Food, ambiance, and service with their own touch of dear lovely Caribbean/Mediterranean/Puertorrican cuisine. This time I got the octopus-conch salad and it took somewhere else, it was so tender with perfect acidic balance. The nice crisp/warm breeze helped. Popped in here for dinner on a Thursday evening. We were greeted warmly by the owner and the waiter and seated promptly. Place is big and airy with nice views of the harbor - covered outdoor seating. A great venue for young kids. Food was excellent. We had lobster flautas and a corn dish typical of PR both of which were great. Waiter fawned on our four year old and brought her cherries from the kitchen. Nice touch. Mains were a delightful garlicky chicken was was awesome. You must love garlic to get this however...and a skirt steak which was nice and tender. At 14 ounces I had about 4 ounces left for steak and eggs the next morning. Plenty of deserts coffees and after dinner drinks are available too. Portions are big you won't leave hungry. Go check it out! read more

We stumbled across this place due to its proximity to our vrbo. It was our last night in PR so we were hoping for a good dinner. It was excellent! The service was great, my husband said his mojito was the best he'd had all week. Food was amazing ! We went with the waitresses recommendations and they were spot on! I'm not a big sea food person but the crowd I was traveling with was. I just got simple stuff like fries and the burger and it was good for it not being seafood. The mojitos were definitely great and the service was good and courteous. The view was also nice and relaxing after having our boat ride out to flamingo beach. From my travel comrades I heard the mahi mahi was fresh and delicious plus the steak. read more

We came in for Mother's Day. The view is beautiful. We got the fried cheese and guava for the appetizer and it was great. We got a couple of fried fishes, chicken, and MOFONGOS. The fish was fried to perfection. Could've used a little more seasoning, but overall it was great. I LOVED their habichuelas and tostones de pana. Flavorful, crunchy, and good! The atmosphere and location are great. The food, not so much. I had the skirt steak with chimichurri, and they left off the chimichurri. The steak tasted like it had been soaking in salt for days and was almost inedible. The 4 shrimp I added on had no flavor and were charred so badly I could barely consume them. The food took 1 1/2 hours to be served. The good: *My children said their crinkle cut fries were really good *The music and the band were a lot of fun If you want a fun place to grab a drink, then try it out. Overall theme of the evening was that the price was not worth the food. Wait was not as long as expected, though it took the waiter 15 minutes to bring us our water on a semi-busy evening. Rest of service was pleasant. We were there as a group of 5 and ordered 2 apps and 3 entrees between us. Apps: we ordered the fried fish chicharrons and alcapurria with pork belly. The chicharrons were the best part of the dinner, lightly battered and fried with fresh white fish meat, though the dipping sauce was rather bland and heavy. The alcapurria had a lot of elements that didn't quite work together, and the pork belly came in the form of tiny soggy cubes which was not terribly appetizing. Entrees: we ordered a shrimp gumbo, a stuffed plantain canoe with shrimp, cheese and beans, and a conch mofongo with garlic cream sauce. The shrimp gumbo was more of a clear soup than a gumbo. Though it was flavorful, there were only 5 slightly overcooked shrimp and the serving bowl was only half full, certainly not worth $30. The stuffed plantain canoe was not bad, and the addition of cheese to a sweet plantain was an interesting experience, though there were minimal shrimp chunks and otherwise did not taste like much other than sweet plantain. The conch mofongo was the most disappointing part of the dinner. The conch was rubbery and tasteless. The mofongo itself had a nice texture but otherwise was also tasteless. The sauce was water-like in consistency and did not adhere to the dish at all. We did not finish this, despite being starving from an entire day of being outdoors. We paid about $140 for these items which was absolutely too expensive for the quality and quantity of food that we got. Would not recommend, though if you were to come here maybe just stick to the appetizers. read more

I really enjoyed eating at El Yate this evening! I had the Jumbo Shrimp with creole sauce and a side of mamposteao rice. The food was very flavorful and delicious. The waitstaff was on top of things, and we also got to meet the chef. We got desserts as well - chocolate cake and flan to share. The highlight of the desserts was the vanilla ice cream, which was SO GOOD! This is a lovely location with a great view if you are able to eat outside. read more

Wow! Without a doubt the absolute worst meal I've had in Puerto Rico, possibly anywhere. It's Friday night and we wanted fresh fish for dinner and since we've driven past this restaurant at the marina countless times we decided why not, it's called "The Yacht" after all so we expected it to be pretty good. Don't judge a place by the name. It's should be called El Life Raft. The mahi-mahi was way over cooked and rubbery. The snapper had so much salt I couldn't eat it and threw most of it in the trash. Their Mofungo, Puerto Rico's signature dish, had so much garlic that no one could eat more than a few bites. And get this - no wine, no drinks, no appetizers - two entrees cost over $90. If you're reading this and considering going here, there's about a dozen other options in Las Croabas, including a Church's and a BK, that are going to be waaaaaay better. read more

The staff and the atmosphere were the best part about this restaurant. Unfortunately the food is subpar and lacks flavor. I got the shrimp tacos, as I wasn't too hungry, plus that it wasn't fried but they definitely could have used some lime and more flavor. My partner got the chicken dish which she felt was fine, but the rest of our group ordered the pork tenderloin with the sauces which was dry and rubbery for all of them. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The water tasted like the fridge. The appetizers was basically heated frozen food. The shrimp gumbo was 30 yet only had 5 shrimps and literally just water. The conch mofongo was completely tasteless, and the conch tasted like rubber. The plantain boat was the only acceptable dish in this entire restaurant. Please. Don't waste your money. Roadside kiosks cook way better. It is extremely expensive for the poor quality of the food. It is a shame to waste real state on this poor excuse of a restaurant. The only good thing about the place is the pavement of the parking lot. read more

Wow!! Why all the poor reviews of El Yate. This was recommended by a local yet we almost did not go because the reviews were bad. We had a fantastic experience. It was New Year's Eve night and we went for an early dinner at 5:00. We had no wait and got a fantastic table for 4. The service was spot on, we ate dishes from the local Puerto Rican cuisine which is really good. The seafood was all fresh and perfectly prepared. The view is amazing and the prices are in line with the local area. I would go back in a heartbeat. read more

I was very disappointed with the "restaurant". Let me start with all your silverware is different, all your plates as well. For the amount of money you pay in this place service and presentation should be impeccable. Let me start by saying way over there heads with the prices!!! If you're going to charge that high for a skirt steak you better plate it like what I paid for, thought I was in Bonanza or Ponderosa. No side salad with the steak or any of the entrees, or water, warm local bread on the side... you get zerooooo! Also doesn't cater to locals therefore place was empty... flavors aren't there either, mofongo was super dry had to ask for a sauce on the side which should be included without asking any time you serve a mofongo either goes with a Ketchup aioli, or chicken stock! Will not be visiting or spending my hard working money for such a horrible experience! Was so upset didn't take a picture of anything. read more

El Yate was a great experience. The restaurant has a great view that overlooks the marina and we were blown away by how good the food was. The appetizers were excellent and the main courses were even better. Definitely try the drink "The Bushwhacker"! The carrot cake was also a dream.
