This is a new spot that opened up on Beckley where swank used to be. They have another location but the vibe here is classier. I finally made it in Star hearing nothing but rave reviews from my friends. I have been to their other location. I came in for lunch around 2:30 pm on Monday afternoon so as you can imagine i had the place to myself until 1 other family came in. As i walked in i was struck by the beautiful decor. It really is stunning. The patio, the ceilings, dining room, all of it. I ended up ordering super basic but it was delicious. I got a mango lassi, mild butter chicken and garlic naan. The butter chicken sauce was silky, smooth, velvety, perfection. The chicken was tender and delicious. I wish there was a bit more chicken in the sauce but it was all delicious. The garlic naan was melt in your mouth delicious. Highly recommend. Mango lassi was pretty standard but also delicious. Had a cute design on top im guessing made with pomegranate molasses. Cant wait to come back here and try more things in the menu.... Or just eat a lot of butter chicken and garlic naan. My server was friendly and helpful as well.

I have been wanting to try Elephant Grill for a while and it did not disappoint. It is family style ordering (imo) so my friends and I shared various plates. The very thing was delicious and tasted authentic. The service was very friendly and the interior is beautifully decorated. There is parking on the right side of the building.

Happy Born day Mom! Such a cute cozy little place and also a bit sexy! I wish I could do half stars (3.5), as I took one star away for just ok service. Our server was nice just not that helpful. The food.. I definitely will be back! My mother's lamb chops she said were VERY salty. She is west indian so she loves the spice, she asked for the hottest they can make it, so maybe it was the spice? She loved the Chicken manchow soup. We had the Seek (sp) kabobs, chicken tikka, butter chicken, garlic naan and roti. I will pass on the roti but their food is delicious! I will be back!

Great food! Great service! Environment was fantastic! You have to give it a try! This is exactly what oak cliff needed. The spices were great and fresh! I will be a lifelong customer as long as they are open

Butter chicken (boneless), rice, butter naan, and a mango lassi

When I walked in, the ambiance was so nice and calm. It's a very small restaurant and there was a band playing outside. My friends and I decided to sit outside because the inside seemed a little too close for comfort seating wise. When we sat down, the server did take a while to get to us. When he did, the first question he asked us is if we were ready. By ready, he did not mean drinks. He meant ready to order everything. Then as we were ordering, he seemed to be in a rush. The server was not very attentive the entire time we were there. I ordered the butter chicken (boneless) with butter naan and a mango lassi. Both the butter chicken and the butter naan were absolutely delicious. The mango lassi was decent. It had a sour flavor and I prefer it to be on the sweeter side. I would definitely not come back here to sit, but I would definitely order something to go here.

A hidden gem in Oak Cliff. Friendly and attentive staff. Flavorful food with an extensive menu. Festive atmosphere. This is a great place to take a date, or your family. I can't wait to gather with friends on their patio once the sun drops below the tree line. We plan to come back soon and bring our friends.

Great lunch special!! I ordered takeout and took it back to work. What a great surprise. My "butter chicken" lunch special was a feast for ALL of the senses. I got roti, cauliflower soup, a pair of onion pakoda, veggie curry, rice, butter chicken, and rice kheer! More than enough for TWO lunches! It was well-packed and everything tastes and smells delicious!

I mistakenly placed a phone order at the incorrect (75/Henderson) location, but the Beckley location took care of me. Located in the old Beckley1115/Swank house, there's vibey indoor and outdoor seating. There's a small parking lot that is shared with Beatrice. Food is good, service was kind. Cocktails are very affordable for Dallas. I'm happy to have south Asian food in the area!

Great service and food! Pramod was a great served and expalined the menu well for my first time being there! Also loved the ambiance of it especially outside the lights and painting on the pillars are so pretty!

They always have great energy in their music, creative cocktail menu, and food. I had a tasty Sidecar variation called Between Da Sheets (photo 2). They then decided to kick us out because we had too many people in the restroom. I only got one of the security guards name his name is Anthony another man in his 40s who had an accent decided to put his hands on me and push me. We were all so confused why we were getting kicked out. I will never be going back! That is absolutely insane. We did not take a long time either and they said it was gonna take too long if we all went together, which makes no sense. We took MAYBEEE 5 to 7 minutes in the restroom. The owner needs to get a grip on his security guards. Especially the ones that look like their on drugs sneaking people in from the back and the one man who put his hands on me for absolutely no reason!!! The themed cocktails were creative and fun, and the layout--with three different rooms each playing different music genres--made it feel like a full experience rather than just a bar. First of all, the Bishop Arts District itself is incredibly charming. Block after block of unique shops ranging from bookstores and bakeries to candle shops, candy stores, coffee spots, and little boutiques. It's exactly the kind of neighborhood I loveeeee exploring while traveling and if I lived in Dallas, I'd probably frequent this area often. As for The Wild Detectives, the concept alone immediately appealed to me...bookstore meets cafe meets bar meets restaurant. That combination will pretty much always grab my attention. I love to read, I love to eat. The space has a pretty relaxed, community oriented vibe, and during my Saturday morning/early afternoon visit, there were plenty of people working, reading, chatting, and hanging out both inside and on the patio. My one slight disappointment was that the bookstore side itself was smaller than I expected and didn't have quite as extensive a selection as I had imagined. That said, I still managed to leave with a few great additions for my ever growing TBR pile. Overall, this was a worthwhile stop and one I may revisit the next time I'm in Dallas.
