They may ask if you would like additional services but they won't harass you about it. They give you an opportunity to check their handiwork and they are topnotch when it comes to cleanliness and hygiene. The shop also has a frequent user card that is a bonus. They offer hair removal services, facials, lashes and henna. I usually stick to the hair removal services and I'm satisfied. The location is small, clean and open pretty late. The staff is efficient, welcoming and thorough.

She has a calmness, a serenity about her that is palpable and infectious. I calmed down immediately when she walked into the room. We talked, about kids, about life, about our daughters, as she worked, and guess what? Tammy waxed me without hurting me. I hate doing my brows and mustache because my skin is so sensitive. So by the time I made it to Manisha, my brows were as far from fleeky as possible and my mustache was silky and gleaming in the moonlight #hawt Manisha was so gently while sorting out my fur, there was no irritation from the wax or threading. My unmanageable brows were tamed. She was even able to make generally unruly and sparse brows look full without even tinting them!!! She's a pro and knows exactly what she's doing. I got an awesome groupon here ($15 for 5 sessions; gosh, I really should've went for the 10…read moresessions one ...) and I have very ambiguous feelings about the upcoming end. It's great to come in, get my eyebrows threaded, and feel like the tip that I pay upon leaving is how much I actually paid. Even so, $3 + $2 leaves me with a measly $5 operation after which I feel like I am much more presentable to the world. After all, I have a really bad habit of not coming to get my eyebrows threaded until they're in a bad shape; they always have to reshape when I come :x It's recommended that you get your eyebrows threaded every 2 weeks so that there isn't as much pain. (I guess the pain comes from the shaping, rather than the trimming). Five minutes of agony and sometimes tears - girls, don't wear non-waterproof mascara or eyeliner if you plan on being seen in public afterwards - but it's totally worth it. The minutes are gone before you know it, and the soothing mini-massage of the brows with the aloe gel help tremendously. Both Manisha and Maggie are very nice, and they can be talkative if you want or silent while you concentrate on bearing out the pain. I tend towards the latter. :x For those who were not able to get the groupon, they do have a $5 threading early morning special from 10-11am! :) Everything else is pretty reasonably priced as well. The only con is that this is kind of out of the way for me, especially now that I go to school in Washington Heights; although I really like this place, I'm not thaaat willing to trek this far. There isn't really much around in this neighborhood, and I don't feel entirely safe walking around when it gets dark. You actually have to ring a bell before you can get buzzed in, which is a reasonable safety precaution, but ... yeah, that makes me feel uneasy. Overall, Eyebrows Threading Spa is very neat, well-kept, comfortable, and relatively painless. The whole experience is smooth, and the clean, tasteful interior is definitely NOT what you'd expect from the surrounding area during the trek to and from the nearby subway stations. Do not be alarmed by the area, either; it's not actually unsafe. I think. :)
