You know I'm really trying to like this place it is the closest Mexican restaurant to me, and they have some good stuff on the menu. I walk in Sunday afternoon there are lot of cars in the parking lot I'm wondering if I might not get a seat. I peeked in and the restaurant was full however the bar was completely empty ... 0 seats taken at the bar. I advise the host that I will sit at the bar because it's the only place where seating is available he replied "We don't have a bartender right now so we will get to you as soon as we can. " So I sit at the bar and in less than 4 minutes somebody brings me a menu and asks what I like to drink. That's reasonable. In the meantime I watch no less than four different employees go behind the bar and make their own drinks. The special was the jumbo lime margarita so I tried it. Actually I've had it before and it wasn't bad ...however this time it tasted like diluted Squirt. I don't like different people who are not the bartender making my drinks every time . You get crap consistency. Last time I was here the bartender that was at work spent more time waiting on tables and they did waiting on the bar patrons. The food is good but not great. Exception: The guacamole above average like the other locations. I've had fajitas here before they are good but expensive. And I weigh the taste and quantity of meat or shrimp versus the dollar amount. Most other places give more food for less money and the taste is just as good. Even non Mexican places that serve Mexican food and serve fajitas give you more food for your money. And don't get me started on their Taco Tuesday there's nothing special about it. My wife is already done with this place I decided to give it a couple of extra chances because I really want it to be better. I like their outside patio in the summer I like the location. Now when I want Mexican I either make it at home or I drive to Milan, Adrian,Tecumseh Monroe, Lambertville or Toledo. read more

Wow!! Expectation EXCEEDED. Honestly the best Mexican food within a 100 mile radius. I had the bbq pork tacos with mango salsa and it was fantastic. Others had the tamales and chicken tacos which they also loved. They also have GREAT service. Our waiter was so attentive and I never ran out of water or chips and salsa. I do not understand the low rating! The margaritas are GIGANTIC and they are STRONG. Let me tell you - the ladies next to us had one margarita and were laughing so hard. This place is fantastic. Best addition to Dundee in 10 years. I will be coming again!! read more

This is the better one. It's easy to get to off of M50. Almost right across from Kroger and before you go towards Cabela. Good news if there's flooding because the local waterways don't play. Cleaner, better managed. There are so many Mexican restaurants in the area that you will find lots of favorites. This ones great for when you are taking relatives to Cabela's or St.Julian's. read more

Margaritas are Pricey but good. The food was delicious. If you like mole' try theirs. Ask for "hot" salsa and they delivered. Very good. Would recommend but it's not cheap Mexican food. read more

My family's first visit - but certainly won't be the last! This place is clean, well organized, attentive staff and great food. Real Mexican experience. I had the skirt steak, chicken and tortillas. Family had hard shell tacos and a burrito. All very well seasoned and cooked. I found my new "go-to" Mexican restaurant. Great experience and reasonable prices. I was working nearby, so I stopped in for lunch, their massive lunch menu calling me all week. The folks at El Vaquero did not disappoint. Delightfully friendly servers, extremely clean restaurant (& bathroom!), and satisfying lunch special of Quesadilla Vegetales, all make me want to return quickly for another visit. To top it all off, I was most impressed with the salsa, which has a hint of smoky flavor that is unique compared to other Mexican restaurants I've visited, plus the hot sauce I asked for to add to it was off-the-chart awesome, which was both spicy (but not TOO spicy) & had amazing flavor as well! I'll definitely visit again if I'm in the area! read more

We've eaten here before, and the one in Monroe (many times). I get the price of food has gone up recently. My wife ordered a captain and diet. We got put bill for it $10.40 . We were shocked. Also, I order the same meal (over and over again), I subbed the pineapple for Poblano pepper. Never a upcharge, tonight $2. The outrageous price for the drink is a deal breaker. This place is great! The atmosphere is nice and the food is excellent! The staff is very friendly and efficient. Chips and salsa are great! Everything I've tried has been outstanding, but the best experience I've had was when I took my Mom there. She ordered the Chile Relleno ( poblano pepper stuffed with cheese and the breaded and fried). The waiter came out and said she would need to pick something else because the chef said the poblano's that were delivered were not a high enough quality and he wouldn't serve substandard food. Dining in is when you get better service. Staff nice and better portions. Online orders with either doordash or pick up is the worst. It seems they rush orders without even reading the order. The receipts are accurate but simple requests are ignored such as no tomato, no sour cream on one order and another requesting side of beans. Also, the portion size is half the size for dining in. This has happened twice with me, and once with my daughter. For what we pay, you'd think they would do a better job. read more

Food was subpar on a second visit and this visit both meals was drowning in salt and completely ruined and inedible. We were exceptionally pleased with our meal. We tucked in so fast I forgot to take a picture. I had a chimichanga supreme and my wife had the ala cart chimi and a cheese enchilada. We ate like starving people. It was gone before I knew it. Emilio was out server and he was superb. He was fast, attentive and got our orders perfectly. He was quite personable.
