    Chicken souvkaki platter
    Jenny T.

Been to this place a few times. Parking is congested in this shopping center but you'll always find a spot. Interior is pretty no frills, booth seating. The chicken souvlaki was decently flavored and cooked. The potatoes are a bit bland, but I really like the tzatziki sauce. Everything is really tangy with the lemon juice. Another time we got Lamb Kapama for dinner. I was interested in lamb shank and they said this was the lamb shank dish. I've never had it prepared like this before-- it was very tender and fell apart, but I wasn't a huge fan of the cinnamon and spice flavor of the sauce. The green beans were good, on the lemony side, and rice was just okay. Overall would come back--they have all the Greek staples and they are pretty quick with service both dine in and for carry out.

Alena's Taverna - "Food That Travels, Atmosphere That Needs a Passport" I stopped into Alena's Taverna while on a business trip since it was close to my hotel and I was craving some Mediterranean. The outside, set in a strip-style mall, is actually pretty charming, so I thought I was in for a cozy dining experience. Unfortunately, once inside, the atmosphere didn't match. The drop ceiling had water stains and sagging panels, the booth seating was cracked and patched, and even the bathroom felt tired. It gave off more of a "patch-and-go" vibe than a polished Mediterranean escape. Now, the food told a better story. I started with the Keftedes (Greek meatballs). Flavor-wise, they were spot on, but they'd spent a little too long on the grill, which left them tougher than I'd hoped. The warm pita bread alongside them, however, was fresh and delicious. For my main, I went with the chicken kebab. It wasn't skewered kebab-style, but rather grilled chicken pieces with peppers, onions, rice, and a Greek side salad. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, the salad crisp and flavorful, and the portion generous enough that I even had leftovers to take back with me. Overall, I'd give the food a solid 3.5 out of 5, leaning toward the higher side for flavor and portion size. The atmosphere, however, really needs attention--it's holding the restaurant back from being a spot I'd be eager to return to. Locals seemed to know the staff well, so clearly it has its regulars. As for me, I might try another Mediterranean option nearby next time, unless they give the place the refresh it deserves.

Lunch at Eleni Greek Taverna - My First Greek Food Experience So today three of us went out for lunch at Eleni Greek Taverna, and this was actually our first time trying Greek food. I didn't really know what to expect, but wow everything was so fresh and flavorful! We ordered quite a lot -- Pikelia (chicken gyro pita salad) Spinach omelette with feta cheese Grilled chicken kabab with pilaf Greek Tour -- kind of like a lasagna, just creamier and richer And three soups on the side Every dish had a different taste and texture, but all of them felt really comforting. The chicken was soft and well-seasoned, the omelette had that perfect feta tang, and the Greek Tour was just melt-in-the-mouth good. The portions were massive we actually had to pack a lot to take home! But overall, such a cozy little lunch. First time trying Greek, and honestly... I think it's not going to be the last.

From the moment we walked in, it felt warm and welcoming with a true family-run vibe. Although so didn't get a chance to take photos of the kababs or lamb chops, I recommend both! Everything was delicious. Great service and an overall wonderful experience. Will definitely be back.

We absolutely love coming to Eleni's Greek Taverna any time we visit Virginia. It's a staple of there community. The owners and staff are the best !! So friendly and they make you feel like family . The food is ridiculously good . From breakfast to dessert there isn't a single item that we got that we were ever disappointed in . The chef Vasilie is a wonder in the kitchen. The ambience is authentic Greek , the blue and white colors and painted mural make me feel as if I'm sitting in a Mediterranean tavern by the ocean . Their prices are very reasonable and there's plenty of parking ! Can't wait to visit again !!

Excellent little Greek diner. Great menu options, breakfast all day. Decent prices. Greek salad was delicious, with a house made dressing served in little pitchers so dressing lovers can get as much as you need. Very accommodating to our large group of about 10.

Eleni's Greek Taverna - A Perfect Post-Pickleball Refuel! After a solid pickleball session, my appetite led me straight to Eleni's Greek Taverna, and it did not disappoint. You know that feeling when you just want some good food, chill vibes, and a place to refuel? This place has all of that and more. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to Greek food, so seeing gyros and steak and cheese on the menu had me hyped from the start. We got to choose our own booth (always a plus), and our waitress was super friendly -- making sure we had everything we needed without missing a beat. The Commander's game was playing on TV, so it felt like the perfect mix of good food, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere. I went with the classic gyro, which was flavorful, juicy, and wrapped in that warm, soft pita that hits the spot every time. The steak and cheese was just as satisfying, packed with flavor and perfect for a post-game meal. I tried fasolakia (Greek-style green beans) for the first time as a side, and I gotta say, it was a pleasant surprise! Simple, tasty, and balanced perfectly with the fries and potatoes on the side. Eleni's is one of those places that just makes you feel at home -- great food, welcoming atmosphere, and the perfect spot to hang out, watch the game, and enjoy some quality Greek dishes. If you're in the area and need a spot to unwind and eat well after a game or just because, do yourself a favor and check it out. Trust me, you'll leave happy and full.

The food was very traditional Greek and it was just what I was looking for. Our waiter was quick and came over several times to check on us and refill drinks. I had the grilled octopus appetizer and it tasted great. My entree was the Eleni's Greek tour and it had huge portions of moussaka and pasticcio with potatoes and spanikopita. Liked it a lot. It also came with a soup or salad and I opted for the soup since it was this lemon chicken orzo soup and it was delicious even though it was 90° weather outside. Definitely will come back here.

As a big fan of Greek food, I found the food here to be pretty average overall. The one standout was the lamb kapama--so tender and very delicious. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, even though the place wasn't busy. We had to keep trying to get the staff's attention for things. That said, they were very nice and friendly, which I appreciated.

    Delicious and huge Greek salad.

Fantastic. Generous portions of freshly prepared Greek food. I had a Greek salad with grilled chicken and a bowl of Avgolemono soup with a glass of Retsina. Huge portions and super tasty. Pleasant and comfortable environment, easy parking. Great service too! Opa!

Once again wonderful friends have introduced us to an excellent Springfield restaurant! Eleni's Greek Taverna is literally a hidden gem. We had the Cheese Saganani (fried cheese) that was served flambé at the table! The cheese was served with pita. The Greek Garden side salad of course has the mandatory feta cheese, fresh and crisp greens and an herbed creamy dressing. The Mousaka [sic] was the best in the region! Eleni's Mousaka is a huge portion of this classic Greek casserole dish. As described in the menu it is made with layers of potatoes, eggplant, seasoned ground beef and topped with a creamy bechamel sauce baked to golden perfection. I'd go back for that for done in or carry out! Other dishes enjoyed by our party were the gyros platter with lots of crispy fries and a Greek omelette, both of which were devoured and obviously enjoyed! Did I mention that Eleni's serves all day breakfast? We will need to go back soon to explore more of that part of the extensive menu. The atmosphere was very family! Our waitress is the mother of Eleni's and is familiar with our friends. She was glad to see them and asked about happenings in their lives, and our friends reciprocated the conversation. Where were introduced as friends and were addressed by our first names during the meal, true to a Greek family gathering. We had an amazing time and enjoyed the white and blue themed paint surrounding the Greek decor that lent a special ambiance. Prices for these very large portions of very well made Greek food were very reasonable, making our meals a high value for the dollar. We must return to try all of our Greek favorites and Eleni's specialties! I'm sure it will become a favorite place.

Since the reservation form asked if we were celebrating anything, I hoped we would be placed in a special area or at least somewhere more intimate. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We were led up a staircase, which offered a cool view of the environment, but ended up at a small table in a small high traffic area. Initially, we thought it was a unique experience because of the restaurant's interior design, but we soon realized it was going to be uncomfortable...because heat rises and we were stuck upstairs with so many other people who seemed just as warm as us. It was excessively hot, and I found myself fanning myself with one of the menus at the table. While our server was probably trying his best, the service left much to be desired. We were eager to leave as soon as we arrived. After ordering and enjoying what we could of our meals, which were quite good, we just wanted to leave. However, our server was absent for a long time, leaving us stuck at the table. Instead of being a cute little anniversary dinner, it just turned out to be a disappointing experience at a new restaurant

My bf is in tech so he has a habit of taking his laptop everywhere-- I tend to think there are certain places you can have laptops and certain places where you can't. First Watch is one of those places where I'm like eh.... Maybe not. But I did! We didn't stay long and only had our laptops open for the meal, but no one said anything so it was solid. Additionally, I didn't know what I wanted to eat because I wanted to be a little adventurous so I ask the waitress what I should get. I am sometimes hesitant to ask bc I always feel they're going to upcharge me instead of giving me their opinion, but I don't believe she did thank and I was grateful! Wish I got her name. FOOD: So, for me she suggested the chilaquiles. I trusted her input and ordered that! I was hesitant because, traditionally, that dish is typically very heavy and spice-based, and I didn't know if I wanted to start the day off with food like that, but it was SO GOOD. Lots of flavors. I was very happy. First Watch is always a treat. Fresh food and good times!

Eggs & Sushi is one of those hideouts and if you're not careful, might end up eating 7k calories before you leave. You'll only know this place exists if you live or work in the Lorton area where Eggs & Sushi stands firm. If not for Google Maps, you may drive on by without a thought. I stopped because their simple sign but just some quirky in a strange way caught my eye and it's in the middle of a warehouse street where you would not expect food places to be. Surprisingly, there are always little cafes in these kind of places that feed the immediate workers there. They are sometimes the hidden gems nobody will hear about unless you work in that area. This is one of them. Walking in, it feels like a small diner, yellow walls, lots of menu above the grill area displayed on multiple screens, properly lit dining area. They take orders at the end and at a kiosk as well. Window seats, couple of tables, and some bar seats also. Seems simple enough but this place is the ultimate trap for the hungry. Be careful! When you look up, you realize they have a vast menu and varied in the most fantastic way. You have your generic American style food, eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, sandwiches, coffee, smoothie, an all day breakfast menu. Then you keep walking around to look at the menu, you see sushi, rolls, poke bowls, ramen, some dons, etc. You might think, hmm, they might be overloaded on the menu. Wrong! They make fantastic sandwiches! Smaller not overpriced ramen but with lots of oomph flavor! These guys bring the umami and drip it like masters. The dons hit, the ramen hits, the sandwiches hit, and my all time favorite breakfast item, the elegantly simple French toast hits. They are serving hits here and only a few know about it. Service was adequate from their high school kid waiters. The owners at the grill are very friendly if you get a chance to interact with them. Just a very chill ambience. It's diner that makes me want to move to Lorton. If you find yourself here one day, be careful. The menu makes you want to try everything. I haven't touch everything yet so I'm definitely coming back to try more. I just hope all these reviews won't mean I can't find my cozy window seat in the future.
