El Zacatecano is located in Center village of Copper Mountain ski resort! My friend and I went in the middle of lunch time and we were the only 2 customers in the restaurant. We should've knew right then and there this was probably not going to be great. Because it is in the center of a resort, I knew food prices were high, but definitely not worth it! Food ended up being okay and the service was horrible. We were the only table in the restaurant... and how hard is it to wave down a server just for water refills and to ask for our check.... which by the way, they will not separate your checks or do split checks either. I would've given them 1 star, but their chips and salsa was good, so I'll give them credit for that! Not recommended!

Staff: The staff was super nice and friendly. Food: The food wasn't anything to write home about though. Mediocre at best. The medium salsa is what gives El Zacatecano three stars! Kid friendly: Word to the wise for children with kids.... The beans and rice that came with the kids meals were too spicy for my kiddos and they usually enjoy spicy. Setting: Cozy, warm, and fun music. Bathrooms: They were disgusting with no soap, very unsanitary!

The food was good, noting to rave about. My husbands steak fajitas didn't have much flavor. I preferred the chicken. Portions are large and the prices are very decent. It was super packed on a Sunday. There aren't too many restaurants in Copper. Our server was excellent tho. It's a warm and cozy place. I'd come back.

After skiing all day, El Zacatecano was the answer to all of my group's hunger problems. We were waiting for one of our friends to get out of the clinic after the mountain had closed and we decided to wait with drinks in our hands & full bellies. So we came here and ordered margs & beers and all the food we could handle. FYI if you're looking for a giant Marg, get the large marg - truly humongous and can easily be split between 2 or 3 people (or 1 if you're feeling frisky). The chips and salsa were a great start to curing our hunger - that salsa is so spicy, chunky & delicious! We also ordered guac & queso which were also good. For our main meal, the fajita Burrito was the move. We got it smothered in green Chile and I happily split that with my boyfriend. Others got the quesadilla which also looked delicious. We hung out at this spot for a good while as we were not only waiting for our friend to get out of the clinic, but we were also waiting for traffic to die down. So we appreciate them for not booting us from the restaurant! After our meal, our waiter brought us Mexican dessert: tequila shots on the house! That was a definitely a fun way to end the night. Overall, great experience at El Zacatecano. We'll be back!

Horrible service was food poisoning. I will not be back. Too many other good options in Copper Mountain for me to choose this place.

This place has fresh Mexican food and we found excellent choices for ourselves and our child. We enjoyed the margarita natural.

But- we were driving back through today and I remembered a Mexican restaurant in Frisco, so we stopped in for lunch- great decision! They have some tables outside, but we chose inside seating. We sat down and a server brought over water, chips and 2 different salsas that were very tasty. I ordered a medium size skinny margarita- and it was huge- but also really good and tart- just the way I like them! I ordered a chicken dish and my husband ordered a pork dish- hindsight- we should have split one meal because they were huge!!! Very fresh and delicious, but we couldn't finish them. All of the servers we interacted with were so nice, friendly and very helpful! Everything we ate was very good and it was a fun experience!

We ended with the flan which was big enough for four. The staff very really friendly. Everything was delicious. We can't recommend it enough. It's a very simple place but very clean and right on the main street of Frisco.

The moment we walked in (we were the only people in the restaurant) the staff who looked more annoyed than welcoming. The food was the biggest letdown. Everything tasted bland and rushed, like it had been sitting out too long. Ever experience soggy nachos? Well, this is the place for you. The chicken wings, that apparently are not only deep fried are also baked (as I was told by the server) take about 50 minutes to come out. Steak quesadillas were lukewarm, and frankly all of the food was simply meh. Ever seen brown guacamole? You can see it here. Service was equally frustrating. It took forever just to get someone's attention, and when I did, the attitude felt dismissive, almost like I was inconveniencing them just by asking for basics like water refills. "Can't you see we are short staffed" - buddy, I have worked and owned places that are short staffed but have to ask for water 4 times, hanging another table do the same .... I can go on and on. Frankly, so many better options around that are so much better, also short staffed but friendly and at least make an effort to be friendly. Hope your experience here is better if you are brave enough to waste two hours for crappy food and incredibly sub par service.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. There was plenty of parking right out front, and it's on the main road so lots of other little fun shops around. There are shared bathrooms (between the businesses right around there); they're clean enough. And the food - it's excellent! I had the truffle scramble which is a truffle omelette ($17) with add ins, and comes with a side of hash browns and homemade toast or biscuit (I got the toast). I also ordered some earl grey tea with a side of vanilla syrup/milk (to make a London fog since it wasn't on their menu), and that was so lovely with the breakfast. I was quite full after all that, didn't need another meal until dinner although I ate at like 8:30am. Also the place got pretty full by 9a, a good number of people were on the waitlist and all the tables were full, so it gets busy! It's worth it tbh, I really liked the food and vibe. Would def recommend :)
