I believe this is harassment and retaliation for my unfavorable review. I was also told that Miguel de Alba learned the employee had spoken with me and then told everyone not to let me in. After the original incident, I stopped going to the store. I returned only because an employee approached me, told me Miguel de Alba was gone, and encouraged me to come back. That same employee later told me that Miguel de Alba had instructed employees not to let me in. I was accused of shoplifting and prevented from leaving the store. There was security-camera footage of the incident, so the owners can review it and see what happened for themselves. I believe it is unacceptable for a manager to ban a customer because of an unfavorable review, especially after the customer was accused of theft and prevented from leaving. I also believe it is unacceptable for management to involve employees and other store locations in what appears to be an ongoing effort to keep me out and punish me for speaking publicly about my experience. Because of these events, I no longer feel safe returning to this store or visiting other locations in my neighborhood. I believe the way I have been treated amounts to harassment. I still appreciate the employees who have treated me well and believe the food is good. My concerns are specifically about Miguel de Alba, the management, and the way this business has handled my complaint. I will not be returning or attempting to resolve this directly with Miguel de Alba. I am documenting my experience and would still welcome direct communication from the owner.

It was pretty cold outside that evening, so we decided to sit on the outdoor patio. Fortunately, we found a table right next to a heater, which made it warm, cozy. I've been to almost all of Urth Caffé's locations, including Melrose, Santa Monica, Pasadena, and Laguna Beach, and I have always found their food and drinks delicious. The service is also consistently good at every location I've visited. The only downside is that it's always difficult to find street parking around this location, so that evening we ended up paying $10 for parking.
