. Also parents out there, every Wednesday kids meals are only $1. I was charged full price for my daughters meal until I said something and the girl said that they will change it to $1 because I brought it up to her attention. We just came back from El Torito. We love eating here. The food and service is always good. Today was not the case. Our waitress named Katie was horrible and rude. While waiting to be seated we were looking at the Valentines Day special in the lobby. We were seated and the waitress took around 15 minutes to come say hello and take our drink order. She came back with our drinks (sodas) and I said we are ready to order. She said I will come right back. Waited another 10minutes. She was taking care of 4 other tables. She finally came back and asked if we were ready and I said we have been ready. She apologized and said "we had to wait because there are other people ahead of us". Right there started off wrong already. So I said we wanted the Vday special that's out front. She said she needed to get those menus and that front desk should have given us those menus. I said we don't need them we already looked at them and know what we want. She said no, she needed to bring us the menu. Fine. She left and another 10 minutes went by and she finally came back with the famous menu. I just said ok I'm ready. She took our order finally. That was the last time we saw her until it was time to pay. No refills no nothing. The food came out. Correct and delicious. No problem with the food. We kindly asked the guy who brought our order for a box. He brought us a box promptly. All this time we kept seeing the waitress taking care of the other tables around us and never acknowledged us or check if we needed anything. She only showed up to give us the bill. She asked if we needed any boxes and I said no we already got one and she litterly scolded me and said next time If I needed anything I needed to ask her only. I went off and said well I'm paying for a service that you are not giving us. She then said well I will wait for your payment so you don't have to wait on me. I do have other customers to attend who were here before you. She then went on to call me a princess. I should have spoken to a manager but didn't. I wish I did. Hopefully a manager is reading my review. We will go back because we love the food but I will wait for a different server if they give us Katie again. She's terrible. Terrible meal and service, upon being seated they took our drink order to get drinks took 15 min they they took our order we sat there ate chips and salsa and was asked if we wanted more chips and salsa and drinks we said yes we waited and waited mind you we were asked by the manager neither came I had to flag someone down to get service food finally came it was cold we finally got our refills on drinks overall the food wasn't that good and service is terrible especially for a slow Thursday night, I heard people asking for happy hour special but were told they had to sit in bar area, you probably would be more busy if you just opened it to everyone and you would be more busy if your service was better I wasn't thanked nor was I even given a smile in the restaurant not a place I would want to be spending my money at. read more

Very nice bartender and good food but management allows all the lights to be placed on hi-beams 40 minutes before closing, ruining a delightful meal and drink.
