Cool spot for a cold one.

Cool little neighborhood bar. I didn't spend a lot of time here but, the place seems friendly and fun. Hot bartendress helps too.

Great for live music and some fun! Historical building in the cute little otherwise sleepy town of El Verano in Sonoma Valley.

We actually were trying to hit up another pizza joint nearby but it ended up being closed, which…read morewas a blessing in disguise because Buck's Place is a diamond in the rough! Small parking lot available around back! Large outdoor patio, separate bar area, and expansive dining room provide you with many an option for small to large groups! The interior has local hangout/dive bar written all over it, but in a casual, welcoming vibe. We had bar service since the dining room wasn't open quite yet when we arrived! The bartender was confident, efficient, and welcoming, even with a large crowd of people! The food far exceeded our expectations! The mozzarella sticks are truly a STAR...perfectly crunchy with a tender, "ideal for the cheese pull" center! We had the Vodka Sauce pizza, which was truly delicious...taking the normal red sauce pizza up a notch with the twist! You cannot skip the side of ranch...which rivals even the best Midwest recipe I could remember! If you want solid pizza and bar food after a long day of exploring the nearby vineyards, Buck's Place is where it's at!

We shared a sausage pizza, and added some mushrooms to it, and it was also quite good. Great place to drop in, either for the patio, the bar, or the restaurant. I understand they often have live music on the weekends. Bonus points for all of the staff being super friendly! See you here soon! This is a backwoods Sonoma gem!

Yesterday was a low key chill day, and we needed a place to just relax and begin to let go of all the stress. The girl and the fig was just right. We are like an hour away from Sonoma, and we been here many times just never together. The restaurant's environment is extremely amazing. We showed up, no previous reservation made,we showed up during their peak hours and they managed to seat us within 5 mins perfectly were we requested. Perfect ambiance to sit, drink, eat and enjoy a beautiful sunset. We started with The Morel mushroom tartare, which is morel mushrooms, with an egg, shallots and chives oil over a perfectly well toasted sourdough. Delicious! The steak tartare did not disappoint either. Great balance of flavor between the two. The mushroom earthy flavors along with a light hint of pesto from the morel tartare really balanced out the richness from the steak tartare. The pickled figs served with in the steak tartare really called my attention as they were delicious as well. That was my first having pickled figs :) The salad was delicious, I am a sucker for cheese and the perfectly ripe figs along with the chèvre cheese truly hit the spot. The wild flounder pouched was the wild surprise! I love a restaurant that preps their seafood just right. I love seafood! And I do not like it when it's over cooked. This dish did not disappoint! It was so rich and delicious. Flaky yet nicely seared on one side full of that citrus flavors along which just enhances fish's flavor once it hits the taste buds! The flounder was served over a bed of mashed potato and spinach. That perfect combination. The drinks were delicious as well. Honestly, the service, the food, the vibe, the sunset it was all perfect. Thank you for an amazing time and delicious food the girl and the fig!

I just didn't order anything that blew me away or that I think is particularly unique or difficult, hence the 4 stars. I came with a group for lunch on a sunny Saturday and sat on the patio. Although there are umbrellas, our specific table was exposed and we were roasting! They were kind enough to relocate us to another part of the patio despite the crowds. Otherwise, it felt bright and cheery! For food, I ordered the fig & arugula salad and the smoked salmon. The salad was a great portion size for a meal (or to share as a side), it was perfectly dressed, and the toppings were proportional & balanced. One of the better salads I've had out! The smoked salmon was good but nothing to write home about. Their house chips are nice and thick, which I like, but a little too salty for me. I'd like to come back up to try the mussels, duck or some other entree next time I'm in the area, though I probably wouldn't go out of my way.

We loved everything from the food, chic ambiance to the charm of the place that makes it seem like a special place. The restaurant hearing upon my little one celebrated her fourth birthday last week, whipped up a hand written birthday card welcoming her to the restaurant (pic for reference). The staff was so friendly and patient with my chatty elder one too. Overall, it was a great experience and opened up our Sonoma trip well. Gave us a great impression on the hotel too. Oh, the food. I almost forgot. We had a little bit of everything. But two things I wanted to point out - contrary to what is out there, they DO have a kids' menu and do give you one as a part of their coloring book. Second, the steak was great. Being an aspiring vegetarian, I don't say this too often, but the steak was darn good. Our server made him feel like an adult and waited on him as well. He was very proud of himself - thank you for that touch!

I don't understand why but we asked to move and ended up sitting elsewhere. Food was not good. Steak was practically raw when we asked for medium rare and took a long time to recook. The short rib tasted like airplane food. Had high expectations as we do like his other restaurants. Will not be returning.
