Gyro King opening close to me might be one of the best things to check out if I crave something near by or something when it's late night. They are open every day starting from 11 AM to 2 AM.. That's amazing for someone who can't find food in Springfield unless it's at a bar or at a breakfast joint. It's also odd that I was the only one there! The ambiance was a bit quiet but maybe that's I was there early afternoon. Ranging from Halal Rice Platters, Grilled foods, Burgers, Gyros, Falafel and even Fish, this place covers alot. I got the mixed platter with consists of Lamb/Chicken Meat, Rice, Veggies such as tomatoes, onions, chickpeas, cucumbers, drizzled over with white sauce! If you haven't tried it before, it's very savory and filling. It'll fill you up and for such an affordable price I can't really say no! Service was quick once order was placed, and like any places where you make your bowl, the same process is here too; pick your meats, veggies, and then sauce! I would not recommend this restaurant. The inside was clean and had lots of seating available. The food appears to be frozen- it appeared they were cooking frozen gyro meat and beef patties on their stove. The lettuce, and other vegetable/salad toppings appeared to be limp and possibly old. This place has only been open around 6 months, yet there is already a discrepancy with the menu prices on the paper menus inside the store compared to prices on the front counter at the store. For example on the paper menus a cheeseburger is $6.99, whereas on the front counter menu the price is $8.99. These burgers are single patty burgers, and there is nothing in the last 6 months warranting a price increase on burgers or other food. The other thing is $8.99 is extremely overpriced for a low quality, frozen single patty burger. For that price you can get organic grass fed burgers on brioche buns at many other places like elevation burger and others. For their burger offered here, $6-$7 is the correct and fair price since its a lower quality burger. They claimed they do not offer a double cheeseburger- that makes absolutely no sense- obviously they have the capability to offer a double burger but choose not to. Perhaps they believe this will force people into paying for two regular burgers, but thats not how things work out. People will either stick to buying one burger, or just stop coming to the restaurant entirely, when ownership/management choose to engage in price gouging measures like not offering double burgers. We even came in during lunch time and the place was completely empty. I have never been to a burger place that refuses to offer a double cheeseburger. I believe they need to drastically improve their quality level of food while keeping menu prices the same, or lower their prices back to the original menu prices. The burgers werent very good, and the gyro meat was standard frozen gyro meat you could find at a place like restaurant depot... we would not come back unless changes were made to the food quality. read more

I ordered the gyro platter and it was excellent. The platter inclided french fries or Greek style potatoes, so I chose the french fries. There was also a small side salad that was included. I also ordered the Sluvaki for my roommate. Ordering was fast, and they had my orders prepared in less than 10 minutes. Im on my way home from the restaurant now and I can already tell from the smell that the gyro will be estupendous! I didnt realize that this restaurant also serves other types of Greek food, like the Baklava which is a super rich treat! I got the chicken over rice and the mix gyro sandwich. Both were good, the meat flavor profile is different from the other surrounding chicken over rice places. There only seems to be cold sides (think salads and pickles) and no hot option. The restaurant seems to still be working some kinks out with staffing so please show them some grace. read more

This place is only has this rating cuz of fake reviews!! Hands down top 3 worst Gyros I've ever had in my life! This is 100% not a Gyro. -First lamb gyro meat is not cubed!! It's sliced fresh off the meat skewer while it's rotating. -bread was ice cold not warmed at all -they have no actual Gyro sauce!!! Wtf! How are you the gyro king and you put Mayo on your gyro and not tzatziki or even a basic garlic sauce or herb yogurt sauce. Your options are Mayo, jalapeño sauce or Barbecue?? Those are not gyro sauces in any way! Eating it, the whole thing falls everywhere cuz they cubed all the ingredients into Chipotle style tins in advance except the olives which are sliced. This is as far from a gyro as a gyro can get without a passport! I wish I got my 9 $ back. The only good thing was the inside was cleanish. I know this spot just opened so I'm gonna leave a review. The restaurant was rather empty except some homeless guy drunk in the corner staring at me that was weird. But the cashier and cook were very pleasant they had a friendly genuine personality. I looked up at the menu and found it pretty diverse and appeasing. I decided to go with the lamb gyro and large fry. But I do like that they have other options and the pricing Is very affordable. My gyro meat was tender and very delicious . This gyro was kinda wet compared to other places to be honest it's what makes it unique. The French fries are seasoned fries but no complaints there . We ordered the family platter through Door Dash. We did not receive what we ordered. I called and the person who answered said the description wasn't correct on Door dash or apparently the flyer we stopped into restaurant and picked up. We expected lamb, chicken, salad and fries. what we received was rice, chicken, some type of soft meat, a piece of fish, a few very over cooked falafel and some salad. For a family of four, only 2 small pitas. Chicken was ok but the other included items were not. I hate wasting food but we just couldn't eat it.
