Did an awesome with water mitigation, but when it comes to restoring, they gave me BS that they are booked months ahead. When asked how long, they said they don't know. But they will refer me to another company they work with called Red Door. Red Door came and did the estimate then never heard from them again. To think about it, why would they do restoration work that take days or a week to finish when they can just do water mitigation for a day or two and get the same pay. Bunch of lazy people! read more

Let me start by saying I understand this group of gentleman have dozens of years of experience... that being said their work would leave you wondering how they are still in business in GA. My uncle commissioned these guys to do a LARGE remodel project of his new house. They layered new metal roofing over existing shingles, didn't install deck railing slats to code, had tons of code violations called out by inspectors, cut ever corner they could, and NEVER finished work. If you're thinking of remodeling your house I urge you to explore options outside of this group. It's one thing to get called out on bad work/craftsmanship and man up and fix what was incorrect... it's a whole different thing to pick up everything and run from the job leaving it completely unfinished. I would be ashamed to work for or run a company that not only doesn't finish the work they committed to but purposefully cuts corners and goes ghost when asked to correct shotty work. We had an absolutely terrible experience with Element restoration. We hired them (after several other quotes) to renovate a bathroom. We nearly immediately had second thoughts when the project manager simply failed to show on up on two separate occasions prior to beginning the project without a phone call or explanation. Once the work began, however, the problems got worse. The contractors, rarely, if ever showed up when promised. When they did work, it was only for a few hours at a time. And every time they left, our house was treated like a garbage pile. Every day, there was construction debris and dust throughout our house; the contractors tracked mud and debris without bothering to sweep up. The demolition trash was left in our front yard for over one month before Element bothered to pick it up and despite repeated requests (and unfulfilled promises to do so). The work was generally shoddy. As but one example, a contractor decided to remove a large glass block window in our shower by using a sledge hammer without any protection. He left that day with literally thousands of shards of glass throughout ours and our neighbors back yard. My wife and I spend several hours that evening collecting the shards. Other work was similarly bad. We had a large glass shower door. When the contractor finished building the shower, he realized that he had failed to leave enough room to install the door, so a new one had to be ordered. As another example, the tile subcontractor incorrectly installed a tile mosaic backward, and forced us to order additional tile. The first tile subcontractor performed so poorly that he was terminated mid-job, and his replacement called me personally on multiple occasions to get paid, which I did personally because Element had, again, overpromised. To add insult to injury, the final project was not completed for approximately one month behind schedule. The last week, one of the contractors or subcontractors stole a significant sum of cash from a dresser drawer. I genuienly rarely write negative reviews, and I hesitated to include this much information for fear it sounds like we are simply needy clients/homeowners. We're not, but the genuinely was an absolutely awful experience from beginning to end. On multiple occasions, we contemplated firing Element, but were promised "don't worry, we're going to make it right and fix the problem." In hindsight, there were multiple instances in which they should have terminated and replaced. read more

They do not pay their vendors which means even though you paid Element likely with insurance money they do not pay who they are supposed to making your home vulnerable to a LIEN. One year ago I did about $18,000 worth of restoration work to my basement. They replaced my water heater using RS Andrews. It was on the original scope of work document to replace it and Element took care of everything. EXCEPT paying RS Andrews. Now one year later RS Andrews is trying to collect payment from me not Element (even though I never even contacted them or signed anything) and Element is claiming I had agreed to pay for the water heater on my own PLUS pay Element for the water heater because apparently I'm an idiot. Not worthy of even 1 star in my opinion. If your want repairs completed correctly and in a timely fashion do not use this company for your repairs. My landlord selected Element Restoration Group when my family and I had a flood in our home. Someone from Element showed early the next morning and they were hard at work with getting everything dried and cleaned. After 4 days of drying Element was supposed to complete repairs on the house. The repairs were completed two days before we had to be out of our hotel. Initially the repairs looked good. After moving back into my home. I noticed a water leak under the bathroom sink. I got the water up and called Element to report it. They had what I thought was an employee but turned out to be a contractor come to my house to complete repairs. The contractor did not fix anything because he said he did not see any water. Within the next two days I found water in my bathroom vanity and on the floor. I called element and they had the same contractor come back out. Now the water had leaked so bad that they had to remove all of the flooring and let the floor dry for days. The same contractor came back to the house and spent hours fixing the plumbing and supposedly replacing the vanity and flooring. I was told not to use the bathroom for two days. After two days, I entered the bathroom and noticed the flooring was bubbled up and the vanity had broken wood in in parts. I called element back and the project manager showed up. We walked through and took note and pictures of work that was not completed properly and in some places was a down right bad job. The project manager said that he would call me to schedule someone to fix the problems. This was on a Tuesday. I did not hear from him the rest of the week. The following week I checked my voicemail and I had a call around 8 something in the morning from another contractor from Saturday saying that he was coming to do repairs. I called the office and informed them that no one called and made an appointment and I did not get the contractors message until 3 days later. Element had the contract call me and he (the contractor and I ) scheduled an appointment for the upcoming Saturday. Saturday came and went with no communication from the contractor or Element. I called Element on Monday of the following week requesting that the owners call me. I was told that someone would call me back before the end of the day. It is now late Tuesday evening and still not call from Element. The repairs still need to be done. I don't know if the bad service, lack of communication and sub par repairs are due to incompetence or indifference. Either is completely not acceptable for a company doing work on people's most valuable asset. I am an insurance agent with one of the top 3 insurance companies in the US and deal with and refer clients to restoration companies on a daily basis. I would not recommend this company for even the most basic and simple repairs. There are a lot of companies that do great work and communicate with their customers and clients. Based on what I have seen and experienced in the last 4 weeks, this is not one of them. read more

After having a somewhat minor water leak, my plumber recommended what he said were, "good people" to come out and verify if additional work was needed, etc. to clean up after my water damage. He said the Element Restoration Group had actually done his home and he recommended them highly. My plumber called Matt at Element for me, who ended up sending Josh Spinks to my home. Josh showed up on time and after asking me about the details regarding the leak, Josh and another Element employee looked around. They confirmed that I had everything under control and I really didn't need their services. He also gave me some advice about how to get my basement back to normal, just to be helpful. Why I am posting this is that I applaud the HONESTY for a business (and its employees) to offer the truth regarding services needed -- or not needed. When a company says that their services won't help a homeowner, well then you can trust them when they say they can help or when they tell you that you need their services. So based on their honest assessment of my damage, I'd trust them to have the same truthful assessment of your home. If you have had storm, fire, or water damage call them and you should be able to trust their assessment. Trust is a rare thing today. I thought Yelpers would appreciate this review. read more

They came out to my church to handle our water damage in our bathrooms. They came out and did the drying and other problems but after they got their money for that part . Could not reach them to come out and repair what they had taken out . And just left us hanging. Would not recommend this company to no one. Please do not use this company!!!!!!! read more

Joshua is hands down the best company representative I have ever dealt with in the service industry and quite possibly THE best in the industry. Joshua is a young, caring and very knowledgable individual, who personally invested himself into my unfortunate situation. Joshua helped me communicate with my insurance company and made me feel secure and well taken care of in a bad situation where my home was flooded. Joshua wasn't the only member of Element that went above and beyond. We felt well taken care of throughout the entire process. I was referred to them by another company because we had water coming into the garage due to an issue in the master bathroom. Matt came out right away and explained that it was a drainage problem from the master bathroom so we would not need their services. I would recommend them to others. If I ever need to have work completed for what they cover I will be sure to call. read more

Great acting employees, but VERY pour service. Multiple calls to schedule to them to pick up their equipment, but they NEVER showed and just kept adding charges against me. They lied saying I was never home. I have cameras outside my house and I watched every minute of it and NEVER saw their vehicles or anyone stop at my house. They kept mentioning how great my insurance company was, but now I see they were acting so careless because they thought my insurance company would pay for all the extra crap they did. The time off school I had to take and issues to work caused by the multiple appointments is upsetting. First day they came out they assured me it was minor damage. Second time they come out it was a completely different story and they decided to "investigate damages further" and removed my entire kitchen then it was a nightmare to get them to come back and take their equipment. Now I have to go through the bill item by item since I know their charges are bogus. They added charges for coming "after hours" even though I assured they were never at my house after 5pm and NEVER had them on weekends. Since when is 10am after hours? When is a 12:30pm phone call on a weekday considered an emergency after hours appointment? Very upsetting. read more
