This little speakeasy is super cool. My daughter and I had a great meal here! It's seat yourself and an early or late lunch is recommended because it packs out! My daughter got the grilled chicken sandwich and she says it was by far the best grilled chicken she's ever had! I got the beet and goat cheese salad. Soooo good. Located just behind the steel cooler door of Muss & Turner's, this posh bar serves up some of the tastiest cocktails in the area. Once inside, you'll find a semi dark hallway that soon uncovers to an intimate scene with low-key vibes. Depending on the season or maybe spontaneity, you'll find that Eleanor's rotates their sophisticated cocktail menu to something new and different. I've been here on multiple occasions both during a weekday but mainly on weekends, and Eleanor's never disappoints. The drinks are as equally strong as they are tasty! Service at the table and at the bar have always been top notch! Personally, I prefer sitting at the bar though just because I love observing bartenders shaking up cocktails. However, if you're into a more cozy type feel, I'd suggest sitting at one of the booths. The only drawbacks I have are the cocktail prices and the crowdedness. Even though the cocktails are outstanding, the prices are a little on the expensive side. Four cocktails for my boyfriend and I typically runs up to a little over $50 excluding gratuity. This was a fun little find. We snuck into the freezer just to see what we could find. It's a nice little speakeasy with little to no seating. We stood in the middle of the room and we're quickly helped by a waitress walking around. She was quick to get us a couple drinks, which we really enjoyed, but that's all we stuck around for. Walk in the front door take a right and look for a large stainless steel freezer door on your left. Muster all your courage and walk right through! You'll find yourself in a dimly lit hallway, keep going and find your way to the back! Candlelit and cozy, with a bar and a few tables. The best way to describe Eleanor's is a proper cocktail bar / gastropub. The bartenders know their craft, and the menu is seasonal and all very well executed. I think they have the best fries in Atlanta, let me know if you've had better. They make their own pickles as well, so you have a choice to make there.... In the back of Muss & Turner's, Eleanor's has a great, exclusive ambiance and is a perfect little spot for a drink with a friend or a romantic date night. Such a cute speakeasy vibe! You have to enter in through a hidden door. The hidden door looks like a walk in freezer. Pull it open and TA-DA! Beautiful, dark, and quaint. The entire experience was really cool and felt like secret! The drinks were really delicious and creative. I ordered a (few) of the grow a pear and one of the cucumber vodka drinks. Both were on point. My friend requested a bourbon drink and let the bartender get creative, he really wowed her with a awesome drink! Had been eager to come to Eleanor's for a few months, and I was pleasantly satisfied with my experience. My parents came in from out of town, so I was able to see their surprise when we started walking through the cooler door. The fries with the garlic mud dipping sauce was delicious, and The Burger was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth fantastic and cooked to perfection. Juicy, with poblano peppers to add a crunch and aioli that added a hint of spice. This is an interesting little bar. It is located in the back of Mass and Turner in Smyrna. You literally walk through an area called "the freezer" (not too cold) to get to the bar in a secluded area. I recommend this as a date spot since it's certainly not built for large groups. We were a group of 13 people so we drank one drink and began bar hopping afterwards. The drink I chose was called the "Sleepy Hollow. It consisted of Pumpkin Spirit, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Vodka. It tasted fantastic but was very small for the price of $11.00. So the previous reviewers were the worst kind of people and their review should be completely disregarded. I had the unfortunate experience of sitting next to them. Those disgusting land monsters complained about everything and, as you can see, thought it was acceptable behavior to wave their glasses in the bartender's face for refills (and it had been completely packed in the place). Disgusting people. If you're bellied up at the bar drinking for four hours and you demand more by shaking your glass at the bartender perhaps you should be less concerned about a refill and more concerned about seeking treatment. The staff was awesome. Whether or not they may have been enjoying their night before their Thanksgiving holiday doesn't bother me at all (note that it was also one of the bartender's last shifts). I never felt as though anyone was inattentive. I'm thankful for industry staff, especially on the eve of major holidays. Thank you for being there for us throughout the year! Take a load off. Y'all work so hard to keep us happy. That said, I've never had a bad time at this place. Awesome people, great food, good times. Some people will just never be happy. Quietly nestled in the back of Muss & Turner's, this speakeasy just OTP is a great place for after-dinner drinks, snacks, and desserts. Their cocktails are delicious and their bartenders know what's up. They do a fantastic job. I had a few different drinks and all of them were delicious. It does get a little crowded as the night wears on - typically more crowded on the weekends. But it's not unbearable. Otherwise, the atmosphere is quite chill Only downside is that it closes so early - typical for OTP spots. So glad we finally learned about the freezer door. Thank you Yelp since I had been to M+T for lunch before and would never have known of the cozy fun place behind it. We met a friend from out of town who got there first and thought we were joking, but she courageously entered and loved the venue as much as we did. It probably helped that she has a daughter named Eleanor, although I think it'd be hard not to love the vibe in here regardless. Plenty of drink choices--my wife loved her Malbec--and lots of local craft brews in can/bottle, on tap. The duck rolls were excellent, crispy and flavorful, and the Georgia peach salad had tons of Brie in addition to nuts and fruit. The menu is Muss & Turners, so it's even better than a speakeasy that only has drinks; it would take a while to run through the selections before getting bored with your choices. Wednesday night was slower and made it even more enjoyable for conversation. The only sad part was having to leave since we closed the place down (10:30 on school nights, kids). Best Brunch Food I've ever had! The chicken and waffle - excellent! The French fries with trio of dipping sauces - superb! The atmosphere is very speakeasy vibe - dark and moody - perfect if you're nursing a hangover or want to feel more intimidate with a partner on a second or third date - don't really recommend for a first date because it's so dark in there you may not get a good look of each other - but if you're hiding a pimple or neck rash - maybe you do want to go for that first date! Great spot where I brought my fiancée to for her birthday on a recommendation from a coworker. The drinks we a bit pricey but worth it according to the birthday girl. I got the chicken sandwich and it was too salty. I enjoyed her duck gumbo much better. The portion was enough for two! We also got the cheese board which was ok. I've enjoyed all the cocktails - they do an amazing job mixing up some great drinks for sipping. But if you enjoy your drinks, you will really enjoy the food items. I love that they offer Charcuterie - a great accompaniment to cocktails - who doesn't love varieties of meat? And with that, you might as well get an assortment of cheese as well. Great local selections are available. One of my favorite snacks was the chicarrones - perfectly fried pork skins went perfectly with my bourbon cocktail. I love the little tables, dimly lit by candlelight, dark wood all around - a great vintage feel. You feel like you are hiding out during prohibition, hiding from the 5-0. This was my favorite dining experience in a really long time. Yes, the food is delicious and the beer selection is very well done. But there's nothing like surprising your dining companions by marching past the hostess stand, answering their questions with, "We're not eating in here," corralling them into the walk-in freezer, and watching their surprise as it becomes a wine cellar and finally a secret and cozy lounge. Makes you feel special. Even as you are leaving, you find yourself hoping someone in M&T's who isn't "in the know" will stare at you funny. We arrived for a late lunch. The "The Burger" was very good, and my bride's Springer Mtn Chicken had her smiling all evening. The prices originally had her worried, but I had planned for it, and she agreed later that the sandwiches were all worth the cost. Our daughter, in from out of town for the weekend, was so pleased with the "Insult to Philly" Sandwich that she shared a bite with me (it was good), debated all of a minute about saving half for later, and finishing it off. We shared a basket of the fries, and they were as good as the best that we've had anywhere.
