I had a deep tissue massage with Tom today. I have been suffering for the last 5 weeks with a bad case of sciatica. I advised Tom if my problem and placed extra emphasis on the problem area. When I walked in I was stiff; hunched, limping and in pain. I was extremely please to report that I walked out, up straight, feeling light and loose and walking straight. The pain was greatly relieved to my delight. Tom was very professional, and had very strong warm hands which helped relieve my pain. I am definitely returning. Elements is a bit pricey so I gave them stars but you get what you pay for. I will be returning for a series of deep tissue massages with Tom. read more

In this review I look to contrast and compare my wife's experience with my own. We received our first massages 7/11/2021 and wished to share our experiences. If in the process of reviewing Elements Massage in WP upset, injure or disappoint please note that the purpose of the review was to compare and contrast and not grade nor judge, and definitely not to recommend or encourage one against another but to pretend I wrote this for myself prior to receiving my massage. My wife had Tibor. I had Natalia. Some things to take note: My wife and I ordered the same massage which was the 90 min massage. Tibor: Was consistent in gauging if the level of pressure was okay throughout the massage. Was very accommodating. Asked what she wanted to get out of the massage at the beginning of the massage. Made suggestions based on how her body reacted throughout the massage. Conducted a cranial massage. Placed a warm towel on her back and rubbed her with it. Natalia: Gauged the level of pressure being used at the beginning. Was accommodating at the beginning but not throughout the massage. Used deep pressure throughout the massage. Worked out serious knots I had in my shoulder blade. Did ask me what I wished to get out of the massage at the beginning. Did not ask or gauge the level of pressure throughout the massage. Did not make suggestions Did not perform a cranial massage (My favorite)! Did not place a warm towel on my back either (My 2nd favorite) Tibor was warm, overly accommodating and caring. Natalia was professional, accommodating, but cold. My wife left Tibor's table a new woman. I left Natalia's table wondering "Wait! Is it over; seriously?" :( My massage lacked a good finish, such as a towel rub, cranial. I felt like I went to a chiropractic and my wife felt as if she went a masseur. Did I have serious back and leg or arm pains no! No pain at all just was looking to relax. I did not relax throughout and felt like one does when you have a serious food craving and you try a healthy substitute which does the craving little justice. My wife and I started our massage within 1-2 mins of each other and I waited about 10 minutes or so for her to finish. I was so jealous she received what appeared to be more time than me. I would say Tibor is more passionate. With all do respect Natalia has been practicing for 6 years+ from her account. I didn't feel that experience during the rub. It was lacking. Kind of like a good dish that needed a bit of salt and oregano to seal the deal. Everything I do I pour my heart into it as you can see from this review. I expect my masseuse/masseur to do the same, and yes I would tip way more than 25%. However, give me the options of paying more for a fantastic massage, don't treat me like I used a Groupon which I didn't. Would I see Natalia again? No. Not because she isn't good in her own right, but simply because she lacks that warmth and passion that I am use to receiving from such professionals. I rated a 4 because the reviews were accumulative of two massages. Tibor 5 Natalia 4 Out of a total 10 max score they scored a (9/2) = 4.5 total score I have no way to score 4.5 so I did not round up, and scored a 4. This place is simply amazing! They have tons of therapists who all do different massages but the front desk staff can help you based on what you're looking for. As someone who is high strung and tense, and up on my feet frequently due to my job, they loosened up tightness that I didn't realize I had. I've been a member of Elements massage in the past, and I've had many massages there. I generally like this location; the staff at the front desk is friendly, the location is clean and there seem to be masseuses who can cater to many different styles and pressures. Unfortunately, I've now had 2 less than ideal massages with Frank, which is why I'm giving only 3 stars. I find massages with Frank to be less than relaxing. I appreciate him trying to check in frequently to ensure the pressure is ok, but it is impossible to relax when he is constantly describing the my muscular anatomy and inviting conversation about the massage. It is very distracting to be listening to a lesson on the acronyms he uses to remember muscle group functions during my massage. I can tell that he takes great pride in his certification and knowledge, but It is a bit over the top. Additionally, I don't particularly care for his massage style. It feels too quick and I felt like more time was spend talking and moving around the room than actually massaging my area of concern. I found myself fairly distraught at the end; not only was it not a full body massage, but the areas he did focus on did nothing for the kink in my neck I came in for in the first place. read more

I have been to Elements Massage in White Plains a number of times. My massages with Clever have been phenomenal. At first I was very skeptical of his Amazonian "healer" background but he is probably the best masseuse I have ever had. On another positive note the place is comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. But the reason my review is only 3 stars are due to the following: 1. I had a very sub-par massage with Tom. Compared to other massages, it was an underwhelming experience. The right pressure level was not applied and he seemed tentative throughout the massage. 2. The massages are not worth the very expensive price for an hourly session. You are expected to tip the masseuse $20 minimum which further drives up the ridiculous pricing. I now go to Healthy Massage in White Plains for an equally satisfying but more affordable experience. 3. I have never been a member of Elements Massage. Yet, they put my name on their white board which lists out all their 'members'. Even after I informed the front desk I am not a member, they still kept my name up there. I assume this is a marketing ploy to make it seem like they have more members than they actually do. I am not a fan of any type of deceptive practices so I am calling it out here. read more

Massage experience really depends on who your masseuse is for the day. The front desk people have always been friendly and inviting. I signed up for the membership since I was looking for a consistent prenatal massage location and the pricing was good. They don't offer the prenatal massage table, but do most of the massage in side lying with a bolster or elevated on your back. My first massage was with Ian. He was excellent. Five stars for him for sure. Checked in just enough to see how the pressure was and adjusted accordingly. Great demeanor and I felt comfortable. Left feeling much better considering all the expected pregnancy aches and pains. My second massage was with Frank, and it was one of my least favorite I've ever gotten pregnant or not. I know some reviews love him, but his style is just not for me. He made some troubling statements that really are not in his scope and are for a licensed physician or OB. The massage itself felt like an intense full body lotioning and my skin was on fire and irritated from how quickly he massaged my limbs and back. He asked if I wanted to massage the baby (HUGE no no for pregnancy). He also spoke to me about inducing my labor if I get to week 40 and that it typically happens within 25min to 2 days (fine: I understand some ppl want alternative options, but he mentioned it just before starting my massage and it felt not appropriate in the moment). I just did not leave feeling relaxed or in better shape than when I came in, which was very disappointing. Despite the differences in experiences, I'm looking forward to my next massage with a different masseuse to see if I can find my match. read more

I went to get a 60 minute massage on Monday 5/28/18 at 5 pm and this was definitely not what I expected. It was done by a female massage. She is a nice person but the massage was not. It was hard and rough, I told her that and she used less force. Then after sometime, the force would be hard again. During the massage, I actually caught a cramp. This was the first time this ever happened to me. I thought it was supposed to relax me. Oh well. Also, we got there before 5, actually like 4:45 pm, filled out the forms and we were done like 4:57. Then we waited for 10 mins while we were talking to the receptionist. She was courteous and talking about the company. Then the masseuse came out like 5:07/5:10 and it was over at 5:55. Losing a quarter of the time. Definitely would not recommend it. I know it was a holiday, but if you want to be done faster, you should not be there. I hope they get better. read more

I had a massage by Clever on Friday 5/6 and it was exactly what I needed. Having been hunched over in less-than-optimal chairs, stressed, and staring at a screen all day studying for exams, I really needed some help with back pain. Elements Massage isn't a luxury spa; they get the job done and done well. I would say efficient, but not in a bad way. It's not a place you linger for 5-6 hours for a "pampering spa day", it's a place you come to get your problems (aches and pains) fixed, and they do get fixed. I would recommend Clever. He suggested some stretches for me to do as he noticed my shoulders and upper back were really tight (and that is where I carry most of my pain/stress). read more

As a Christmas gift we received gift cards to have a mom and daughters massage day! My daughters and I had a wonderful experience at this location. From start to finish the staff was processional, well informed and friendly. Four of us - one hour sessions each all very happy with our service. Each massage was tailored to each of our specific needs. The masseuse takes the time to ask questions while the massage is happening which I thought was very nice not to waste your hour on questions. I only give reviews when I'm impressed. I went Elements today and had an amazing experience, the staff was friendly and professional. They had bottles of hand sanitizer everywhere, every staff was wearing face masks the right way "covering noise and mouth". They took my temp and the place was super clean. My therapist Montana was beyond amazing! I have been to many massage therapist before but she blew out of the park! Booked my next session on the spot. I was booked into an appointment with a great massage therapist. The massage studio was clean and there were plenty of amenities to make you feel comfortable. The therapist went over my needs and any questions I had. I left feeling relaxed and ready to take on the week! The new owners were also in the studio to greet clients which is nice. They took over the business last march. It is locally owned. As I was only in town for a short time I did not join the monthly membership, however I would have if I lived near by! I was a member at Elements Massage for about 6 months. I became very busy and could not attend the massage sessions that I paid for and accumulated 3 massage sessions. Because I decided to move to Manhattan, and there are no Elements locations there, I canceled my membership on January 14, 2017. At cancellation, pursuant to the cancellation policy and billing cycle, I was required to pay for another session, which I was fine with. At cancellation, I was told by the receptionist, Joe that I could use the sessions that I had accumulated, at any time. I used a session, gave a gift card to my sister and had a credit of 1 more session. For my friend's birthday, I gifted her the last session that I had accumulated. To my dismay, I was told last week that I no longer had that session because I did not use it within 30 days of canceling my membership. I received this news after calling several times and being promised that someone would rectify the situation, because I was under the impression that I had an unused session. When the receptionist told me that my session was no longer available, she apologized for the miscommunication and stated that it was stated in the cancellation policy. I do not understand why an agent would tell me something different than what was in the cancellation policy. The most insulting thing about this conversation is she offered me a discounted session!!! The bottom line is, I had to pay $109.00 for my friend's session! So essentially, this establishment likes to get paid for work that they need not perform after giving patrons misinformation. The owner called and left a message, wanting to have a conversation about what happened. I did not call her back because the damage was already done--I already paid for the session that I should not have had to. I really cannot stress how much customer service is integral to a business. Losing out on "one session" pails in comparison to losing out on a customer who bought into your membership! Just shooting yourself in the foot. Also, I will co-sign another Yelper in confirming that the receptionists have no idea what is going on half the time and clearly need training. I had to call back two days to get information as to whether a session was available to me. The receptionists made promises to return my calls and never did! I've been regularly getting deep tissue massages for the last year or so, and no one has really been able to manage it quite the same way. I got the second massage, which was also not the best but better than the first. I was leaving, appreciative of their attempt to make it right. Following a lower back surgery, I completed several rounds of physical therapy leaving me quite sore. I still had scar tissue in the area as well. I have been seeing Bogdan, one of the massage therapists at Elements massage in White Plains for a while now and have noticed real improvement.
