Went their 11/7/21 ive never been to their truck before, but I do I have to say that their food was amazing me and my wife loved their asada and carnitas burrito. Omg yesss! I'm so happy my fiancé and I found this place! We're from the Pittsburg/ Antioch area and we are out here visiting family and to enjoy the eclipse. Well we were craving taco truck hoping to find something like the trucks back home and our family told us about this place and I am so glad they did! We only had a couple of complaints ... my fiancé ordered the burrito with no salsa and there was salsa in it and the cheese on the nachos was like nacho cheese dip. We figured we're just not use to our nachos having cheese like that lol but it was still good! And about the burrito it was like 20 mins till closing so I'm sure they were tired so the salsa mistake was fine with us. Plus the customer service was awesome they were soooo nice that's why we stuck with 5 starts and we stand by it. We definitely recommend this place! read more

We stopped here on our way through town on a road trip. Unfortunately we didn't care for anything we ordered. I ordered fish tacos (probably my mistake this far inland) and they tasted like old fish and were more breading than fish. Their salsa tasted more like marinara sauce than I would like and the guacamole somehow tasted like water. My husband's carne asada burrito was "below average" and contained lettuce (not cabbage, lettuce), which we view as a cardinal sin in burrito land. The kids both got just beans and rice and both said they had good flavor but the beans were not quite soft enough. All in all, not a success. read more

I found this taco truck when I was in Mt. Shasta, and seeing as how it was one of the only places nearby that go over 4 stars, I had to check it out. When I got there, I was immediately impressed by the hilarious view: on the one hand you have Mt. Shasta in the background, and when I was there it was spectacular, with the evening light on it; and on the other hand, you have a bustling truck stop. In the middle sits El Zaguan, which is fairly funky-looking (a good sign to me). My party ordered burritos, and I wish we had been more adventurous, but in any case we weren't disappointed! The steak was really cooked al carbon, and dang was it good! Amazing flavor! I got a carnitas burrito, which was also off the proverbial hook. I asked for hot salsa, and I think I might have gone for medium, because it was impressively hot (I like it hot), but that's fine. The pork had a few very large pieces of fat, but that's ok too. It was super tasty, after all! Why not 5 stars? Well there's always room for improvement, and here's what I think could be improved: 1. Make a menu. It doesn't need to be fancy, but I like to see how much stuff costs, and what the options really are. To be fair, they do have what they make painted on the side of the truck. Maybe it's more legit this way.... 2. Move the picnic table to the front of the truck, away from the generator! I mean come on, this is just silly. They have this amazing view, and they have a picnic table, so why does it have to be right next to their running generator?! Sheesh. 3. Maybe get rid of the styrofoam? I realize that this is pretty par for the course, but still, it would be nice. 4. Include some chips with the order...and some salsa and some lime. Beyond that, this place is the place to be! We were driving back from Portland to California and stopped at this taco truck. It was the best tacos we've in a long time. The meat was high quality and so were all the other ingredients. The workers were very friendly and this was a great stop to eat on our 10 hour drive back to the Central Valley in California. I would highly recommend it! Just make sure you have cash! read more

A quesadilla with super smokey fajita veggies, really nice hot salsa, and toasty tortillas. It's parked in a lot next to the Grocery Outlet right off the 5, between a bunch of truck stops. We were hungry as we approached Weed, California and looked online for a Mexican restaurant. El Zaguan was described as a food trailer, and we decided to take a chance on it. We were not disappointed! There is not much of an eating area (two picnic tables), but the excellent quality and large quantity of food offered by this humble establishment surprised us in a great way. I ordered a King Burrito and could only get through half of it, even though the steak was tender and flavorful and the other ingredients fit together perfectly. We also ordered their three fish taco plate; they use two soft taco shells to hold the large and perfectly prepared fish portions. In all fairness, we experienced two problems. First, they only have canned soda that was not particularly cold, so we will bring our own drinks during our next visit. Also, Google Maps actually took us to a local RV park instead of this restaurant's location. Fortunately, the workers at the RV park were used to this and provided us with accurate directions to get us to where we wanted to go. So, if you want a unique experience during a long trip on Highway 5, ask a Weed local about this food trailer. It is worth the effort. read more

Almost missed the taco truck on our way through Weed! Glad we found it - it's on the right side of the street and not left per Waze (just past the market parking lot). Definitely as good as you can get in Los Angeles. We had various items with Asada, Shrimp and Chicken. Each was quite tasty. The cooks are not wearing masks but they maintained distance and most customers had face masks on. We would come here again next time we drive through Weed! read more
