pit stop on the way down to the bay. generous portions and really affordable prices for the quantity of food. the guy running it couldn't have been sweeter. and the view around it was gorgeous.

good mexican food in the area! *theyre open here during the WEEKDAYS only!!** gets the job done! i had 2 carnitas tacos and they were pretty tasty! meat was juicy and ingredients seemed freshly made friends got a carne asada quesadilla and said it was a 7/10 and another got the cali burrito but thought there was too much fries in the filling :/ would return to eat at this truck!

Not true...they were not there 3 hours before close.

I have a torn calf muscle so I am limited right now in life...I went here at 3pm on a Saturday and the truck was nowhere to be found...Two picnic tables were there and nothing else....I had to limp in discomfort about 600 'to get there only to find out nobody was there...Yelp states they are open till 6pm and Google which was updated just over a week ago states they are open till 8pm...I also checked their FB page but there was nothing on it about them not being there today...In fact the last update on their FB was May 16...I'm tired of these businesses that could care less about their customers.

Yep! Slammin'Tacos as everyone has said. Saw this on my way Northbound to PNW and now that i was southbound and bored of all the cookie cutter sweet/savory coffee stop snack food, i was ready to give this spot a try having read everyone's reviews. My base test is always a carne asada taco, Ahh man tender perfectly seasoned and cooked beef and so delicious! The carnitas were cooked Juicy and not crispy. Squeeze the lime on everything! Totally gonna be our regular food stop. When you need some real food on your road trip- def stop here in Weed and look for this taco truck -near Starbuck but across from Pilot Gas Station. I'm a So. Cal Girl with SF/Bay Area food standards (pretty high-spoiled with great food) and this will hit the spot for most for sure! Staff was super friendly to boot!

My family drives past Weed on our way to my grandfathers house and we always stop here for gas and food. We usually get food other places but we will now be coming here every time. Service was great and the food was a 10/10. Would definitely recommend! Pictures speak for themselves

This is such good Mexican food! And it's a food truck in Weed, CA The guy working was so nice and the food was hot & fresh. And the VIEW from the picnic benches of Mt Shasta was STUNNING! Don't miss this stop if you are traveling to or from Oregon

Trust your first thought. I'm working in town and had no idea of this place. As I pull up there are no customers around and it's next to a busy truck stop. I wait about 10 min and a truck driver walks by so I asked for an opinion on the place. He approved. Must of been a hungry truck driver. Burrito was room temp at best. The meat I couldn't tell if it was beef or pork. It looked like beef jerkey. It was like eating kernel corn hard and crunchy. Seemed like it was fried and left out for days. For $13 go to taco bell a block away.

Do you ever come to McCloud?

McCloud appears to be located in a quiet part of northern California and requires a detour on Highway 89 to reach it. My wife and I have never driven to this small town, mainly because it is not near Highway 5 and does not offer easy access to… Read more

Tried two other places in downtown Shasta but both were packed and we did not want to wait - glad we did not! La Perla is adjacent to a bar and has an old school vibe. The decor is diner-esque but interesting. They offer self-serve chips, salsa and soft drinks (the latter for a price). Food portions are generous and very tasty, we all loved our food. My partner had a jalapeño margarita which was extraordinary. Cherry on top was our amazing server - she was extremely nice, prompt and accommodating. A pleasure all around. Highly recommended!

We wanted to make reservations for dinner on a Thursday but no one answered the phone. We decided to head over to the restaurant a few minutes before we planned to dine with friends only to discover they weren't open and a hand lettered writing on the door said they were closed Thursdays and Sundays. We did return the next evening, now knowing that they would be open on Friday. The restaurant shares an entryway with a popular bar. It was amusing watching people enter the main door and then turn one way or the other to enter a business, only to realize they want the other door. I saw a few families with little kids start towards the bar and then turn to the restaurant. Groups in motorcycle jackets did the reverse. A signboard at the entrance to the restaurant invites customers to choose a table and then help themselves to chips and salsa. My husband and I split an entrée and it was more then enough for the both of us. Portion sizes are generous. The food was very good. Much better than Casa Ramos or Puerto Vallarta. If you want Mexican food in Mount Shasta, stay away from those chains and go to La Perla for a much better meal at reasonable prices to boot. We enjoyed the background music, with songs from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Paul Simon, The Proclaimers.
