Mahnaz is the best. I really appreciate how gentle she is with my skin. Manaz is terrific! I found her on Yelp as well--I had chin hair as a result of growing up, waxing, tweezing, and shaving, and wanted them gone for good. I had a consultation with her (it's free!) and she said the process would take about a year or so. I was really scared for my first treatment but it went super well! It helps to put some numbing cream on before the treatment (she also provides some) and some ibuprofen to reduce the pain. I've got low pain tolerance but the process only feels like a brief stinging, so it's tolerable. I've been going to get my electrolysis done by her for the past six months and there's a noticeable reduction in hair--it's been growing back thinner and finer, which is good progress! With another few months' work they'll be gone permanently. Manaz is really nice and talks to you throughout the process to help you feel more comfortable--there's also music playing in the background. She charges you very fairly and sends you reminders about your appointments, and is willing to reschedule as long as you give enough notice. I went in to see Manaz today for electrolysis. I was originally seeing another woman who worked out of her home, but her house was pretty far from me and she only set up appointments via email (which I rarely use, so it was a bit inconvenient). I decided I needed someone closer, and Manaz came up in my search on Yelp. Manaz works in a salon called Salon Republic, in which seemingly every kind of beautician exists in their own room. I was led by the friendly receptionist to Manaz. Her room was very clean, with white walls, wooden ceilings, and a single palm tree in the corner. She warmly welcomed me and asked if I had any questions. Since I already knew about electrolysis from my previous electrologist, I politely declined and lay down. Manaz graciously asked if I would like numbing cream, and I agreed. It helped a lot compared to my prior electrolysis experiences, although I noticed the procedure itself seemed to be more painful. Manaz explained this was due to the fact she uses the "blend" method of electrolysis, which combines electrolysis and thermology for the most efficient result that will take less time than traditional electrolysis. She made friendly conversation with me as she zapped away my hairs. She's honestly such a sweet lady and seems very skilled in her field. I already am sure I made the right choice transitioning. After the session, she cooled down my heated skin with a cream she said would close my pores and reduce redness. I was pretty swollen, but the swelling down went down fairly quickly and my skin is already back to normal. Overall, I'm very impressed with Manaz and her skills in electrolysis. Mahnaz is the sweetest person ever and makes you feel welcome. Not only that, she does an amazing job. I used to get hair growth from my other electrolysist within a few weeks. I haven't gone back to Mahnaz in months because I have not had any growth. I then waxed my face monthly to take care of the problem. I was tired of waxing and wanted a permanent solution. Electrolysis by Manaz has provided me with fantastic results! Before I went to Manaz, I would wax and thread my upper lip. But both methods caused me to break out tremendously, and the amount of hair would continue to increase, darken, and thicken. Where do I begin?! I went to an electrolysis prior to seeing Manaz and boy am I glad I made the change! The electrolysis before would miss my finer blonde hairs, and Manaz sees EVERYTHING! She has a unique and lovey way of relaxing you by the manner in how she speaks and tells stories.
