He even brings the elements indoors with fresh evergreen sprigs, stones, and wild flowers. If you find this place as sacred as so many others, you will want to return, again and again. There is nothing that can bring you closer to nature than showering in the open outdoor shower at the base of ancient redwoods. The earthy woods, the open air, the all season creek, the crackling fire...it brings my creativity alive. I have done some of my best writing and art in this space. There are gifts and tokens from those who have come before, heart shaped rocks line the fence, stacked stones, and pros of inspiration and gratitude fill the pages of the guest book. I could honestly stay in it all day and would come back just to sleep in that bed again. They provided yummy snacks, there is a full kitchen, and the space itself was very cozy and warm. It felt like the perfect place to fully unwind and enjoy the stay. Everyone at the lodge was extremely friendly and welcoming. The bar is just a few steps down, which was very convenient, and during Christmas the lodge is absolutely beautiful. They had a huge Christmas tree that made the entire place feel magical and festive. I would highly recommend staying here. The house is located on the coast north of Bodega Bay and has awesome views from the windows of the living areas. I could've spent the entire time just looking at the ocean and river from all of the wonderful "nooks & crannies" provided around the house & in the different patio areas located on the property. We did use some of them: The young adults absolutely loved the spa which had views; there was a fireplace where we had s'mores one night; we BBQ'd on the top balcony; we ate breakfast at the dining room table with large picture windows. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots & pans plus dishes in order to cook. We had a little trouble finding enough steak knives, but that was minor. It was a very functional & fun kitchen to work in & I'm very picky about kitchens. The bedrooms were very nice & the beds were comfortable. Baths were good. Only "bad" spot was when my husband didn't have shampoo the first morning & no one else was up to borrow from (i.e., my daughter who brings EVERYTHING). My 2 little complaints (& they're minor) were that 1) there was no seating in front of the fireplace (because I am always cold & wanted to sit there & bake) and 2) there was no TV in the main area by the kitchen. I think because we're sports fans & wanted to watch a few football games in the early afternoon/evening while we were preparing dinner, it's what we're used to doing in our own homes. Again these are things that might not matter to others. Anyway, if anything, I wish we had had more time at Casa Panama. No one wanted to go home, because we had such a great time.

Although the ad tells it can sleep 10, it has 2.5 rooms with horrible small and smelly beds - far from sleeping even half of that! The entire house is infested with all the bugs you can think of (termites, ants, mosquitoes, etc.), a poorly maintained back yard, a grill that had all the grease and fat of the gazillion guests that have used it before...disgusting. I cant even talk about the kitchen... be aware, this kind of place must be out of business immediately - as its not worthy to host humans.. definitely not for even a fraction of the price.

Not inviting so we sat at a high boy in the darkened bar, which was much nicer. I'm sure it's beautiful to sit on the balcony in the summer on warm nights. We chatted with the German owner who was doubling as a bartender, who was very nice. We loved the German influences in the bar, as we had just been to Oktoberfest in Munich. The owner's daughter Sarah runs the kitchen. My husband had a pork tenderloin schnitzel "Vienna style" ($20) and I had a jaegerschnizel with mushroom gravy ($20) and both were excellent. We split the potato pancakes (two with sour cream and apple sauce, $12) which were served crispy but tasty. They had a nice German beer and wine list. We finished with a delicious apple strudel to complete a lovely meal. I recommend this restaurant for tasty dinners in a unique venue.

The property where these 2 houses were built was zoned for a Hotel. The 2 were getting older and needed a way to survive when older because they had always been autonomous working their own business so not much retirement money only a small amount from Social Security so building these houses as a vacation rental so it WOULD NOT take housing from people who needed it. Two workers who built and worked on hundereds of local houses keeping th comunity in shape should not be ridiculed for building vacation houses as a vacation house. They were never ment to be" Housing"
