Red pork tamale was dry and way too big, didn't have enough sauce. Lengua was chunky and chewy, almost tasted spoiled. The burrito was deep fried and the cheese on top tasted sour, definitely was bad or wasn't chihuahua cheese, rice was stuck together and dried out, for sure microwaved from at least the day before. Ok...here we go, I'm only doing this in hopes that the business owner sees this and a change is made. I have been here when they changed owners and never had any issues with the gentleman at the counter, until the last few times I've been there with a young lady working the till. I tried calling in my order...phones on silent.... Called multiple times...no answer, ok no worries maybe they are busy? No! No one in there when I arrive, the phone was on silent! How many customers are they loosing bc you don't any to take phone orders. I get there and the prices are different from the menu, she says they are changing the pricing bc of New owners? So then why do you give out menus with old pricing, just makes no logical sense... Seems like something shady is going on with her and worst of all she is training a new girl! I'm from Texas and just had some truly authentic tacos. Never thought I would find lingua (beef tongue)! The menu had some other appealing choices, but I was too full to go for round 2. Put El Toro negra it on your Mexican must try destination! read more

I go here about once a week and have been pretty happy with the food, but today I ordered carnitas tacos and guacamole. The meat in the tacos was so over cooked that it was totally inedible! I would have taken it back but had an appointment and didn't have time. They had to have known that crispy, burnt meat was not acceptable. Maybe I will go to Taco Grill across Route 59 from now on. OMG! Walked in here one day. Food was greasy. They nickel and dime you. They're so cheap they charge you for the minuscule amount of anything you ask for. Just moved to Warrenville and stopped in for dinner on June 11th. I ordered a pork tamale in addition to three lamb tacos and Chile rellenos. The tamale was the highlight of my meal but the lamb tacos were under seasoned and I found three pieces of bone. As for the chile rellenos it was tasty but soggy leading me to believe it was fried earlier and reheated when I ordered it. The Mrs ordered Mole Rojo and she enjoyed it. The staff was very attentive and friendly and we have decided to give the restaurant another try for that reason and the five different salsas as they helped to spice up the tacos. Really good Mexican place with authentic recipes and flavors. I had the three-taco plate with rice and beans. The tacos were al pastor, carne asada, and barbacoa. Freshly made chips with a wide variety of salsas. The full range of Mexican drinks were available; I had a Topo Chico. Highly recommended! read more

What a disappointment. I am always on the lookout for a good new local Mexican place, but this place was not it. I ordered the Carne Asada at the recommendation of the order taker as one of the house specialties. It was so tough, I couldn't even cut it with a sharp knife. Got some takeout from here. Kid was thrilled with her lamb tacos, my vegetarian tacos were actually great too. Husband wasn't stoked about his al pastor burrito, but still said it was good. We will definitely be going back. You should give it a try, then roll on over to La Michoacana in the same strip mall for some ice cream. read more

Terrible customer service and can't take an order correctly. Gave me the wrong order, decided to close 30 mins early, so didn't answer my phone call 5 mins after picking up my order, which was wrong, so that I could either get the correct order or a refund. had to go to the taco grill across the street which is 1000 times better. Also , el toro negro did not respond to my voice message or my fb message about this. Do not recommend unless you want terrible service. read more
