My upper lip is pretty much all cleared with hardly any regrowth, my eyebrows are nicer than before I started my electrolysis journey, and more. I did myself a favor, and got my ear hair removed for life. Now I get my hair cut when my hair needs cutting not when my ear hair is making me look old. Trust me--you will not find a more skilled, swift, and gentle electrologist with a more lovely personality than Manaz. I have seen her six times now for eyebrow electrology, and each session has delivered me wonderful results with minimal pain/discomfort. (And in terms of pain, not all electrologists are equal! The two sessions I had elsewhere before discovering Manaz were a world of discomfort compared to Manaz.) Not only is she good at removing hair effectively and efficiently, but she also has a keen eye for *shaping* your brows in a flattering way, thanks to her past experience with eyebrow permanent makeup, while also accommodating your own preferences for thickness + shape. She's very cautious/conservative with the hair removal too, not taking off too much at once, which I think we can all appreciate, given the permanent nature of electrology. On top of that, she is just the sweetest person! Electrology is a slow process that requires multiple sessions, and it really helps the process if you enjoy the company of your electrologist, whom you will likely be spending several cumulative hours with. I've used hair waxers previously who've made what can already be a fairly sensitive subject/treatment all the more awkward, yet Manaz has always made me feel very comfortable (and on top of that, it's permanent!). She is great about explaining the process of electrolysis to me and answers any questions I have about it. She uses a numbing cream before she begins and a cooling tool afterwards, making the process pretty painless. Manaz is one of the sweetest women you will ever meet and I thank God that I was introduced to her talents through a friend (who is also a happy client). She's truly a hair-removal goddess! I've been seeing her over the past several months for electrolysis treatments and have been so happy with the affects. Over time, with her treatments, my hair growth has lessened and the remaining hair has softened ... the only downside of the treatments is that she does such an excellent job that my time between treatments keeps getting longer and longer ... meaning I don't get to see her as much as I did when I first started treatments! I'd tried laser hair removal in the past, but I'm one of the unlucky gals for whom it increased my peach-fuzz growth without providing the desired results. My trouble spot is my face and Manaz is absolutely gentle (and uses a fabulous topical numbing lotion), but gets the job done. As a newbie to the procedure, and a bit of a wimp, I was concerned that electrolysis would max out my pain threshold ... I was happily surprised that at least for me, it hasn't hurt a bit. I've been really impressed with Manaz's appointment availability and flexibility, her studio (which is bright and cheery), and her prices (which are very, very reasonable). Parking is available onsite and Manaz provides validation. I highly recommend her! *** August 2013 Update *** I wanted to update to add that for the past several years I've also been a permanent make-up client. Manaz transformed my eyebrows from nothing to true, face-framing works of art. Fertility treatments and genetics had made my brows super sparse ... so much so that I felt I had to fill them in even before going to the gym. Sans make-up still meant doing my brows. The natural look that she gave my brows has given me so much freedom -- I feel like I can throw on sunscreen and mascara and still look put together now. Manaz is truly a perfectionist and even when I thought they looked great after the initial ink, she continued to make tweaks that took them from amazing to a-maaaaaaay-zing! To be honest, I was nervous about something so permanent on my face, but Manaz's perfectionism and attention to detail the first time I had my brows done have put me at ease. I've been back several times for touch-ups -- because like any tattoo the color will change a bit over time -- and each time she is just as wonderful as the last visit. The pain threshold for the permanent make-up, for me, is a little higher than the electrolysis, but after the initial touch of the pen it was fine. Ok boys and girls, let's face it: Many of us have some extra hair in places we just don't love. It's too tiring to deal with shaving, waxing, and plucking. I'm Middle Eastern so my hair roots are Herculean. And the more you shave...well, the more you shave! I decided to commit to electrolysis to really deal with this issue. I did my research and met with several electrologists around town. Without a doubt, Manaz is the best! She is extremely professional, clean, smart and strategic about tackling that hair. She takes this work seriously because she knows how having unwanted hair can affect someone's day. She'll be realistic about your needs so you never have to worry about not having a plan. She explains the hair growth cycle and encourages you to put the tweezers away. Trust her! On top of being great at her job, she's funny and friendly and always makes her clients feel truly comfortable. Her prices are very reasonable. Her salon space is bright, airy and has lovely plants that put you in a relaxed mood. Parking is easy, too: find street meters during the day, or side streets on evenings/weekends or you can always park in the attached structure for which she validates!!
