Our house was built in the 20's. It had seen many remodels and add ons which left the house with an almost unusable kitchen, flow problems, and odd exposed beams. We really needed design help. Laurent remodeled our kitchen, a bathroom, and utility room. He re-floored and re-mudded our living room/dining area and hall. Basically he redid 1/2 of our house. Now, we have fantastic flow, and the kitchen is actually a fun place to be and cook. His design maximized flow, beauty, and storage. We could not be happier. I initially sought out contractors to redo my floors & carpeting, re painting my new home's interior, and some touch-up work in the kitchen. Laurent was just me of the contractors I approached, based off a referral from family. He was quite attentive and punctual, showed up at my home and took measurements quickly and efficiently. Right from the start, I could see the wheels turning regarding how he would transform my home, with a special eye to the kitchen. At the Emodeling showroom, both Laurent and Nadia took my thoughts and input on the basic design I wanted, and offered many elegant complements to my ideas to make the final product pop! They assisted with color selection, adjusting hues slightly from my chosen base colors, and helped me pick cabinetry and floor styles that would gel with everything else. Laurent even added on a few extra work items I wanted that were not included in his quote at no charge; his one caveat was that I had to supply the materials for those extra tasks myself, but he would handle the labor. Couldn't be happier! Like any construction/remodel job, there were a few hiccups that added to cost (i.e. unexpected plumbing retrofits from the previous owner, contractors accidentally damaging wires), but nothing that couldn't be overcome. Laurent is an artist first and foremost, and wants to deliver a quality job. Existing issues were handled at cost, issues the subcontractors caused were remedied by Laurent in short order. Most impressive to me, Laurent and team finished the entire remodel job one day before his scheduled completion, despite the hiccups and my additional requests. Would hire again! Laurent and crews were pleasant, on time, and reliable. Job completed in 6 weeks as promised February 2019. Had water damage that started on second floor master bath effect the following upstairs; master bedroom/bath, second floor hallway and loft; downstairs: bathroom, 2nd bedroom, livingroom and front door entry way. We had plumbing, electrical, flooring, painters, roofing and cabinetry work done. We had carpet through out house and decided to upgrade floors and paint throughout entire house including staitcase, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and kitchen. Love my new floors and baseboard moulding. We had new 2 cabinets with sinks installed in 2 restrooms, 3 new toilets overall. Along with some tile work in a shower and plumbing to install new shower fixtures. Cabinetry was installed in a bedroom and hallway. Since we decided to upgrade our kitchen along with the rest of the house we had new cabinets installed there. Laurent did a lovely job of designing our kitchen and customizing our wrap around bench according to our needs. Needless to say a great job was done installing new appliances after having reconfigured our kitchen and taking down a wall to expand kitchen. Tons of dry wall went up. Interior paint throughout 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, hallways, kitchen and living room... job was well done. All interior doors painted and front door entryway resized and installed. Lighting was updated throughout house in every room and hallway as well. Not an easy task considering I have 25 foot cathedral ceilings in livingroom. Extremely pleased with the work done and Laurent's attention to detail. He did an excellent job in answering questions, listening, and keeping me informed. Forgot to mention he also repaired a minor roof leak and was able to reseal our roof and identify the source of a second leak indoors and repair that as well. I will eventually post before/after photos, but for anyone undecided, feeling unsure or choosing between contractors for a job (big or small), please stop stressing and just call Laurent. Rather than write a long detailed description of the job, I will just tell you that we added a bathroom and a walk-in closet upstairs and it's awesome! His pricing was fair, the work was done quickly, with quality beyond our expectations. Also really important note -- everyone he brought into our home (demo people, framers, painters, plumber, tile guy, etc) were personable, considerate of our home, nice to our animals and great at their jobs. We could not be happier with the end result. Basically, Laurent did a job that we talked to a few other companies about, but those others either wanted way too much money or tried to talk us into something different than our vision. Laurent will work WITH you. He will listen to you and you will get what you want. If you need him to guide you stylistically, he will. If you know exactly what you want, he will find a way to make that happen, too. Just trust the process. He knows what he's doing. OVERALL Laurent and Nadia are honest and communicates very well. It was very evident that they have done many remodels. Out of the 3 or so quotes that we received from contractors, they came in about middle. I would 100% recommend them. I wrote this over a year after the remodel. WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT They have a physical showroom that you can see the materials that you can choose from. This reduces the risks of misunderstandings on materials and makes the overall experience much more efficient. There is an additional comfort level that there is a physical for you to go visit if there are any issues. The second difference is that Laurent is great about communicating and being responsive. During the remodel we communicated primarily through text messages and phone calls if necessary, which was very convenient for us. Examples included when we were at Home Depot later at night and were asking him about what types of paint/fixtures/etc. There was an issue that we discovered about a year after the work was done. The AC/Heat pipe in the crawlspace under our house was broken (in two spots wide enough to give additional access, so the pipe did not break on its own). We didn't realize this until a year later, because we didn't use the heater or AC for that duration. I sent pictures and said that no one else has been under the house since the remodel. After an initial few texts back and forth, Laurent sent his general contractor out to fix it. For me, this spoke volumes about the honesty of the company and how they stand by their overall work (including the sub contractors). OUR HOUSE/WHAT WE NEEDED DONE Our house was built in the 1950s, so we had knob and tube wiring, rotting floors/walls, and the normal surprises that you would expect. We needed to completely remodel two smallish bathrooms. Bathroom #1 included a bathtub and the Bathroom #2 was a shower only. For Bathroom #2, we wanted the shower to have a nice hotel feel. QUOTE/BUDGET The quote excludes items like bathtubs, toilets, and fixtures. The items that are included are ceiling lights, vanity, sink, vents, tiles, and glass -- all are of good quality. All the contractors that we received bids from excluded things like fixtures because they are of highly personal tastes and budgets. We ended up selecting Emodeling because we felt they were provided the lowest risk of things going bad with the remodel in quality and costs. Because of Emodeling's showroom we knew pretty close to what we were getting vs. other contractors just showed us pictures of what they have done previously only. We ended up going over budget, primarily due to the surprises we found after we opened the walls, floors, and ceiling. They had to replace the rotting wood floor foundation, redo some old wiring, and we did a change order to create small linen closet. WORKERS/CONTRACTORS Their direct people that only/mostly works for them are the general contractor - who does the carpentry and other miscellaneous and the tile guys. The direct folks are very good and they are pristine about set-up and clean-up after each day. They use subcontractors for wet mop, electrical, plumbing, glass, painting, and few others. Laurent has pricing and quality leverage over the subcontractors because of the volume of business that he gives to them. Painters were the only ones that I thought were sub par (they didn't clean up well and work was inconsistent). Your mileage may vary. As always you can work through Laurent to clear up any minor issues that come. RECOMMENDATIONS First step is for you to get an idea of what you want done (agreed with your spouse if applicable). Go to showrooms, tile stores, home depot, internet research, and take/save photos of what you want. One of the reasons we liked working with this company was that their showroom helped us narrow down what we wanted to what was included in the quote. If possible, do one bathroom at a time. Due to the fact that we needed a working bathroom at all times, we ended up doing Bathroom #2 first. We learned a lot from that experience and ended up changing the tiles, height of the sink, and toilet. Some of the things we learned was that the new standard sink height was too high for us and the toilet that we selected would be too high. Buy your fixtures, vanity lights, medicine cabinets, toilets, bathtubs, and have them on hand for the contractors. This way can verify/directly measure the items before they start their specific part of the work. This will avoid frustrations on both the contractor (redo work) and customer (additional cost) side. We did this and it worked out great. Be available to answer questions. Be there as much as possible. Sometimes the information doesn't flow completely to the subcontractors/specialists. CLOSING We highly recommend Emodeling. We will include them in any future kitchen/bathroom remodel and will consider them for other remodeling needs because we trust them. read more

Posting on the behalf of my father: Our house was built in early fifty a typical 3 bedroom & 1 and 1/2 bath single residence home in Arcadia. After renting it out for 13 years, we decided to do a complete renovation and moved back. Since our plan is to use the original structure without addition but make it like a new house, the project was not just a kitchen and bath remodel. We intended to gut out the old interior, add poles, and a beam to make an open and modern living room/kitchen, upgrade electrical panel, rewire the entire house, install lightings to code, re-pipe water, sewer and gas lines, put in new hardwood floor, add insulations, replace windows, reroof, etc. We started searching for contractors in mid-2017 and interviewed many, most of them fell short of our expectations. Laurent is one of the hardest working people I've every met. He will treat you like you are the number one priority in his life. If you are shopping for estimates from different contractors, stop wasting your time. The biggest regret I have is not finding Laurent sooner and signing a contract with him sooner. After wasting a month and a half, dealing with mold remediation, difficult insurance adjusters and a flakey contractor, I realized I was getting nowhere. I fired my original contractor not only because he didn't get anything done, his estimate was insanely high. After looking at yelp reviews, I stumbled upon Emodeling Kitchens because they happened to be open on a Saturday evening. I visited and Laurent came up with an estimate for my kitchen in 5 minutes while I was there. All other contractors that I had talked to took days, some took weeks! Laurent gave me an incredible deal considering the quality of materials. Other kitchen remodelers that had given me slightly cheaper quotes were going to provide low quality MDF cabinets. Other companies that gave me much higher quotes said it would take several months to build the cabinets. Laurent gave me durable wood cabinets and he had them ready for me in days. My wife and I had been procrastinating for months to add a backsplash to our kitchen. Not convinced with the samples I bought online, I finally took a chance at a store we passed by during our many drives around town. My wife and I started to interview contractors to redo our kitchen during fall 2018. After talking to 3-4 contractors, we felt Laurent and Nadia are sincere and knowledgeable with their craft. I feel very conflicted about this review. On one hand, I would love to give L & N 5* for the final product, but as with most home projects, the process is at least half of the experience. I am writing this about 2 years after they redid our kitchen. It was a complete overhaul of the room. We closed 1 wall to make a separate laundry area, opened a wall to the living area, moved the sink and stove, closed a window and resized a window, and added recessed lighting (much appreciation to their GC John). We love our kitchen now. Why the 3*? The remodel took about a month longer then they originally stated. The crew left huge piles of trash in our yard the whole time. Laurent would tell us "no problem, no problem it will be just how you want it" and then stated that what we had talked about was not in the contract so it would cost extra. This included an up charge for the quartz we wanted (which we ended up not doing), the backsplash we wanted ($18/sq ft extra I believe), an up charge for a soap dispenser hole which he had said was covered, but was not in the contract, and an up charge for new washer/dryer hookups which they just installed and then billed us for. The recessed lights still flicker even though he sent his electrician out about 6 times to try and figure out what he did wrong. Their communication was spotty at best. TLDR: Poor communication and mild dishonesty make it hard for me to recommend Emodeling despite loving the end result. read more

Recently called to get an estimate at my parents property after a flood due to plumbing problems totaled 4 rooms of their house from water damage. A complete bathroom was needed, in addition to master bedroom walls and floor repaired, guest bedroom and complete family room drywall, paint etc. Made an appointment with Laurent who promptly arrived at the time he said he would be there. He spent 30 minutes measuring and writing notes, then said he would call the next day with numbers and have a written estimate to me 2 days later. Did you hear from him, cause I never did! Cannot say enough good things about Laurent and Nadia, and their work crews. The entire kitchen remodel was complete in less than 7 weeks, even though WE made a plan change part way through the construction. Demolition took about 2 days and the rest was amazing! Laurent was so responsive to our needs, and returned calls or texts always within a couple hours. His crews are very professional, friendly, and courteous. 5 stars. Excellent contractor and subcontractors provide exceptional quality. Laurent hires drywallers to do drywall, tile guys to do tile, granite/marble guys to do stonework, painters to do painting. Most shops have couple guys to do everything resulting in lower quality. Laurent and his wife are friendly, provide great service and provide very reasonable pricing. Plus, they have a very, very high level of taste and design solutions. I must start by saying I LOVE the kitchen renovation that Emodeling Kitchen and Bath did in my home. I was in need of a complete kitchen renovation and wasn't really sure what I wanted.. Do not use use this company!!! Something will definitely be wrong at the end!! They have no problem finding a reason to come back and ask for more money above the quote they give you after their contractor messed up!!!!! I have read the reviews and can't believe them. My TP holder is literally in our lap and they charged me a thousand dollars above our agreed price, because John took out a wall he wasn't supposed to. needless to say i absolutely am warning you to not use them!!!!! We recently had some work done in our kitchen and one of the bathrooms by Emodeling. It was quick and easy to set up an appointment, and Laurent came to our house to see what we wanted. He listened to our ideas, and made a few suggestions which were frankly much better than the ideas we had thought of on our own. We made a follow-up visit to his shop to review the details and pick out materials. Work commenced quickly and was done in just a few days.
