How awesome this experience was. Fontana was our server and Kevin the chef was hands on checking on the quality of the meal, which was really better than 5 star. I was making a comment that the salad tasted like it was just picked because it tasted so fresh- guess what, it was. Come to find out they get most of their products fresh locally, even the sausage. We were full with the portions we received, Kevin began explaining the way he made his cream brûlée, and we could not resist- we ordered it. The food itself was fresh and cooked very well. Their simple salad with radishes, pana grana, and white wine vinaigrette was delicious and balanced. I ordered a mixed drink which was very good for the price. My partner ordered a steak, and it was cooked well. The pairing of mixed root vegetables was not cooked done enough to my tastes, and needed more seasoning/fat. I ordered the almond crusted fish, and it was delicious. It did need some additional saltiness, and maybe some acidity. The sautéed chard was delicious. The dessert was a strawberry tres leches cake, and it tasted more like a pound cake soaked in milk. This is an excellent restaurant. The decor is understated but the food is incredible! Farm to table freshness makes it special.

It was well worth the drive from Gunters Mountain for Sunday brunch today. My husband had the grass fed and tender-to -fork Beef Medallions with potatoes. I opted for the Flounder with a creamy caper, wine and lemon sauce served with roasted veges. Both were obviously basted with butter while cooking and outstanding in flavor. Before the entree we ordered a delicious Caesar Salad and a surprising Chopped Salad made with leafy greens, walnuts and thick smoked bacon. The blue cheese-beautiful, we a little funky, made with cream fraiche. So delicious. All dressings are house made. The experience of this Farm-to-Table freshness of local products cooked with individual charm and warmth was so above the tired high-end steakhouse. AMAZING!!!!! Visited on a Monday evening to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. We started with the ciabatta bread and it was served with soft creamy butter (real butter). We shared a Caesar salad with homemade croutons. The main entrees: my husband ordered a New York strip topped with a butter sauce and vegetables on the side. I ordered a snapper with green beans (there was a better explanation but I don't have it). But let me say it was amazing!!! The chef brought the food out. You could tell there was pride in the preparation. We finished our meal with a peaches and cream dessert. Don't be deceived by the picture- because when it was placed on the table I was too- BUT when I took my first bite I was taken back by the flavor explosion!!!!! This restaurant uses local farms and is in sync with utilizing each Ingredient to its maximum capacity. Our bill, after tip, totaled $160 but it was worth it. Service was kindly provided by Andy and the restaurant also features live music on Sunday and Monday. They're closed Tuesday-Thursday. Reservations are highly recommended. We have dined at many of the fine restaurants regionally (Atlanta, Chattanooga, Birmingham and Huntsville) on our travels in the area, and this one easily ranks among our favorites. Located in the small and quaint town of Mentone AL atop Lookout Mountain, it is a non-pretentious (how refreshing in this foodie culture!) and small establishment offering friendly and efficient staff, a varied menu with price points for all preferences, delicious local farm to table offerings - carnivore to vegan upon request, a lovely wine list with beer/ liquor offerings, and refreshing charm. Chef (and proprietor) Kevin regularly checks with the customers seeking their feedback. Absolutely worth a visit, whether you live near by, several hours away, or just passing through. And try to make reservations in advance (OT app) because they are often full. We ordered the NY Strip Steak and Airplane Chicken. Both were wonderful, and our Airplane Chicken arrived at our table on-time, an experience very different from the Southwest Airlines record over Christmas 2022. Desert was scrumptious, particularly the crème brûlée, one of our very favorite desserts. Elevation Bistro absolutely deserves your consideration. read more

I wish I could do a -1.... We recently relocated up here a couple years ago and everyone knows you don't have too many options for food. We've been here a lot and spend a lot of money eating out and supporting this local restaurant on the weekends. However through those times there was a guy " Reed" that works there. Sometimes he is a waiter, bartender, and a host. He has the personality of a rock, and my wife and I would talk about that, but would chalk it up and would keep going . The last time we went we sat at the bar and you could notice that Reed was the bartender, and we noticed an attitude, but he was friendly to everyone else. So my wife was like we are not going back for a while, and then this afternoon we decided to go for drinks, and Reed was bartending and you could tell he was rude to us. We ordered one drink then before asking if we'd like another round, he brings us the ticket and I told my wife I guess we are not allowed to get another drink? So we finished our drinks, and I ordered another round, he brought the ticket and put an X for the tip. Me and my wife were confused, so we asked him can we leave you a tip and he said " you can if you want to but you guys don't usually leave an adequate tip" that took me by surprise and I then I made the comment to him " it could be your attitude " . Needless to say I will never step foot back in there and will not recommend this place again as I have in the past. We have spent at least $2000 +++ at this place to support them, because we live to support local business, but we will not be back and never recommend it to anyone. About 5 minutes later she seated another party of 3, also without a res, outside. Prior to seating this part she turned three other parties away. What??? Disappointing. read more

Four of us had dinner here, and three of us got food poisoning. All three of us had the same dish. We tried to contact the owner to let him know so no one else would get sick, but he couldn't even be bothered to respond. So nice to see he really cares about his customers. We had a delightful evening at Elevation Bistro and Catering on a Sunday evening...yes, they are open on Sunday. They also take reservations. I ordered the steamed mussels and a Caesar salad. The salad was fresh, the dressing was perfect, and who doesn't love ciabatta croutons! The mussels were the best. My husband had the hamburger, and for the hamburger lovers, you'll want to try this one. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Elevation Bistro & Catering to anyone interested due to their owner's personal ignorance. My wife and I were out with my mother, father and children for a birthday celebration dinner. My wife ordered the pork chop which was delivered with a long, curly, light colored hair across the top of it. We called the server over to make them aware of the concern and we're told they we're sorry and would be making another one. My father also had ordered the pork chop and polite-fully gave his meal to my wife so that she would not have to wait to eat. We had all finished our meal's several minutes prior to the replacement being delivered and with a 6 year old, 2 year old and newborn had to wait for my father to eat his meal after we were all ready to leave. Any reader with kids can most certainly relate to this as holding one child together after dinner, much less 3 is nothing short of a miracle. When the checks were delivered, no accommodation had been made for the error. As I am not able to let someone pull one over on me, I chose to write the server a note that I was unfortunately not able to provide a tip as that amount would be a (portion) of what we overpaid for the hair in our entree. I went back in after leaving and the server apologized but said it wasn't her fault, I agreed and asked for the manager/ owner to explain the situation. He was well aware of the mistake and felt as though he'd gone above and beyond by having to recook the meal. I explained how if he'd equipped his kitchen staff with hairnets that this wouldn't be an issue. (Keep in my were in front of the entire restaurant) He disagreed and said that he didn't feel it was his responsibility. I told him that his staff shouldn't have to suffer for his poor decisions and he didn't have anything to say. Told him to have a nice evening and left. If you're ok with dining with someone with these principles, enjoy at your own risk. Cheers! read more
