Not sure why this has 4 stars as the therapist try to robbed you by adamantly asking for $20 tip with half way done massage.

I have been seeing Anna for over 2 years. She is amazing. The massage is always so good. I like a more painful and deep tissue massage but she can adjust pressure as needed. It is like she can tell when I go in what parts of my body are sore and tense. After the massage is over I feel so much more flexible and relaxed for days. I also had Linda one time and she was very good as well. The price is reasonable which allows me to go more often. read more

Rude !! I would not give them any stars. Did NOT do the package paid for, claimed she forgot to provide service according to the package. Said she did not know English and did not understand what I was saying. She stood with her hands in a praying position for a tip. It was NOT a massage! I have been to numerous massage businesses over the years but I have never had soo much pain during and after a massage (three days). I was looking for a new place to get a good massage at a reasonable price. The former massage business I was going to changed ownership, prices and sadly-quality. This place is clean and the pricing was very reasonable. I paid for a 65 minute massage. Linda was my MT and I told her where I had problem areas. She began to work my shoulders, neck and back. I told her NUMEROUS times to back off the pressure because it was painful. She kept ignoring my requests and continued to use her elbow to "dig" in. Most MTs I have had in the past always ask if the pressure is okay, not Linda. I understand there is some discomfort working out knots, but I should not feel like I just went a few rounds with cage fighter Conor McGregor (and lost). I was looking forward to the foot massage part of the session. The first few seconds were great. After that, it was back to Conor McGregor. Once I peeled myself off the ceiling, I finally taped out of my session. I will not go back and get in the ring with Linda again. read more

Used to love this place. Been going there for years. But ... they now have a sign up indicating that a 40% tip is suggested. The masseuses point to it. I always tip 20%. If management needs to raise prices to pay their folks a decent wage, fine. But don't underpay your people and start changing norms. My friends and I will not return under these terms. read more

Another spot for a good and CHEAP massage!! A long time friend of mine suggested this place when I said I wanted a massage. It's a hidden gem in the Rancho Bernardo neighborhood of San Diego. It's in a strip mall with a good amount of parking. Check in at the front desk and they have you fill out a form. You wait a minute or two until they call you and take you to your room. Do the usual undress, get on the table and wait for your masseuse to knock and do his or her thing. The lady I had was pretty damn good! She felt my knots, and was gentle but used enough pressure to get them out. My trouble spots were nice and loose when she was done. The room was clean and they do play some relaxing music to get you in that zen mode. The walls are thin and I did hear some shuffling here and there but I didn't care because I was feelin' damn good, lol! I did knock off a star because this is one of those places that requires you to pay upfront, including tip. Some people don't mind it, but I do. I'm one of those people who likes to see and feel how good a massage is before I tip. I'm a generous tipper but I don't like having to gauge it before receiving the service. I guess you could always tip more if it was really good, but kinda sucks if you overtip for a massage that wasn't that great, feel me?! Overall the place is clean, prices are great and the staff is friendly. I would definitely recommend it. They do accept walk-ins, but calling in to make an appointment is best. This place does an amazing job linda was my MT she is amazing. I asked for lower back and left shoulder work and she did amazing. I have an old injury and she was able to make the pain manageable. Best foot massage service! My first time at this place staff was very nice and accommodating to my needs and to make me comfortable as being a pregnant woman. The young lady who massaged me did massage on my scalp, face, shoulders, arms, hands and lower body from the knees down. It was perfect just what I needed. This place is the most unprofessional place EVER! As many other reviews stated, my husband went in for a massage and was charged ahead of time for a massage and asked to tip ahead of time too. (Presumptuous, as the tip is supposed to be based on the service given). My husband gave a 20% tip which is industry standard. He said he never even saw a sign to tip more as he wasn't paying attention for one. At the end when he went to leave the lady harassed him saying 20% is too low and a bad tip. What the heck. If more was expected maybe include it in your total rather than harass your customers and make them feel so uncomfortable! Clearly the owners are aware of this prob they are responding the same generic response to everyone's complaint. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! I've been coming to Elegant Massage for a while and I usually get a 90 minute massage. I walked in with knots and a tight back, and I walk out feeling good. There WAS a therapist who I would trust to take care of me and the sore spots I dealt with, Amanda, but suddenly she is gone, which saddens me. I would have paid doubled to have kept her around. What happened to Amanda??? The vibe is positive and willing to work on the spots that bother you. I've been mostly happy going there. The ladies there always try. If you book an appointment, make sure you get the person you ask for. I had a switch which I didn't approve of, but still was able to enjoy. I will call out Coco, I was told she was new.. and they were right. I was willing to give her a shot. Her technique was not the best. I don't want to be too negative, I am simply calling out an issue and being honest with my reviews. So normally, I would give this place 4 out of 5 stars.. and some days 5 out of 5 because of Amanda's excellent ability to take the tightness out of my back, but in this case, I am starting with my last massage, and it was ok, so the score drops to 3/5. And then having them switch therapists on me, when I called up and specifically asked for Mayumi, and got someone else. Not cool. The score drops to 2/5. I will be back, and I only hope that the front desk does a better job. read more

Wow! Just had an amazing massage by Sam. Perfect pressure and he was very skilled in finding and working out my knots as well as stretching me out! I love that he did medium pressure, as I asked - it was both relaxing and therapeutic. I paid $35 for a 30 minute massage, in a private room, plus $10 tip. I went here for a massage and had an absolutely horrible experience from beginning to end. I got a combo foot massage which is in the shared room. Tom was the name of my masseuse. He was EXTREMELY rough the entire time. He ripped my hair tie out of my hair instead of just asking me to take it out, had his elbows resting on my hair which was pulling on my scalp, and put a ton of lotion on my face and got it in my eye. When it was time for me to turn over onto my stomach, he asked me to take off my tanktop and bra. We were in a shared room and him even asking me this made me extremely uncomfortable. He tucked the towel into my shorts and pulled my shorts down so that half of my butt was exposed. He then proceeded to massage my back so incredibly hard that he popped blood vessels and my back is bruised and painful to the touch today. I also saw reviews from someone else on here where the front desk lady responded extremely rudely and unprofessional calling her a "cry baby" and saying her review was "bs". That is the same woman who still works at the front desk and may possibly even be the owner. This is a very shady, unprofessional business and I felt extremely violated as a 20 year old woman with an old man asking me to take off my top and then being so rough from beginning to end. read more
