I can only say great things about my experience at Elements. I have had chronic back pain and plantar fasciitis for years. My right foot was making it difficult to even walk through the door from the parking lot. I had a visible limp. My back was also painful, I even missed work the previous week due to pain and spasms. James listened well as I detailed all my "issues". Then during my massage he was careful to work the muscles but not cause any harm. I left walking out to the reception desk with my limp 90% gone! I was ecstatic. Even the receptionist noticed. I signed up for their reasonable membership right there and then....I NEVER do that. That is how good I felt. I made my next appointment before I left. If you have chronic pain you must give them a try. read more

After an almost harassing number of text messages to confirm an appointment, I show up for my 90 minute massage only to have had it canceled. One text message, which my wife received, saying it was canceled. This message was ignored because we had received so many confirmation messages. The young woman at the front desk had no evidence of my canceled appointment, couldn't find my name, and could have cared less. Her customer service sucked, to put it frankly. Communication and customer service were poor at this location. I'll never go back and suggest you do the same. read more

I haven't had a massage since I was stationed in Okinawa, and the stocky little mama-san was really good at getting the kinks out of my legs, neck and back from injuries stemming from my flying days. Fast forward to last week, and I had my appointment with Miyesha, a request I made due to a highly favourable review. She did not disappoint--and in fact outmatched those great massages I got decades ago. She certainly knows her business, and it's clear she intuitively knows the body's musculature, and can feel the places where the kinks need to be worked out. My session was 90 minutes, and I'll try and grab a 2hr one next. BEST massage ever! read more

After the posting of my review, I quickly received a call from the owner, Steve, who went on to explain the policy of the business. He did provide an additional massage complimentary for all the mix up which was a nice gesture. Thank you. If scheduling an appointment online, please know that this is a temporary placeholder appointment. Until you've spoken with a receptionist, you do NOT have an appointment. If someone else wants the same appointment time and gets called and confirms before you do then it goes to that person. This is something that's not explained clearly and should be. Easy experience purchasing a gift card for a first time customer. Well here's where things went wrong, the appointment was scheduled online with the therapist of choice. The phone call was missed and when I called back during work hours, the voicemail said to leave a message or text. I did both. To this day, never was there a response. Upon arrival for the massage, no appointment was there. The receptionist seemed to be dumbfounded. The receptionist claimed that they had been calling. I will NOT patronize this place. Personally, sorry that I even purchased a massage as a gift for another person. What the owner of this franchise and management need to understand is that you're not the only massage place in Richmond. While you should treat all customers nice, it's an awful experience when a first time customer is passed over. You can't expect repeat business or a referral with the service you've already provided. read more

So, I called and made an appt for my husband to get a massage on Father's Day. They asked me many questions about his preferences- I made very clear to Brittany that it was a gift and I was setting up and leaving my card on file. I asked to add on the 20 minute hot stones and also requested a female masseuse. My husband finished his massage, he was happy overall. He said the massage was really good however, the male therapist they paired him with (after I requested female) left lots of oil all over him, he was still covered in oil and has never had this happen anywhere else. I then asked if he enjoyed the hot stones, he said he did not get them... very annoying. I also am not a fan of them advertising for a 60 minute massage and he only received 50 minutes and the other 10 is for him to get changed. They should advertise for a 50 minute massage! Anyways, I called Brittany and at no point did she own up to it or apologize. She stated she could get him in another day for the 20 minute hot stone.... When I asked why if it was on his chart, did he not receive it? She said he had to approve it. I then asked if she made him aware that I had selected that for him, she said no. Keep in mind she knew this was a gift! I told her what I'd like for him to have and she disregarded everything her and I spoke about. At the end of the call she sat on the other end quietly, not saying another word until I hung up. Brittany should take customer service classes. read more

Clean facility with friendly staff. Needed an appointment rather quickly to alleviate some pain, called and had an appointment for the next day. They are all about customizing your experience by matching you with a therapist best suited for your needs. I have a regular therapist elsewhere, but needed something fast and this fit the bill. They were prompt on my appointment time, it was a decent massage, and even though they have a wellness membership program they are not pushy about it. It's definitely cheaper to do the program if you will be a regular, but still an affordable option when you need something timely. Would recommend. read more

Had an excellent experience here as I came in last time with a Groupon. The staff was very friendly and personable, and got started without any wait. They also weren't pushy as many other places are. They give a complimentary chocolate on your massage bed which is always good with me :) Sam, my masseuse was awesome and customized the session to what I wanted. Husband and I booked online for a couples massage (Our Anniversary). They advertised for couples massages...once we arrived they informed us that they did not have rooms big enough for a couples massage. Next, they took my husband back for his massage, after waiting 15 minutes, (listening to the reception crunch chips the entire time) so unprofessional!!!! the manager informed me that my therapist had not arrived and that I'd have to reschedule. Sam is an experienced massage therapist providing deep tissue and reflexology style massages. She pays attention to the areas that need more work than others during the session. Sam will also take note of what areas need more work in the future. She is one of the best massage therapists I have had. In addition to the provided massage services, I also enjoy the attentiveness of the receptionists. They accommodate the changes in my schedule and help me find times that work for my appointments. Very, very nice studio and everyone there has exceptional levels with customer service. I've gone there for a couple massages now and they have all been fantastic. The massage therapists have all taken time to ask what's going on with my body and how they can beat tailor the massage to help. Last week I had Robbie as my masseuse and will likely be using him going forward. He definitely helped my back and provided stretches to help with pain between appointments. Additionally, they have a monthly massage package, which is very affordable and can reduce the cost of a massage. I came to element massage to have a day of relaxation. Booking my appointment was super easy . They don't have many massage therapist that do the hot stone massages, so that was a little disappointing. I would have had to wait till the next week. I decided to just get a regular hour long message. I am glad I did ! When you walk in they do tell you about their membership but they are not pushy at all. The therapist I had was Robby :) He was fantastic! He really listened when I told him the areas I wanted to focus on, and actually focused on those areas. The price for new clients is $49 dollars. Came here (randomly) while my dog was at the vet. I had really bad muscle spasms and inflamed discs. They got me in quickly, were very friendly, and very accommodating. Kirsten did a deep tissue massage. Within 15 minutes I cpuld feel the muscles release and relax. I actually fell asleep halfway through. She did such a good job that I had the massage high afterwards. I came in needing a walking cane and left standing straight. Worth every penny. read more

I have been going to Elements Massage in Short Pump for almost 2 years now. Everyone at Elements is super friendly. I had a few different massage therapist but once my therapist had to cancel and I was scheduled with Myeisha. I have scheduled with her ever since. I did not know what a great massage was until she massaged me. Myeisha puts her body and soul into her massages. I almost always schedule a 2 hour and no less than a 90 minute massage with her. I have a lot of issues with my back and neck, plus a lot of stress and I feel so much better after she massages me. Many times I just tell her do what she thinks I need and she always finds those muscles that need loosened up. She gives great tips on how to help strengthen the back or to relax the muscles. I schedule my next appointment and forget about it and when I get the reminder call, I get so excited that I it's time for my next massage. I highly recommend Myeisha to anyone, especially if you've never had a good massage or have never had a massage. She loves what she does and it shows. I love to see her walk out to get me and she's always so happy to see you. The people that come out before me always say great things about her too. She puts her heart and spirit into her massages. It's like a symphony on your body. You have to try it to see what I mean. Myeisha doesn't provide a massage, she provides an experience!! read more

The atmosphere in the front check-in area is very calming and nice. The receptionists are efficient and helpful. Having the notebook on the table where you can look up the different therapists is helpful. I had Evan as my massage therapist and he was very professional. He checked with me a couple of times during the massage to make sure the pressure wasn't too much or if the pressure needed to be more. Terrible customer service. First time using this chain. And last. Learned about the talent and chose the therapist I wanted, came back three hours later for the appointment and was told that the manager changed my therapist and she was in a meeting and couldn't speak with me (at 7 o'clock in the evening)... They booked someone else in my spot and they passed me off to a less qualified, less experienced Massuse. Really! Never had something like this happen before. It's nice to have Yelp to be able to avoid businesses like these in the future. read more
