Asia Blue is one of those places that have authentic taste but keep a low profile because they're more focused on delivering quality than nonessential marketing. I have passed by their restaurant many times, but it never occurred to me to go in until one day I was surprised to see them ranked in the top 100 ramen places nationally on Yelp! With less than 300 reviews, I was skeptical at first but was intrigued to give it a try, and I'm so glad that I did! I visited on a Friday afternoon right before New Year's and was greeted warmly by the staff inside. As I was indecisive on what to order in the ramen section, I asked the staff for suggestions. She was kind to walk me through the menu without rushing to get an order, and she mentioned that their most popular item is actually the beef noodles. That was all I needed to make a decision to try the beef noodles. While waiting for the food, I chatted with the staff and learned that the restaurant opened right before the pandemic then shifted their model to take-out only as the pandemic begin. Since then, they've tried to make use of their restaurant space to return to dine-in but it has been difficult to find reliable workers. In the interest of keeping the quality consistent and customers happy, they've decided to make sacrifices to keep the business model as is for take-out only instead of scaling up with additional staff, which is such a shame given the rent in the area is not cheap and they have such a beautiful space! When you hear "take-out only", I know what you're thinking, BUT I promise you this is the best takeout food you will ever have! The packaging is very well-designed to keep the flavors and ingredients at its finest! As I mentioned, I ordered the beef noodles, and typically noodle dishes are not ideal for takeout, but Asia Blue separates the soup from the noodles so that the noodles are not soggy, and even after half hour, the soup stayed warm and flavorful. The noodles also came paired with many mini side dishes as palate cleansers, which were a nice surprise. From my conversation with the staff, I've also learned that this is one of the rare places that truly make their broth fresh from premium ingredients! You can be sure that it's MSG free and packed with healthy nutrients, and that's a quality that you can taste. I highly recommend this place for your next ramen adventure, and I certainly will be returning again very soon to try the other menu items. :) read more

This is a full sit down restaurant but only does To-Go orders. This place opened a before Covid. When Covid hit, they did To-Go only and stayed that way since. When you pickup your food, the sit down area is dark, and there isn't much of a waiting area. It looks to be run by two folks, the cook and the cashier. It is probably best to order over the app, as the one cashier is busy packing the food in the fancy packaging and dealing with the money transactions. Since it is only two people, it can be slow to get your food when it is busy. I waited an additional 20 mins from the projected time it was suppose to be done. As for the food, the miso ramen was packed in this fancy box. The box contained the soup separated from the noodles with a few side dishes. I believe this is the only vegi ramen they offer. It is nothing special. The broth is basically miso soup with soy sauce. (2 out of 5) The cold sesame noodles was better. It had more flavor. (4 out of 5) The Salt & Pepper Chicken was good (4.5 out of 5). I couldn't help eating it while in the car, as it smelled so good. The Braised Pork over rice was decent. It was cut up thick pork belly, braised in an Asian brown sauce. The flavoring was a little one sided. (3 out of 5). I'm giving this place an overall 3 stars because the food isn't something to rave about. Packaging and presentation were great, but tastes was more important to me. read more

Today's choices are: - spicy black pepper beef rice -$12.95 - Tainan danzai noodles set (where you get the big big box!) - $15.95 - the plum juice with osmanthus! - $4.95 Overall dishes were great. Might be heavy pour on the pepper sauce but some may appreciate that more. Danzai noodles came in that famous big blue box packs package! I've ordered from Asia Blue twice and have always been surprised at how large their selection is on their menu! Everything from Vietnamese, to Thai, to Taiwanese and Malaysian! How do you even keep up with such a big menu?! I think this place is solely take out cause they have a seating area but it's not open! Secondly, their packaging is out of this world! Everything comes in a large box and each one of the ingredients for a noodle soup so separately in little cups! I feel like it's a bit excessive really.. though aesthetically pleasing, it also causes a lot of unnecessary waste! The laksa was flavorful, not the best I've ever had but decent. Such a cute little Restuarant hidden in SugarLand. The plaza itself is hidden behind HWY 6. This is a take out place, no sit down. Their take out package is the cutest I ever seen. My husband order the Beef Noodle Soup $17.95 4/5 stars. I order Braised Minced Pork with Rice $11.95 4.5/5 stars. I really like this rice plate. Takeout noodle kitchen? Sign me up. We tried the lo mein, Singapore noodles, and Japanese chicken curry. The Japanese chicken curry was our favorite by far. Lots of tender chicken and thick curry and was really enjoyed by everyone. Singapore noodles were too oily and had too many onions, wasnt impressed w the flavor of this dish. Combo lo mein was just ok, lots of veggies. While my kids normally love this dish, they had a hard time finishing this one. Portions are good. Not a fan of any of the 3 sides (brothy soup and some seaweed and another veggie). Packaging is superb, top tier. Food is made to order so be aware to call ahead at least 30 min in advance. I was drawn to this restaurant right away from the photos of the to go boxes. I am completely blown away by how fancy these were (a little suitcase for my beef noodle soup?!?!...and not only a suitcase, but little compartments for each little side dish that came with it). This creative packaging hits the spot for a graphic designer eye. I love how they had very unique side dishes that came with some of the dishes. Each was a very small amount, but loved that they included things like seaweed salad, which was a huge plus for me. The food itself was good, but I am sure that the presentation elevated the meal for me. That being said, I'm still giving this restaurant 4 stars. The menu is HUGE (pretty much all diff genres of different asian food), and I only tried a handful of items, so I'm still intrigued enough to come back to try more. Oh also, they are still not open for Dine In. And also a bit understaffed. Hope they get more staff or open up for dine in soon! Some items I tried: - Beef noodle soup: Loved the presentation. It included HUGE pieces of meat. The noodle texture was PERFECT, a good amount of chew. Reminded me of handmade noodles. But the soup was slightly too salty for me. Let's say, I had no desire to drink the soup after eating the contents. - Popcorn chicken: my kids loved this, as always. But after taking this home, (I wish I could have tried this RIGHT after it was cooked) , the outside was still crispy, but the inside was just so tough. Not sure if I had an accurate view of this since I ate it at room temperature (pretty much cold). I have high expectations for my popcorn chicken though. Wish the meat was more tender/soft even after cooling off a bit. - Japanese Chicken Curry: This tasted as I thought it was. Similar to the one we make at home with the curry blocks. Was decent (a hint too spicy for my kids), but nothing too special. - Popcorn Chicken over Minced Pork Rice: Thought we were getting taiwanese braised mince pork AND popcorn chicken over rice. But it pretty much just looked like popcorn chicken over rice. Didn't see anything related to minced pork in there. A little confused and not sure if our order was wrong, but in the end, it still tasted pretty good. This was slightly different from the appetizer popcorn chicken because it has some extra little things in it (possibly some pickled veggies or something) to go with our rice and give it a little kick. I ordered delivery from Asia Blue and it came in a big box. The packaging was neat. I ordered tonkatsu ramen, deep fried sesame ball with red bean paste, and tofu pudding with ginger sauce. I love the side dishes that came with the ramen but I would prefer a ramen egg than a regular egg). The ramen noodles weren't a lot but the ingredients (black fungus, corn, pork, and bamboo shoots) that came with the noodles were plentiful. The broth was good but towards the oily side. The pork was charred well. The deep fried sesame balls with red bean paste were good but they were bite-size. Thus not worth the money. The tofu pudding wasn't smooth and the ginger sauce has a strange taste (not gingery taste). Can't eat the tofu pudding without the ginger sauce because it would be tasteless. read more

I'm sorry but a regular sized bowl of Beef Noodle Soup should NOT cost $16+ (after tax and tip), no matter how nice the to-go packaging is. Last time I checked I was living in Houston, not New York. Hell, in New York $16 can almost get you a bowl of Ichiran's heavenly ramen, and Asia Blue might as well be serving dish soap if we were to compare the two. I might consider paying that price if this was the Michelin star Beef Noodle Soup from Taiwan that use wagyu grade beef. But this was just some average noodle soup that can barely hold its own next to San Dong's well known Beef Noodle Soup in Chinatown, which you could get for half the price. Hands down the best Gua Bao (braised pork belly bun) I've had in Houston, and definitely as legit as it gets to the real deal I grew up eating in Taiwan. The braised pork belly is very flavorful, tender, and super tasty, and is paired with all the right condiments a Taiwanese gua Bao should have: cilantro, Suan Tsai (pickled mustard greens, and sweetened peanut powder. Also love that the peanut powder has chunks of crunchy peanuts for added texture (versus just a fine powder). Such deliciousness for us lucky Houstonians to enjoy without having to travel overseas. Also enjoyed the braised pork chop rice as well. The pork chop was moist and flavorful, super delicious as well. I've also tried a few other items on their menu (bibimbap, lotus root, bean curd + seaweed + soy sauce marinated beef) and they were decent as well. I've been wanting to try this restaurant out for quite some time and decided to go. To be noted, that as of now, it is take out only. But once they do decide to do eat in again, it is a cute spot. There's tons of parking as it is in a shopping center. I opted for the Laska, and Chinese broccoli and oyster sauce. Upon walking in, I was greeted promptly. The lady handed me a menu and took my order. About 10 minutes later, the lady brought my food out to my car for me which wasn't expected and was really welcomed. The packaging was amazing! I've ordered Laska, and ramen before, as carry-out, and the packaging was typical. However, at this restaurant, it was well organized and compartmentalized to accommodate all of the fix-ins. The food was still hot and flavorful. The Laska was really good and flavorful and the Chinese broccoli dipped in the oyster sauce was delish! I'd rate the food a 5 out of 5. I never had ramen arranged for me like this so it was very interesting lol. The lady who greeted me was very sweet and she knew what my order was without me mentioning it and handed it to me right when I walked in. (I ordered a grilled chicken ramen bowl) There is still currently no dine-in availability so I ate the ramen at home. I loved the fresh crunchiness of the seaweed and bamboo and the egg was just boiled to the right consistency. The chicken was very tender but also had a hint of smokiness from the grill that I really liked. The broth itself was a bit salty for my palate but all in all I enjoyed my meal. Finally I got the chance to order from Asia Blue. I read so many good things on Yelp and I just had to try. At first look, the packaging is just *chef's kiss* . It comes all neatly placed with assorted toppings and the soup and noodles were separated but were in the same box so that nothing would spill. You could eat over the to go box holder which was great because soup is messy! The soup stayed nice and hot even after a 40 minute drive from Missouri city to Spring TX. My only complaint is that the soups were on the greasier side. My personal preference is for lighter soups rather than heavy and oily. But it's hard to complain when everything is so fresh and beautifully presented- as pretty as can be in a COVID to go world! I'm very impressed. All in all, I would definitely check this place out if I were you! They have such a nice variety of Asian dishes from Japanese to Chinese to Taiwanese to Thai cuisine. This place puts a lot of stock in its presentation. The boxes for the soups is really neat, like a cardboard briefcase of food with each element of the entree separated out so that the texture stays fresh. We got the beef noodle soup, which had very tasty noodles that have a hand-made texture, and the taste was very flavorful. The meat could be a little more tender, but it was still delicious. We also got the popcorn chicken. Unfortunately, this is harder to maintain in texture as to-go since it wasn't in a breathable container, so I was sad to say they were a little more soggy than crispy. I'm sure dine-in would be much better. The taste was good though, a little spicy for kids but they still liked it. This review is just for the soft opening -- right now in the soft opening they have only their noodle dishes (but eventually they'll have breakfast starting at 6am when they'll open - and afternoon tea and other options as well) I ordered the Laksa Noodle. I enjoyed it -- It was spicy, but I like my food pretty spicy so I wish it had even more heat in it. My only question would be, is the broth supposed to be thick like what I got today? I feel like other laksa dishes I've had in the past had thinner/smoother broths. G loved her Beef Noodle Soup. She (aided by our 2 year old) devoured the entire bowl. There was no wait to be seated, and the food came out within 15-25 min of ordering (15 min for my Laksa, 25 min for G's Beef Noodle Soup). Overall, the ambiance is nice, the menu is pretty diverse in terms of types of noodle dishes you can choose from, BUT the pricing is kind of hefty. It's the kind of pricing you'd expect at an upscale Asian fusion place in Midtown or the Galleria area, for example -- not what you'd expect from a plaza in Sugar Land. That being said my order was salt and pepper hockey, dumplings, egg rolls, beef fried rice, beef noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, laksa, spicy seafood soup and a lemonade. Of all that food the only things that were good or ok were the dumplings, popcorn chicken and the lemonade. The friend rice was so burned you could taste the burned pan. The egg rolls were saturated with oil and mush in the middle. Literally everyone except the one person that ordered chicken noodle soup had a severe stomach ache. After sitting on an airplane, in a rental car, and on a hotel office chair I decided my blood sugar needed a boost. The menu of this establishment was multi-Asian, which was intriguing. So I jumped aboard and it was well worth the short trip from the hotel. Packed in neat cardboard carrier with Korean banchan appetizers, the food was presented so nicely this biz-traveler almost wept. OK, not really, but it was pretty cool. The seaweed soup was spot on, not too salty, and the three banchan offerings were fresh and tasty. The udon noodles with seafood were very nicely prepared, shrimp not rubbery, and all was well. The tempura shrimp were tasty although a bit small, perhaps, but hey, they're called SHRIMP! I didn't have the sit-down experience so can't comment on the table service, but the kind lady who greeted me at the take-out counter knew my name, had my food just-packaged, and was all smiles and good vibes. This is the best Asian restaurant in Houston, bar none! I discovered this place only recently. Since I'm from Taiwan, I tested the water with Tainan Danzai Noodle 擔仔麵, a Taiwanese local specialty, and was blown away immediately! Not only by its authenticity but also by its presentation and the well-thought-out packaging (the food box was an original design by the owner, I was told. It is one of the kind). Since then, I tried different items every week, from Japanese Curry to Korean Bibimbap Rice, and it never disappointed me. My plan is to try out dishes from all different nationalities, haha. I ordered the Korean Bibimpap and Japanese baked green tea cheese cake. My food was great! The meal came with a large portion (I was too stuffed to eat everything in one sitting). The beef didn't seem very high quality as I had to spit out several chunks of grizzle or fat. I used the red sauce to drizzle over my food. The red sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. It really enhanced the flavor of my bowl. I enjoyed my seaweed soup but I wish it was a bit more flavorful. The lotus was okay. The green tea baked cheese cake was tiny and pretty un-flavorful. I can't believe I paid almost $4 for a tiny slice of cake that had nearly no flavor...Maybe their other desserts are better. The woman at the front was super friendly and helpful. First time trying this restaurant while visiting from California for the holidays. I have to say that I am extremely impressed by how eco-conscious they are--it's by far the most that I've seen in Houston, let alone Texas. The takeout container is about the size of a pizza box. Each element of the dish (Laksa in my case) along with the side dishes are separated in their own containers so that it's not a soggy mess by the time you consume it. What's fascinating is the sticker on the inside face of the box that outlines which elements of the packaging are biodegradable and which are not. I've never seen anything like this before and am wondering why other restaurants haven't followed suit, especially with the increased takeout volume (and therefore single-use plastic waste) during the pandemic. Anyway, their takeout game is a 10/10 to me. As for the food, the Laksa and the accompanying side dishes were great. Lots of clam meat and creamy coconut milk goodness that I would expect from this classic Singaporean dish. I'm really excited to return and try more of their menu. read more

The restaurant is currently only open for take out. The have a convenient online website that takes orders for pickup/togo. They are using 3rd party delivery serves as well but I try to give back to restaurants directly by ordering through them directly, if possible. The packaging for togo is immaculate and amazing. High quality stuff! Food is still amazing and just as good in the comforts of your home. Portion sizes are huge. Especially the combo lo mein. Still highly recommended!
