Tiny ass chaco taco for $8

Overhyped hipster bs. Scoops are tiny for $8. And the chaco taco is tiny as well and has a weird orange ice cream instead of the usual vanilla. Baskin Robbins and Handels are way better and cheaper.

Ordered pick up from Louise's Trattoria a couple doors down and it wasn't ready yet and I couldn't help but to stop by and grab a milkshake. Awesome service as always, allowing me to try many different flavors so that I can decide what three flavors I want for my milkshake and I decided to go with Banana Bread w/ strawberry jam (I was informed it has alcohol in it, not sure what kind,) Oishii brand Strawberry Pretzel Salad, and then Wild-Foraged Berry Slab Pie! Milkshake 5/5 Consistency is always on point, not too thick, not too runny. This combination was AMAZING and unfortunately I'll probably never get to have it again since the flavors were either last chance or seasonal limited time flavors :( I'll keep coming back here and I'll leave with a shake every single time. No other place can match the consistency of their shakes and no other place has as many unique flavors as salt & straw. Pull up! Grab a shake, grab a cone or just sample some flavors :)

New menu alert! For January, they rolled out their vegan specials (dairy-free), and I had to try them. I went with Death by Chocolate Cake and Marionberry Oatmeal Cobbler--both were delectable. The chocolate was hands down my favorite--rich, flavorful, and straight-up decadent. If you're a chocolate lover, this one is a must. The oatmeal cobbler was on the lighter side in terms of flavor, but the Marionberry really pulled everything together for a nice balance. I love stopping by Salt & Straw to see what new flavors they're featuring. They always bring something creative to the menu, and it never disappoints!

Salt and straw never misses. I live for their seasonal flavors. We went during the chocolatier series. As a chocolate lover, I thought the flavors were really unique. Not my favorite ever but still pretty solid.

Ummm yes! All the rumors are true! This is THE place for fantastic ice cream and service. The lavender honey & strawberry tres leches flavors were the stars for me after tasting my heart out. But, you truly can't go wrong here. Cheers!

After walking around the Galleria. We wanted some ice cream, because why not? They offer samples of any of their gelato creations. They even use actual spoons and not the cheap plastic throw away shovel ones. They have multiple spoon chutes to return the used spoons, which I've never seen before. They have a lot of different interesting combinations. Some weird ones like blue cheese, rhubarb, black pepper and others. But they also had some that looked really good too. I got 2 scoops, including, their lavander honey and their strawberry and coconut water. It was creamy and thick. Each one had its own unique flavors. Price wise considering we were in a bougie area with Rolls Royce and Bentleys being parked by guys in suits it was not bad. $8.50 for a double scoop. The guy working behind the counter was super nice and patient (take some notes Il Gusto of West Covina). A pleasure to order from him.

loved the sea salt and caramel ice cream!! The lavender ice cream was also a great one to taste, will certainly get that one next, completely unexpected flavor but well worth the new experience. And who doesn't love an over cream shop that offers pup cups?!

Love that you may try many different ice cream samples before settling on your final choices. I tried Cinnamon Snickerdoodle and chocolate gooey brownie. Both were rich and fabulous!

Double the scoops, double the fun.

It's always a good time to get ice cream in my house, so when we were driving home and passed by this Salt & Straw location I knew destiny was falling. This small shop is part of a larger chain that I once had in Las Vegas, but the first time I got it I wasn't completely blown away so I was ready to give it another go. This location is super charming when you walk in and are greeting by some super cool bags, hats, and other random merchandise. The staff here were all super friendly and super quick to get us our scoops. For flavours, I ended up going with one scoop of the Chocolate Gooey Brownie and another that I honestly can't remember the name of, but it was something along the lines of mint Oreo. Let me tell you, Salt & Straw definitely redeemed themselves on this visit and both flavours were absolutely delicious. The mint Oreo had the perfect blend of Oreo cookies and mint while the chocolate gooey brownie lived up to its name, super duper gooey. Overall, this Salt & Straw location won me over and I'll definitely be back in the future. The staff was kind, the ice cream was delicious, and the neighborhood looks like a fun place to walk around. I'll definitely be back in the future! Chocolate Gooey Brownie

Love salt and straw! I love how creative they get with their flavors. My favorite Limited Edition series is the cereal flavors. This salt and straw is very close to where I live and is my go to whenever I am craving a quick dessert. The staff are so friendly and VERY patient because depending on the flavors being offered I take time to try each one to make sure I choose the right flavors. The vibe of the space is great since the staff are amazing and they always have great music playing.

They are currently offering popular flavors from "the cookbook series". The strawberry tres leches and the vanilla custard were my top favorites. The staff were nice and willing to help you try out the various flavors they offer. Thankfully there wasn't a line so it was quick getting my ice cream of my choosing.

I've been meaning to try this place for so long! Came to this specific location before 10 pm on a Tuesday. There were parking spots open along the street but surprisingly a good amount of people in the shop. The inside is small and there are some benches outside to sit at. The employees all were so friendly and kind. They let me, my boyfriend, and my little brother try as many flavors as we wanted. The selection was pretty interesting, not as expansive as Wanderlust but just as unique. I decided to try the strawberry balsamic with black pepper, the olive oil, and the peach & blue cheese. I really really enjoyed the peach & blue cheese so I got 1 scoop on a waffle cone. I wouldn't get a waffle cone again because the scoops are gigantic!! It is like $6 for 1 scoop but totally worth it since they give you so much. My brother got the honey lavender and the white chocolate almond (holiday flavor) while my boyfriend got a milkshake with honey lavender and pumpkin bread ("last scoop" previous season flavor). The milkshake comes with 3 scoops that you can mix and match. I was tempted to get one but it would probably be way too much for me. I don't think I would really get anything else but the peach & blue cheese out of their signature flavors. I do wish they had more fruity options that aren't sorbet. I'll be sure to check back for their seasonal flavors!

Then, an eternity ago, it closed and we were sad. Then Long Beach Creamery opened and we weren't that sad for that long, but still, I absolutely still thought about them every once in a while, sad that they'd left. Then, a much closer eternity ago (about a year ago - I've been super burned-out and not finishing my reviews), I was on my way from an event back to the blue line and walked by and noticed that they had, in fact, just moved. So obviously we had to get some. Verdict - yes, it absolutely was as good as I remembered. I wouldn't go back to DTLA just for ice cream, Long Beach Creamery being walking distance and wonderful, but I would absolutely stop here if I were back in DTLA and wanted ice cream. It's a bit pricey, but all craft ice cream is going to be, and it is definitely craft. And you can save a lot by getting a 3-scoop, which is very much enough to share for two people, if not slightly too much.

Unfortunately, we realized that we had to decide between possibly not being led into our reserved seat at the theater or missing out on this delicious dessert. It was just a matter of not realizing how long it would take. I don't blame Somisomi because they had a huge number of ahbong to make fresh, and of course, there was no way to cut in line We ended up telling the lovely staff that we had to leave, and to please give our orders under "Coco" to someone for free so it wouldn't be wasted.
